Only as she walked onto the pitch for the very first time as an actual chaser did Milica realize the vast amount of changes that had happened to her this past year. Thinking back on the amount of nerves she had the previous game as a simple second-string chaser made her feel a little silly. Now, here she stands a Prefect, a real chaser. Not at all comparable to the nervous dhampir from the previous game.
Sure, she admittedly held some nerves. This is her first game where she would actually go on the field and have to perform in front of every single student who cared to watch the game. And, of all teams, they had to go up against Hufflepuff. She imagined the chances of her making a fool of herself came close to 100%.
Still, she couldn't help but look around her. No familiar faces on the stands yet, but she was thankfully warming up to her teammates. If her captain and co-captain (and annoying roommate!) would meet her eyes, she would nod at them. She ignored most other players except the smug-looking Hufflepuff (@Gabriele Ricci-Armani) sitting on the bench. His dirty grin was certainly deserving of Milica's signature death-glare, so she naturally sent one his way. She somehow managed to ignore the Hufflepuff Captain's announcement regarding violence being the only answer, though she did believe it deserved a nasty comment in return. Not the time and place, she reminded herself.
After everything was checked out, she finally mounted her broom carefully and flew towards her starting position.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff
There was always an added sense of excitement in a game that had weather to contend with. The cold was already something that they would need to push through and that was before the rush of the frozen rain. The icy rain would burn and would make every collision that much more painful. It could slow reactions and made everyone feel a bit more stiff in their movements but Atlas welcomed the added challenge. It kept the game interesting and everyone needed to contend with the same struggles, even if she did recognize that catching the snitch in any level of rain was just that much more complicated.
Slytherin was always a complicated opponent but Atlas knew that her team was more than up for the challenge. Embracing the cold, Atlas flew up to her position. Rubbing her hands together to keep them warm and ready, Atlas slowly scanned the pitch. She felt oddly calm and relaxed but the anticipation was building. She knew the moment the game begin, her adrenaline would kick in but she was determined to keep her posts free of goals. She knew her role would inevitably switch and evolve during the game. Shifting her grip back to her broom, Atlas eagerly awaited the start.

If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separately from the attack roll.Broom: Varapidos (+3 to all stats) (Enganação. This literally means "cheat" and is a basically the art of sleight of hand for Brazilian Quiddich players. When a Quiddich player attempts to use the "cheat" action where they attempt to cast a spell while in a game, they succeed once per game automatically. Must declare alongside cheat action. Callum stretched out on the bench, ankles crossed and arms tucked behind his head. He let out an amused sigh, a smug smile playing on his lips, a justifiable one given how Hufflepuff had decimated Gryffindor in their first match of the season. So, Callum was feeling pretty good on how this game might go.

Another match, another bench to warm. It was a good thing his teammates knew when these matches were and reminded him, he would have otherwise missed the match. He was prepared well enough to play the game, his chest was full of snacks, he had a few mini flags to wave and cheer his team on and had a collection of house-colored sweaters to keep himself warm in these chillier climates. At least he had an easy-job: show up and look pretty, he was probably not going to play a match this year and as far as he was concerned that: was the best-case scenario.

Jada felt her heart pounding against her ribs. This was her first ever Quiddich match. It didn't matter that she was only second string it was still more that she could ever have hoped for. She made her way towards the bench at the side of the pitch. Admittedly, the weather wasn't ideal but nothing was going to dampen her mood today. She rubbed her hands together in an attempts to create some sort of warmth to combat the cold. The ground was still slightly wet from the rain shower that had passed not too long ago. Hopefully the sky would clear up a bit by the time they started playing.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff
A match against Slytherin. Camilla could not help but remember their match last year, where the fearsome foursome of @Dan Palmer, @Koko Riddle, @Percival Rainwood, and @Avery Chen had had them soundly beaten, rolled up, and tossed aside in less time than it would take for someone to say "what happened"?
Unfortunately for them, this time only one of those four were still around to cause headaches. And that meant that it was the perfect time to give the snakes a little bit of their own medicine.
"Hey, Cap" she was sure she had a cheshire grin on her face as she addressed @Mamori Inezaki; or perhaps @Avery McCall. "You think we're gonna have some fun this game?"

Daphne was excited and felt rejuvenated, she had been practicing extra hard as usual per these last few years, and she was confident Hufflepuffs would win yet again! Not only due to seeking of course but as a team, growing up alongside and seeing new members always brought a smile to her face. The blonde teenager would wave to the crowd when Aston said her name, waiting for the match to start before getting onto her broom and flying.

Abilities: Alluring: A Part-Veela is incredibly beautiful, the magic creates an "entranced" effect, wherein those that would be an attraction where they lose sight of their surroundings and focus more than necessary on the Part-Veela's movements or appearance. Viewers are also prone to experiencing thoughts of a strong desire to impress or be with the Part-Veela in question, some are strongly attracted romantically.
Prodigal DADA Learner: Able to learn Defense Against the Dark Arts 1 year ahead of their actual school year. You may only choose a spell taught in DADA classes. At end game they learn 1 restricted spell. This can also serve as an alternative means to learning spells besides earning them through DADA class.
Scream: The scream can be disorienting (-1 accuracy and -1 evasion), requiring a full action to perform but does not require a wand. This can stack indefinitely and persist until the end of the encounter. This scream can target a single user or it can target up to five users (as an AOE attack). Alternatively, this spell can be used to temporarily deafen an opponent. So rather than cause the player to become disoriented, they would become deafened (unable to hear) for the next 5 rounds.

