Shelves lined with his treasure: rare imports, custom-ordered items that bore no resemblance to the standard Hogwarts fare his peers might be carrying. Beside them sat a discreet stack of books, titles ever-changing, rotated weekly like pieces in a gallery. Next to those were vintage comics in pristine sleeves, framed vinyl covers, jazz, classic rock and some obscure french imports he'd gotten as gifts.

At the center of display, the Shelby GT500 model and the R34 photo, trophies of a world most pureblood would rather not acknowledge but which Prat found mesmerizing. The flute lay in its case atop the desk, an elegant wooden contrast to the metallic sheen of the car models.

Hidden within his desk drawers were things less curated but of no less significance. Gum, because certain cravings did not necessarily deserve public displays. Carrying on, sat on the desk a picture of Him and Neoth, smiling at a beach, sunlit and happy, locked in place under a thin glass panel where only he could look at it. These touches were buried under layers of curated perfection, hidden like veins beneath skin.

Flanked on either side of each queen bed is a pair of mahogany wood end tables with an inlay of a cherry wood. The nightstand serves as a host for personal articles and each nightstand is provided with a brass candleholder. The brass candleholder has been charmed, for those that state the word of power to activate the candle with the holder in hand "Illumos" with see a tiny flame flicker on regardless of how inefficient a caster they might be. The room is lit overhead by a large brass chandelier that boasts two dozen candles and gives the shadows of the dormitories an eerie aspect of life. The lights turn on each morning by a timed charm at 7 o'clock and the lights go out each evening at 11 o'clock. For those that wish to stay up late or sleep in during those lazy morning, they can draw the canopy about their beds and enjoy the dark silence of their bed. Sound and light both will not cross that cloth threshold.

It is for this reason each Slytherin has a locked trunk at the foot of their bed as well as a simple writing desk with a single locked drawer. The trunk and desk both would bear the student's name the duration of the year and those that try to open the trunk or use the desk would find difficulty doing so even if they had mastered the unlocking charm. The lock used here is a Cryptex Lock, which is a cylindrical lock with all of the letters of the alphabet. The key to unlocking this is not a key at all but rather a word between 5 and 8 letters and no special characters. The proper name has to be used to unlock the desk or the trunk. As long as a student can remember their own password and they don't share it, their secrets are safe!
