Percival’s heart was racing before he even left the ground. The pitch stretched out ahead of him, with fellow students already on their brooms, ready for a modified game of Quidditch. He had never played a single match before, let alone a modified game like this, so now that he was actually standing on the field, it finally sank in just how out of his depth he might be.
Still, he couldn’t stop smiling. This was exciting!
A gentle breeze swept across the pitch, tugging at his hair and robes as he tightened his grip around the handle of the school broom. It wasn’t a fancy broom like some of the others were using, just a standard practice model from school that wobbled a little too easily when he leaned too far to one side. The others all had sleek, polished brooms that undoubtedly cost them a lot of money, but performed so much better.
For a second, he wondered if they’d even notice if he somehow crashed before the match began.
After taking one last deep breath, he pushed off the ground to join the others. The broom gave a small shudder as it lifted, but then steadied beneath him as he soared through the sky. The rush of air hit his face as he did, and he felt that familiar flutter in his chest again... the mix of fear and thrill that came with flying for sport. His eyes flicked toward the other players circling higher above, and he guided his broom into their formation. It was a little shaky, but he managed to join them.
From above, the pitch looked enormous. The bludgers were already rattling against their restraints, and the quaffle looked ready to be tossed into this bloodier game of Quidditch as well. Percival rolled his shoulders and adjusted his grip one last time, nodding to himself to convince himself that he could do it. He might not have the fastest broom or the sharpest reflexes, but he was here to learn and do his best.
Maybe, together, they could even win this little game! The thought made the young Slytherin grin, but even if they lost, the experience would at least still be worth all the trouble.

Oonagh had been looking forward to proving herself once more. There has not really been sport games yet, just practice and even that tended to have its up and downs because she could not actually spend her time actually whacking people off their brooms, without a threat of being potentially kicked off the team. So when there was a query for people joining a friendly Quidditch match without chasers and therefore increased violence, well she was obviously going to join without a doubt! And she had given herself the freedom to sign @Silas Norwood up, right alongside her.
When she arrived with Silas in tow and her gaze fell upon @Livia Machavariani, she grinned ear to ear and gasped. "Yer the gal that ####ing got detention during thair seicont week, whit an icon!" Her voice had been raised above requiring to be close to hear, Oonagh was very happy to make this a public declaration just to annoy the girl. Oogie pretended this would be the first time seeing her since that incident, when in reality she had spotted the girl at least a few times walking to or from the headliner office. That did not mean she would let this opportunity of being a nuisance go by without making the best of it.
"Yo Prat," she called out to the guy in question, dark hair and whatnot, who had first mentioned this game to her. "Whit do Ah get, when Ah take oot three of them numpties by masel?" She asked, cocky as ever, as she shoved her favourite Quidditch accessory upon her thick curls, a squeaky green froggy helmet that was more of a fashion statement than a means of protection against others.

Mondays were stupid. Why did Silas need to bother doing things like school and work when there was no point, really? It was all just damn social constructs and whoever came up with those concepts was also stupid. Why should he have to go through the motions like some kind of mindless, obedient zombie just for the sake of conforming or “contributing to society” or “earning a living” when it wasn’t truly necessary and humans had merely imposed a made-up value onto it? It was ridiculous.
All that was simply to say that Silas hated school. He had already begun skipping classes, probably a bit too frequently, and it was only September… What a promising year this was looking to be. At least there were some things that were okay — like friends and sports. So when Oonagh told him that she had signed him up for some kind of Quidditch game that was happening today, Silas just rolled with it. It sounded fun enough, and he supposed he was vaguely looking forward to it.
He arrived at the pitch alongside Oonagh, who promptly gasped, looking at Livia. "Yer the gal that ####ing got detention during thair seicont week, whit an icon!" Silas snickered. “Are ya serious? What’d ya do, try ter attack more studen’s?” Upon hearing the words “opine” and “antediluvian” a moment later, Silas looked at Livia judgementally. “Wha’ the fuck does tha’ mean? Have ya considered speakin’ like a normal 11 year old, or are ya some kind of robot? I didn’ realise AI ‘ad grown so realistic already…”
Then, Livia started talking about how variations of “gang gang” would make a good team name, and how impressed she was with what was presumably graffiti or some shit. Silas couldn’t help it, he immediately burst into laughter, glancing briefly at Oonagh to see if she had heard that, too. It sounded absolutely ridiculous coming from Livia, and the fact that she genuinely seemed to have no clue what it meant only made it even better. “Yeah, ya know what? Tha’ sounds like the perfec’ name.” He smirked and mounted his broom — something that he didn’t have that much practise with yet, given his Muggle upbringing and it still being the first month of the school year, but he had got the hang of it pretty quickly. He hoped that this game would be interesting and eventful, preferably with lots of carnage.