To be quite frank, is it some manner of unspoken rule that all Quidditch games from the beginning of time to the very end, must be braved through rain, storm or hail? Blindfold on, pick one by random - none are particularly appetizing options. And now, the time has come; for Rafal Devereux to be tested to his deepest extent once again.
As the Slytherin makes his way onto the steadily more familiar pitch with the rest of his ragtag team of sporty bandits, he cannot help but bemoan the moderator choice for his second official game. Far too cheery, rather too bubbly. More often than not, Rafal is pretty much the very epitome of a most jaunty and blithe young fellow (ask anyone), yet right now? Simply not the right setting. Reading the room is a valuable character skill. Or the second year supposes in this case, pitch.
And yes, of course, the young boy enjoys the sport! If the opposite were the case, what in the name of Merlin’s fluffy beard is he even doing here? But there naturally have to be a few base perquisites first, perhaps the most crucial of which being not spending the whole stretch soaking wet and shivering. If he wanted to be freezing and miserable, he would simply go for a late-night dive in the Great Lake.

─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────If one looks up at the sky on a clear night, they might catch a glimpse of the star named Icarus. Long ago, when tales such as this one were still spread from elder to child, the boy that this star was named after was granted the gift to fly. Son of Daedalus, the creator of the very labyrinth that they had then been trapped in, his father had crafted two pairs of mechanical wings to escape the fate of death by the Minotaur. The boy had been warned to take of heed of the sun above and the sea below, for the metal feathers were attached to one another with mere beeswax. Fly too close to the sun, and it would melt. Fly too close to the sea, and the wax would get clogged in his wings. But Icarus was reckless, too young to fully understand the gravity of his father's words. Higher and higher he flew, each motion toward the exosphere taking him closer to his fate.
The wax began to melt.
Feathers loosening from their mold.
And then, gravity.
Icarus fell, his grin turing into fear, down, down, down. But he had flown higher than any mortal ever had in his time. He had lived his entire life in less than a minute and more. And as he plunged into the treacherous waters below, his last breath was not one of sadness, nor of impenetrable fear. His last thought was not regret, but rather serenity. The feeling you get when having lived a dream. Fulfillment.
On September 2oth of 2012 a new sunchild came to be. She was the living embodiment of Icarus, who's star her eyes would always trail back to, though it was too far for her to see. MACS J1149 Lensed Star 1 was its scientific name, the 7th farthest individual star known to mankind. Even after death, Icarus had been oh so far from the earth's surface, proving his ability to fly farther than any being of our terra mater mother earth will ever do and far beyond. Classified as a supergiant star, it is oh so much bigger, more massive, hotter and possibly thousands of times brighter than the sun — our sun — itself.
But I digress. Lyanna was what they named this new personification of Icarus, unknowing of her being drawn to the sun's rays. Helios was a stronger magnet than gravity would ever be to her, and what could be seen as Apollo — the sun's rays — gave her the strength to move on every day despite the hardships she was going through. And that was why the young witch had been drawn to the concept of flight, just as Icarus had done. Heliophilia. Adrenaline. Euphoria.
Nothing could stop Lyanna from mounting her newly acquired Moontrimmer at the start of her first Quidditch season at 7:30am, five and a half hours before the match would commence. It was an amazing broom, far better than any of the ones that she had been given in the past. A few laps around the pitch became ten, and then twenty, before the finale of her descent onto the freshly cut grass below. When returning inside, Lyanna was decisively hungry. She checked her watch: breakfast had been served. Heading to the Great Hall, broom still swung over her shoulder, she then sat at the Hufflepuff table and ate a simple but delicious breakfast of eggs and toast. Thoughts of the game ahead were impossible to restrain, plaguing her with both excitement and nervousness. It would be an amazing experience, of that she was sure, even just as a benched second-string for the time being. Everyone knows that the crowd influences the players, and the sunchild was determined to make sure that she would be heard.
The morning slipped by quickly, and Lyanna ate lunch at around 11:30 to ensure her being able to digest the food she managed to get down. Nervousness was not exactly a major player here, the sunchild was just too excited and overthinking things far more than she normally would. But when the time finally came to take her place in the stadium, it was exhilarating and she was ready. Her first Quidditch match would not be about winning or losing, but about trying her absolute hardest to benefit her team and have fun. Fun. A concept that had arisen from the abyss once again not too long ago, but one which she subconsciously craved, for a thirteen-year-old should have the privilege to live fully. Carpe diem: seize the day. And that she certainly would.
"We can do this, guys! Time to bring Slytherin down and WIN!"

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff
With the air nipping at her skin, Cecilia felt certain that ‘horrid’ was quite the understatement. Still, she smiled approvingly upon hearing Aston’s enthusiasm. At least the biting cold was a familiar foe to her — unlike the badgers before her. Whilst she noted their prowess during their clash with Gryffindor, the newly appointed captain hardly knew what to expect from them. However, the same could be said about the snakes whom she hardly knew. Hopefully that would change soon change but for now, she would not fret.
When Cecilia stepped onto the pitch, elation washed away lingering worries. Some stares seemed rather daunting but she stood tall, basking in the attention. After the excitement settled, her solemn gaze drifted over the crowd in search of familiar faces. Her inability to locate a familiar halo of pearl blonde elicited an unusual pang in her chest that she quickly brushed off.
Diverting her focus back to the pitch, Cecilia glanced at her fellow captain. Witnessing Lottie’s sharp focus steeled her resolve and bolstered her faith in Slytherin. Perhaps this was simply childish optimism that came with her lack of experience, but that possibility would not be enough to deter her. If any cobra locked eyes with her, she would flash a radiant grin and offer firm nod; much like when she met Milica’s gaze. Her attention was then briefly drawn to a benched Hufflepuff whose mannerisms elicited a scowl from her roommate. Turning back with an amused snicker, she quietly hoped to see that irritation being channeled during the match.
Before taking to the skies, the young captain gave a brief address. “Let’s have plenty of fun,” she said with a sly smile tugging at her lips.
