Open Track Ahead
Alexander looked up from his book when the compartment door opened again. His eyes widened slightly when he saw Kai struggling with the robes and then the mountain of snacks she was carrying.
He quickly put his book aside when she nearly dropped the cakes.
“Careful!” he said, reaching over instinctively before she managed to set everything down.
He stared at the pile for a moment, then blinked.
“...You bought all of that?”
There was a small hint of amusement in his voice. He had to admit, it was quite a lot compared to the chocolate frog his brother had shoved into his pocket earlier.
When Kai offered some to him, Alexander hesitated.
“Oh, you don't have to!-”
His stomach betrayed him with a quiet growl.
He froze.
His cheeks immediately turned bright pink since he was so pale.
“...Okay, maybe I'll have something.” He gave a slightly embarrassed laugh, reaching for one of the chocolate frogs. “Thanks.”
He turned the chocolate frog over in his hands before opening it, then glanced at Kai.
“So... you survived the robe situation.” A small smile appeared as he titlted his head to the said. “And you didn't get lost. That's probably a good start.”
He took a bite of the chocolate frog, looking toward the window.
“Do you know when we're supposed to arrive? It feels like we've been on this train forever.”
He paused, then looked at the pile again.
“Also... every flavour beans?” His expression became slightly suspicious. “You actually trust those?”