| == | ![]() ===SEP 22 in the AFTERNOON with FAIR PLAyers The wind that whipped across the Quidditch pitch was a fickle, biting thing, tugging at the hem of her robes and snatching the breath from her lips. Isabella Flores was late. Dreadfully late. A quick word with the professor about potions had spiralled into an agonising twenty minutes discourse, and now her team had already assembled at the training pitch. Reluctantly, she began the long stoic march across the pitch, hands slick with sweat on the handle of her school broom - a rickety old contraption that felt about as stable as a wet noodle. It was then as she neared the cluster of her teammates, that her gaze lifted and snagged by a familiar silhouette. Naturally, he would be present. Adorned in Quidditch gear, Archer's dark, unruly hair was ruffled by the same impertinent gust that tousled Isa's brown locks, leaving her look somewhat like a disheveled cloth doll. Being unacquainted with the remainder of the gathering, the pureblood's arrival was acknowledged with nothing more than a curt nod from her part, a gesture that was returned with some wary and uncertain glances. She followed the team captain and swung a leg over the broom, managing to get something more of a stumble than a kick-off, a lurch that sent her wobbling a few feet into the air. The ground seemed to fall away at a nauseating angle. She was too high. It was too windy. Her breath hitched as a gust of wind caught her, making the wretched broom quiver violently. Isa had , put her name forward for Chaser herself. With her nimble grace and quick reflexes from years of ballet, the role of evasion, precision, and passing was a seemingly natural fit. A Flores certainly didn't have the brute force for a Beater, nor the narrow focus for a Seeker. The entire premise had seemed appealing on parchment - just fly a bit and not get hit. But now, feeling the broom tremble between her knees, it felt like sheer madness. And Piérre’s jovial, booming "Don't die." certainly did not inspire any confidence. role: chaser actions: as strategised broom: basic school broom sta 8・eva 9・str 1・wis 10・arc 2・acc 10 |

Two cast-iron balls and a red leather quaffle flew into the air, the cast-iron wrought and motivated by an enchantment of malice whilst the quaffle was directed by a single, hard throw from the Britalian himself. Almost immediately, the fray turned to pandamonium.

As soon as the players kicked off, the keen eyes of the boy that had spent his entire life picking up movement and reacting to reflex-reliant situations noticed one of the girl players on GangGang tailgating one of the girls on FAIR PLAyers. That wasn't a problem in and of itself, but it became a problem as soon as he noticed her snatching for the bristles of the girl's broom.
She ended up missing, but the damage (in the form of her attempting to do so to begin with) had already been done. She had done been done in.
He pressed the tip of his wand to his throat, a Sonorus-enhanced voice booming in rebuke. "HEY! SLICK STUFF, I SAW THAT. TAKE A LAP, NOT EVEN THREE SECONDS IN AND WE'RE PULLING THIS STUFF IN BROAD DAYLIGHT ALREADY!?" A knife hand was pointed at Mariachi, so she didn't even have the excuse of claiming she didn't know that she was the one that had been noticed. "YEAH, YOU! GIT GOING! SEE HOW FAST YOU CAN GET AROUND THE TRACK, CHOP! Green eyes still glittered with amusement, however. Ah... things like this brought back the glory days of his experience with Quidditch... sooooo much cheating...

Meanwhile, FAIR PLAyers seemed to have the bright idea to form something that was half-structured like a Hawkshead... though Isa seemed to have not quite gotten with the programme yet. Maybe it was nerves or the fact that she had arrived late and was still trying to get into the swing of things. Percival and Rosaline seemed to be able to take up the slack readily, though, as they faced off against Odilon.
The first quaffle was snatched up by Odilon, and with great haste he managed to slip it past the defending Archer. The second tossup looked as if it was going to go the same way as the first, but Rosaline wasn't letting it go without a fight. It was a midair struggle, the leather ball went back and forth and back and forth between the two as they spun and vied for control, but in the end Odilon barely managed to snatch it up in a moment of uncertain grips and tried again against Archer. Archer was ready, though, and knocked the quaffle aside with ease.
The third and fourth throws managed to get picked up by Percival, and since Odilon (as the keeper) was away from his hoops, the quaffles were scored with no difficulties. The last quaffle, however, was a pick and score by Odilon.
"TWENTY FOR GANGGANG, TWENTY FOR FAIR PLAYERS!" Piérre announced as the first cluster of quaffle play came to a close.

