The Beginnings of a Particularly Perplexing Series of Events
“Oh, uhm, The Tales of Beetle the Bard is a popular collection of stories,” Cassandra gently corrected. “It’s like the… shoot, what were they called?” She snapped her fingers before she exclaimed an answer. “The Grimm Brothers! Beetle the Bard was a wizard storyteller who, well, wrote stories. Obviously. Of course, I grew up with all the stories, with, again, my mom being a muggle.”
Cassie grinned at the thought of someone who matched her excitement, gleaming at the prospect of someone wanting to talk to her. Muggles could often tell when someone was "different"; not to any fault of theirs, but rather a subconscious tick in their brains that said "DANGER, DANGER- A FAULT IN THE CODE", whether it was rational or not. While she could understand why they acted like this, it led to making few friends in her past schools (this was probably the source of her challenged social skills). This is why Hogwarts was so intriguing to her. She could finally be with people who were like her, talk and be friends with people like her. Today was- at least, supposed to be- the day that everything changed around for the better.
"This is going to be the first year where I'm actually going to be able to learn about magic. My dad didn't talk about it much, probably because I was going to learn about it anyways, but I can't wait to learn about it. I think my favorite subject is going to be Defense Against the Dark Arts." She paused, looking between the both of them. "Wait, do you guys know anything about the subjects? Because I can explain that too, if you want!"
She leaned forward expectantly. Cassie's willingness was endearing if not a bit overbearing.

I am running out of synonymous words/phrases for enthusiasm </3
"But magic is neither good nor evil. It is a tool, like a knife. Is a knife evil? Only if the wielder is evil."
