"Well, she was a bit too adamant about not using forgetfulness potion. A bit too adamant. Which means either wizard society has another taboo nobody even bothered to tell me about, or that there's something in her past she'd rather have buried. I would look into it but... Elena wrinkled her nose, "It's probably a little bit too much work for a school spat. Easier to have her accused of journalistic misconduct and fired from Gryffgazette. I was trying to find a way to engineer that, she cares about it and it's easy to do without it being traced back to me."

When Elena put her mind to things she often tended to come up with brilliant ideas, something that could hurt was easy to make. She often tried making ways to heal, but people didn't often cooperate with them, how many times had she tried to save everyone only to end up alone again. Way too many times, the only people that didn't leave were the ones she hated. Elena Jones lived a lonely life, and she was scared of losing everyone, maybe that's why she was so enchanted with the idea of vengeance.

Elena looked at Ana, "So, what did Aurelia do? You didn't even try and go after Rorie like this, so I'm guessing something bad."

Anastasia nodded at Elena's suggestions. Unimaginative, but effective. Anastasia's ideas usually involved a bit more flair and were quite often a lot of work. Still, she found nothing more satisfying than one of her insane plots coming to fruition. Her mother had found out about exactly one of them and been both annoyed at the waste of energy and mildly impressed at the elaborateness of the scheme.  Anastasia hadn't done a good takedown yet in her time at Hogwarts and she was itching to get started. "That works as a starting point, I suppose, but long term, I'm going to have to destroy her," Anastasia said matter of factly, as though she was discussing what she'd had for tea the previous afternoon as opposed to plotting to ruin someone's life.

"So far, nothing major, but I intend to keep it that way. If you handle the problem before it's a problem, then you don't have to worry about it later. Aurelia isn't a threat at the moment, but she could be in the future, so I'm ending that before it begins. As for Roxie, she's a mild irritant at best and I don't spend much time thinking about the urchin," Anastasia told Elena.

"You're a terrifying person, you know that right? I honestly think you could destroy the whole school and not bat an eyelid." Elena was only slightly joking, Ana really was a dangerous person to cross. Elena couldn't resist a small snort at Ana's next comment.

"I'm the annoying urchin remember? She's just the angry ghetto girl. She got to have a whole roof over her head! Lucky kid." Elena smirked, she liked employing sarcasm from time to time, and hopefully Ana would appreciate it. Even though it wasn't nice to be snarky about someone who was her friend, but Rorie had been absent lately, and it made Elena a bit worried.

"So do you want my help with any of this or shall I just wait in the wings, confident that judgement will be served onto my enemy without and chance of me getting in trouble?" The girl under no circumstances wanted the trouble to reflect back on her. She couldn't risk getting kicked out of this school, not that she'd let anyone know anything about that. Like she'd told Aurelia, the reason nobody has taken her down is that nobody knows what she really wants. Although anyone that actually got to know her could figure it out easily.

Anastasia broke into a smile for a moment when Elena said she was terrifying. It wasn't her normal perfect, practiced smile, or her occasional childish, truly happy grin. It was something else, and anyone walking by would probably be just a bit scared. It only lasted for a moment, before her expression was back to the thoughtful pressed lips and furrowed brow. "I think I shall take that as a compliment, especially coming from you," she said calmly. She wasn't afraid of Elena, but given the Slytherin's outward appearance, demeanor, and what Anastasia knew about her past, Elena was on the scarier side herself.

She smirked a bit at the comment about street urchins. Honestly, that was she really hadn't the faintest idea what the difference was, nor did she much care to find that out. Still, she decided to not comment on that, since, for now at least, this alliance was something that benefited Anastasia.

"I wouldn't say no to help if you so fancy, but doing anything too obvious would completely spoil things," Anastasia said. Her plan would work without the help of this Slytherin, but it was always nice to have a bit of help. She also made certain not to make it sound like she was giving orders. Based on Elena's behavior, she didn't exactly react well to being told what to do. She also made a small mental note that Elena did, in fact, seem to care about potentially getting in trouble. She would have to probe that a bit more at a later date.