The main attraction, however, was always going to be the bludgers. There had to be something primitive in the wizarding world that was akin to ancient muggle cultures that both prized and held lofty the bloodsport and feats of physical strength resulting in grievous wound that this particular aspect of the game liked to boast. In this particular iteration of the game, the "Seeker" role had become a wild card role, established in this round and would not change thereafter. To nobody's surprise, both teams had elected to procure a "third beater", so there was the potential for possibly six beaters acting at the same time on the field.
As it turned out, it would be five out of the six that would be directly acting on the two Bludgers. Alphonse sent one screaming after Isa, only for Leo (the last remaining beater) to take a literal hit for the team. Blasted from the seat of his broom, there was nobody there to save him, and Piérre acted quickly in turn even as another disaster unfolded shortly thereafter. "Arresto Momentum!" Piérre's hand shaking slightly with concentration, and after an initially unpleasant jerk as if he had been hoisted by an invisible bootstrap potentially resulting in a bit of whiplash (thanks Livia for the flavored critfail) Leo would find himself touching down on the ground safely as opposed to crashing into it. "You are, sadly, eliminated from the game." The Britalian would speak loudly enough for him to hear.
Meanwhile, Livia evaded an iron demon of her own sent by Frederick, and Oonagh found herself chilled by Livia's mere presence--enough so that her ambitious attempt to Avery went wild even before it had a chance to potentially lock on. Another bludger from Avery herself, though, made good on Olivia (who had seemed a bit lost), and while the strike that had come for her had been remarkably glancing (she looked as if she had pulled out all the stops in an attempt to avoid the half-slug from Avery) she too was thrown from her seat and rendered completely senseless for her troubles. "Arresto Momentum! You down there, make sure she's alright!" Piérre demanded of the first boy he had rescued as the girl joined him.
Rosaline took a full bludger from Prat but still flew off... however the boy was willing to bet she had probably had better days that didn't involve such a crushing strike. Still, she did live to fly another day. So... perhaps that was the thing that counted the most in the moment, right?
Meanwhile Silas seemed to have a more direct method of elimination in mind, hurtling after Archer and bodychecking him with a very precise and flawless blatch that forced the two of them to compete for just a half second before Archer would lose his hold and (with bruises to boot) would start to fall. Another ripple of uncertainty passed through the Britalian as Livia breezed by (thanks Livia for the second flavored critfail) as--like Leo--after an incantation of "Arresto Momentum!", Archer would get 'hoisted' for a second before his feet safely touched the ground again. "HEY! WANNABE LINEMAN!" Another knife hand was directed at the youngin with the (exceptionally) floofy hair as Sonorus boomed again. "GET YOURSELF AROUND THE PITCH! JOIN YOUR TEAMMATE, WHY DON'T YOU?! Geez these kids..."
Piérre coughed once, rubbing his throat lightly to ease the strain of the magically-enhanced strain as he watched for further shenanigans. Fortunately, none came.
RECOVERY
Reducio
Olivia is on Save duty, but failed to post! Also she is KOB so... point is moot.
Alas, three kids had fallen, and there had been nobody there to rescue them except for the very mundane magical prowess of their moderator. Three less that would be competing for the prize of saying that they had been the last to fall in the bloodsport. "Keep it CLEAN!"
Well, as clean as they could, anyhow...

Whatever ignoramus had thought it to be a lovely idea to have Livia on the same team as Silas Norwood and Oonagh Brown would observe Livia's outrage in the form of a carefully-worded letter later that night. Indeed, she thought it a horrible idea to let emotions run loose now, as victory remained paramount, so both Oonagh and Silas would receive blank stares in response to their attempts at taunting. Half the balderdash they were spouting made no sense to her – she was most certainly not an icon, not a saint, not a stringy old man with a halo about his head. The idea unnerved her. Even worse was the mention of a 'robot' or 'AI'. Livia did not let her confusion show, but she would ponder the notion even as she flew about. She was almost ready to take offence, as the term sounded rather similar to работа, the Russian word for 'work', and it was quite the assumption for the greasy little breedbate to suggest she might toil and labour – that would be far more suited for him.
Lost in her thoughts, Livia idly reached out for the bristles of one of the brooms of the other team. Her outstretched fingers grasped the breeze, which hardly threw her off. She tried again, leaning forward this time, not entirely caring too much if it worked. A small part of her had already decided that losing might be okay if it meant Norwood and Brown lost, too.
However, the referee's loud, grating voice hissed against her ears, and with a roll of her eyes, Livia directed her broom towards the perimeter of the field. She said nothing.
This new perspective offered a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious view of the pitch, Livia was pleased to discover. As she – purposefully none too swiftly – meandered around the margins, she locked the nearest thing she had to a death stare on Oonagh Brown. Norwood's demise would come later. But Brown? Livia kept her stare up until Brown faltered, and then she smiled to herself. 'Some beater, huh?' she murmured, pleased. She had spoken just loudly enough to be heard should the wind care to carry her words.

