The dark-haired girl sent a slight glare at the boy, more joking than anything. She listened to him talk for a moment before nodding her head. “Don’t laugh at me, it was a very startling moment. Plus, I was little and overwhelmed, I couldn’t help myself.” Thinking back on it, Aziza was rather embarrassed. It was a startling situation all around, but she definitely overreacted when her little feet touched the white snow.
“We will get to meet so many people from different places. Not only that, but I would definitely like to understand how Pureblood families live. I cannot imagine having almost no access to muggle technology.” The girl knew there were major cultural differences, just in the wizarding communities of the UK. She remembered her father talking about how many Pureblood families were still very strong on the blood purity, while there were just as many Wizardborn and Half-Blood families that didn’t seem to care. She was curious to talk to a Pureblood student and see what differences there were.
Aziza had asked the question, but had not actually thought about an answer herself. “Maybe Potions or Charms?” There was definitely hesitation in her voice. “Both of them seem so versatile in what you can do, but I guess that could be said about any of them. There are so many things that can be used to help people but also could be used with bad intentions.” The girl would never purposefully harm someone, but there was a part of her in the back of her head that was curious about the things that spells and potions could do.

Zephyr raised both his hands as if in surrender as soon as Aziza gave him that playful glare. “Okay, okay, I’m not laughing at you… see..?” Drawing an imaginary halo above his head for emphasis, although the corner of his mouth lifted slightly in a smile. He didn’t mean to embarrass her, he only wanted to tease her. “Fine, maybe a little, buut only because it’s a funny story now.” She explained how overwhelmed she had been, “Honestly, I’ll react the same way.” He thought about how different it must feel when you’ve never experienced snow before. “And you’re still young back then, everything will be a lot bigger.”
Meeting people from different places was the part that excited him as well. He spent most of his life around the same small community on the farm, so the idea of meeting students from many different countries and families was giving him motivation to push through this new world he was thrown into. When Aziza mentioned Pureblood families and how they lived without much muggle technology, he was curious. “That’s curious. It’s hard for me to imagine not using any of that.” His father explained to him the dos and don’ts of the wizarding world, what to expect and what to be aware and one of that was the muggle technology not working in any magical place, especially Hogwarts. He thought how messages arrived by owl instead of post or text, “Don’t you find it weird that wizarding world is old school compared to muggle world?” They’re living backwards when potentially, with magic, you could do more.
As for what she’s saying, maybe there were some people who grew up with magic, they probably don’t even need or miss muggle things, “Magic probably replaces a lot of it.” Curiosity showed on his face as they further discussed about blood status. “Do you know much about blood status? Students keep mentioning it, but I’m still trying to understand how much it actually matters. My mom is a muggle and my dad is pureblood, what does that make me then? Half muggle, half pureblood?” He didn’t know if that was a stupid thing to ask but he really wanted to know. “Some people talk about it as if it’s a big deal. Do wizard families really care about that kind of thing?”
Zephyr noticed the hesitation in Aziza’s voice when she answered his question. It was obvious she was thinking through the idea while speaking. It reminded him of how he sometimes answer some questions before he can fully sort his thoughts. “The name may be a bit familiar to me now because of my father, but I honestly have no idea what’s happening in those classes. I’ve tried asking my dad but he won’t tell me, he said he will not take away the excitement from me. I should be the one to find out.” He said it’s part of his Hogwarts journey. Still, for someone who grew up in muggle world, it’s strange that all of these would soon be part of normal school life. There’s one thing he could agree in that doesn’t need experience, that anything could be of help to other people but also be used for bad intentions. “Looks like anything powerful can be used in different ways.”