Ana's smile was terrifying on every level, Elena was just glad that it wasn't acting against her. Having Anastasia on her side, even as temporarily as this arrangement likely was, felt good. Maybe this was what people used to feel like when they heard Puck was coming to help them with their plans, maybe they didn't. Who knew? Elena certainly didn't.

"It certainly was meant as one." Elena said sincerely, compliments from the Slytherin ranged from You're the nicest person I've ever met. to You legitimately are terrifying, that's awesome. Both with the same amount of admiration behind them.

"I'd be happy to help with anything you require as long as I wouldn't be caught breaking the rules. There are a few things in this school that require me not to be a troublemaker. I know right? Strange coming from me." Elena figured Ana could think whatever she wanted to think about Elena's reasons, probably she'd come up with something other than the actual ones, "I understand, if you show your cards too early then I'm afraid she's clever enough to figure out something's going on."

Elena frowned when she said "clever" as if admitting her enemy was anything less than an imbecile caused her physical pain.

Anastasia chuckled at Puck talking about troublemaking. Who would have thought that between a Gryffindor prefect with perfect grades and a blue-haired Slytherin who lived on the streets that Anastasia would be the one who was going to go against the rules for revenge? That was rather funny to Anastasia, probably funnier than it really ought to have been, but it was. Upon hearing Elena call Aurelia clever, Anastasia arched an eyebrow and nodded approvingly. Underestimating opponents simply because they were your opponent was nothing more than stupid and she was pleased that Elena was being realistic.

"You know, if this works out alright, I might just need to reevaluate my current opinion of you," she said, the left corner of her mouth quirked in an amused expression. Beyond the association with Roxie whatever her name was, the biggest drawback Elena had was her blue hair and street urchin ness. It would certainly enrage Anastasia's parents if they found out that their daughter was so much as speaking to someone like that and it would be even worse if they were friends. At the moment, that actually incentivized Ana. After all, Hugh seemed to get on well enough with Elena and Ana hadn't seen Randy in ages and didn't think Elena had either. Well, she would burn that bridge when she got there.

Elena smiled a little at Ana's approval, and also her reaction to Elena's belief in following the rules when it was important. In this case it was important but mostly because there were some things that required being a Good Kid to do. Ridiculous emotions, stopping her from doing anything for revenge, what kind of world was it where those got in the way of perfectly good sociopathy.

"Oh? I feel flattered Ana, if that's a good thing, which I'm going to assume it is." Elena straightened up a little more, no longer feeling like this would end in disaster. Her icy blue eyes sparkled in optimistic amusement, nothing like planning the downfall of an enemy with a good ally.

"I believe I need to work on some homework soon." Elena frowned, not really wanting to leave the conversation, but realising that she was probably had to keep up her grades. Note to self, do not put off astronomy for a week, "Would you like me to owl you if I get any more information or if escalation occurs?"

No need to say what escalation entailed, if it looked like the situation was growing worse than that's probably what was happening. Easily seen, easily known, not easily dealt with.

"If anything happens and you don't hear from me, do owl me. My guess is I'll be getting in contact with you fairly shortly if everything goes according to plan," Anastasia said, a wicked glint in her eyes. She had a plan to borrow a small book that she saw Aurelia with quite often. Whether it was Aurelia's diary and contained useful information, or some correspondence with someone and needed to be disposed of, it seemed important to Aurelia, so Anastasia wanted it desperately.

"I must be off as well. I have homework to do, prefect duties to deal with, and multiple heists as well as a murder to plan," Anastasia said, throwing in the murder to throw Elena off a bit. It wasn't that she didn't trust the Slytherin - oh, wait, yes it was - but she wasn't about to reveal her plans before she had succeeded. In any event, it was always good to keep people guessing. She grinned and turned on her heel, her long brown hair poofing out dramatically. Anastasia Beckett knew how to command attention in a crowded room with a dazzling entrance, but more than anything, Anastasia Beckett knew how to make a dramatic exit. *mic drop*
