Zephyr could tell Rose was a little bit defensive about her fear of heights. Did she forget that she told him that before? He didn't bother reacting because for him, some reactions don't need words, you just take it as it is. Maybe she's just saying that to assure him, it may be true or not or it's also possible that she meant it as a psychological statement only. Her way of managing what she's feeling in that moment. There may be fear there but there's also curiosity and excitement to try the activity with him. Some people can truly say they're not afraid despite the sign of uneasiness.
There was also the part where she probably didn't want to be judge especially now that they're doing this. Like looking fragile or becoming the reason things would suddenly stop so he would rather act confident while she's also adjusting internally. He did appreciate her for that too. It just so happened that he had seen enough of her reaction to say she was indeed afraid. There were times her words didn't match what she was actually feeling or acting. Because of that, he just adjusted his actions.
He moved the broom lower with predictability to show her he's in control of the broom to reduce her fear. Reassurance is not enough sometimes, you have to partner it with action. Besides, he was not planning on pushing her to admit anything. He would rather allow her to experience this safely than to bug her about what she’s feeling. The sun was fully above the horizon by now, the dark sky was gone and it was replaced with light so warm spreading around them. The last hints of night faded completely. The lake changed as the light spread to the surface, it's twinkling like gems, like a huge mirror facing them from the ground.
He kept the broom steady just letting them stay in place to take in the view. As light touched them, he couldn't help closing his eyes. The cold air felt refreshing. When she joked about him becoming afraid of heights, he just chuckled. "Highly unlikely. It's the main reason I love it in the first place." As they indeed have time, "Not so bad right? Being this high from the ground?" He tilted his broom downward and then to the side just to mess around.
After some time, the heat made him sweat, which he used as a cue to end the experience. "I think we should head back to the castle? It's getting hot in here. We should have that breakfast now, if you're still up for it?" He offered. "We can take our time and walk back to the castle, than use my broom."

After some times being on the broom in the air -although not that high- Rose was feeling more comfortable and could sense her body being less tensed up. Obviously she was still avoiding looking down to prevent her from any unnecessarily scares. She was getting used to the sensation and the atmosphere that was different from the one on the ground. Rose was liking it and it was easier to forget about her fear. Zephyr also had a hand in it. Rose was trusting him and she knew he would be careful. Indeed he was cautious and he was showing her he had control over the broom but Rose was not worried or feeling anxious about it nor scared. If so that would be only her fear of height. Nevertheless she was feeling rather proud of herself to have overcome it a bit. The beautiful landscape in front of her was also probably helping a lot to keep her mind busy and off of the idea of the height. By now the sun had totally risen in the sky and everything was lighten up by it. The previous golden tints were now gone to let clear rays of sunshine.
It has been really impressive to fly and breathtaking to have been able to see the sun rise. The lake was now reflecting the light blue sky alongside the sun sparkling it. The view was even more breathtaking from above than the one from the tree which was already marvelous. Despite the ray of sunshine warming her face Rose could still feel the slight coolness of the wind. It was refreshing. Rose was slowly closing her eyes just enjoying the feeling of the air and the sun ray when suddenly the broom went downward before going slightly to the side. As she got surprised by Zephyr messing around a little her eyes wide opened. She got scared at the sudden move of the broom but ended up smiling and letting out a light laugh. The experience would probably have not been totally complete without a bit of thrill.
It was now some time they were flying and Zephyr suggested to go back as the temperature was rising as well and Rose couldn't agree more. At that time her stomach let out a growl answering Zephyr's question about grabbing breakfast.
"Seems like I don't have any choices now." she said jokingly but she was hungry and wished to eat. They slowly went down to the ground and when Rose's feet reached the ground she still felt like moving so the walk suggested by Zephyr to get back to the castle was a good thing for her to settle again.
Therefore they slowly made their way to the castle. Rose was joyful and wouldn't say no if the opportunity were showing up again to her.
“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”
