PV   Completed  Way to make an impression
Hearing her call him Jack caused Jude to huff, furrowing his eyebrows, watching her leave. It was final: he didn't like that girl one bit. He didn't care if he hardly knew her name and that they had exchanged fewer than fifty words with one another – Evasomething Somethingthorne. It was ugly, anyway. She was the witch version of Jennifer Davenport, which translated to: an even bigger nightmare for him.

If she were a first year, he sure hoped not to share a singular class with her. He wanted his first year at Hogwarts to be amazing, and he was not going to let some snob princess ruin it for him with her stupid galleons, stupid dresses, and stupid face.

"Aw, I'm happy that you've already made a new friend, Ju. She seemed very polite," Mother said, far too oblivious for her own good not to notice the clear animosity between the two kids. Or perhaps she had decided to purposefully ignore it, in the hopes of making it all better for both of them. "Did you get yourself a treat, like you wanted to?"

"Uh, no, I got distracted... with... the bombs, but I didn't want anything specific anyway," Jude turned to her, giving one final look over his shoulder in the direction where that girl had been. When he locked eyes with his mother, Jude made sure to put on his most innocent face. "Let's go, mum. I want to start my studies as soon as possible..."
the end.
