"In all actuality," Jrue said softly, "the forest does scrapbook. It's a collector, like I am for buttons and books and my scrapbook, and you are for, who knows, chocolate cards or quidditch pins," She turned around to survey the forest. "Not to get all poetic and profound, but it collects things for it's scrapbook... coins, lost papers, bones, fingerprints, stones..." Biting her thumbnail, she faced Mikey again. "Maybe that's why it wanted my book-" She shrugged her shoulders, pulling her scarf around her neck a bit more tightly.
As the boy gained a more serious tone in his voice, responding to her comment on his lingering thoughts, she nodded her head, understanding how he felt. It takes time to process things, it really does. Like polaroid film, or sun paintings. She felt a little twinge in her tummy when he said the word coward.
"Woah, woah woah...." Jrue stuck her hands out, book tucked underneath her armpit. "Excuse me, Mikey unknown last name, but you sir, are anything BUT a coward. Having the confidence to walk through the woods late at night, to come up and talk to me, and be as brave as you are. Using magic? You are certainly, anything but a coward." She crossed her arms, pressing her mouth into a flat line. She watched his face, noticing the way the light wind was fluttering the leaves about, and fluffing up his hair, and swaying the tree's branches.
"I dunno, I'm already a woodland sprite, and a Dhampir, ghost would be cool, too." She smiled, shrugging. Jrue accepted his offer, adjusting her bag as she followed him, stepping over rocks and piles of the leaves they pushed over. She cleared her throat, listening to him talk, his voice a stark contrast to the soft whistle of the wind and crunching of the tree debris. She raised her eyebrows at the mention of emergency.
"I dunno, Mikey, you better be okay with my poor luck. With my odds, you're likely to end up getting more sick, probably busting a knee, or having an anvil fly out of the sky-" She licked her lips, the cold air turning her skin pink.
And not only was her skin pink from the cold, she turned red when he mentioned CPR. She didn't actually think she'd have to perform it on him, it was just a joke. The thought made her shoulders shiver. "Yeah, haha..he... yeah. Hot cocoa." Jrue put her hands in her pockets, turning to him. "I personally like a cup of Eggnog... silly little western muggle drink. It's so yummy... hard to get here, so I usually get earl grey." She took a deep breath through her nose.
"But," Jrue added, chuckling softly under her breath, a cloud of warm condensation appearing, "I don't think too many puffs like me are going to be going on intense scrapbook hunts like we are." She smiled, digging her foot into the ground before she continued moving forward with Mikey.
"What are you going to do after this? Sit and brood in a corner with your nose in a book, that's what all Ravenclaws do at the end of the day, right?" She smirked, her eyes crinkling. She turned to look at him, watching as they walked.