Avery hadn't realized how bloody the game would actually be compared to a regular Quidditch match until she watched two of her teammates fall from the sky. She was shocked for only a moment. Knowing she would have to re-access that problem later, but first she had a job to do.
Avery had never swung a beater's bat in a real game before, so she hadn't realized how powerful it was. She swiped a bludger in the direction of a girl she believed was named Olivia and watched as it knocked the girl unconscious. She winced at the sight of what happened. Knowing that the impact didn't feel great.
Avery felt bad about knocking the girl out of the game, but she knew it had to be done. It was her job as captain and beater to hold her team together and keep them from falling apart. Though she wasn't doing the best job quite yet, but she was sure things would get better.
"Keep up the good work, FAIR PLAyers! We got this!" She shouted out to her team as she flew across the sky. She was surprised as the chaos unfolded around her. The bludgers flying, people falling from their brooms, penalty laps, everything that reminded her of her first Quidditch game. A game that she would never forget after losing as badly as her team had.

As soon as the match began, Frederick felt his stomach drop and his heart race as he shot through the sky, but the rush of adrenaline soon took over, and the eleven-year-old boy started to feel more at ease being up there. After all, even if the rules were a bit different, this was the sport he loved most.
With his mind fixed on his first objective, just as he and his team had planned, Fred leaned slightly forward, steering the fast Firebolt toward one of the Bludgers. As he sliced through the air, however, he had to make a few changes in direction to get a better view of the game and that was when he saw the first signs of a match that seemed to be turning violent.
He barely had time to celebrate his teammates’ goals. Everything was happening far too quickly. He saw Leo take a direct hit from a Bludger and get thrown off his broom, and Rosaline narrowly avoided suffering the same fate. Almost in the same split second, Fred managed to reach a Bludger and, perhaps by luck, hit it hard, redirecting it toward a dark haired girl who looked about his age. The girl, however, dodged Fred’s attack easily, and he shook his head with a small grin as he banked his broom and kept scanning the field.
Two of their opponents had been penalized, but that didn’t mean his team was at an advantage. Archer, their Keeper, had also fallen, and now they were outnumbered. Still, Frederick didn’t lose heart, he ran through their planned strategy once again, and, upon hearing Avery’s shout of encouragement, he yelled back, “Let’s do this!” After all, he was there to have fun, but he also loved a good competition.

Percival gripped the handle of his broom tight enough for his knuckles to ache. The whistle had barely sounded, and the field turned into complete chaos. Bludgers screamed through the air, players darted in and out of formation, and the constant shouts from both teams were a lot to take in for him.
This was his very first game of Quidditch, let alone a game with modified rules.
So, when the first player went down, he felt his stomach drop. One moment, Leo had taken a hit meant for someone else... the next, he was tumbling through open air. Percival’s breath caught until he saw the referee catch him with a spell before he hit the ground. Then another fell, and another. Maybe this hadn't been a good idea for him to join, after all.
But there was no way back now.
The quaffle was back in the game after the opponents had scored, and instinct finally took over. He dove forward, his broom cutting through the air as he went for it. His first grab was messy, but he recovered, tucking the ball against his side before looping around toward the undefended hoops. His heart pounded and his vision narrowed, and for a moment, all the noise around him disappeared. He threw, and almost to his surprise, he had actually scored a point!
The cheer that followed nearly drowned out his own relieved laugh. He could really do this!
Avery’s voice then reached out to the team again, shouting praise and instructions. The excitement hit him hard. He raised a fist briefly before catching himself, realizing there was still more game left to play. But he had found his rhythm, having already scored twice, so now it was time to get ahead of their opponents.
With excitement and confidence, Percival snapped through the air once more, chasing the Quaffle.

date place tags wc speech outfits 22/09/25 Quidditch Training Pitch 249/200 #36563c xxxAdrenaline surged through her. The game had officially started, and so had the chaos. She soared to the Quaffle and tried to grab it. After a fierce battle, she ultimately lost it to her opponent. She felt disheartened, yet quickly perked up when she saw Percival score twenty points for their team.
Her joy didn’t last long, for a Bludger was hurtling towards her. She wanted to dodge it, yet it was so fast that she could only watch it come towards her with her eyes wide open. The Bludger struck her hard and sped away. She wasn’t afraid of pain, but this one really hurt. The force of the Bludger nearly knocked her off her Comet 180, but she managed to stay in the sky. Flying to a safer place, she endured the pain and observed how the match was going.
What she hadn’t anticipated was that three people had been KOB in the first round, and two of them were her teammates. Her heart sank for a moment; she hoped Leo, Archer, and the other girl were all right. She wondered if the real game would be this violent. Then she heard Avery’s cheering, and she shouted back, “Yes, we can do this!” She needed to shake off these worries and trust her teammates.
She soared through the air, following her captain’s lead and wishing she could do better in the next round. Her competitive spirit burned bright; she was determined to bring victory to the team.
