It came as a bit of a shock that Sinclair took the time to tidy up after herself, considering how Adeline had essentially told her she could piss off for all she cared. In typical Sinclair fashion, The Gryffindor made quick work of reassembling her contributions to the boathouse's state without fuss or spectacle (apart from a rogue sigh). For a fleeting moment, the two girls joined forces and worked together in silence, side by side.
While ultimately unsatisfying, the little duel had been an exciting twist to Adeline's otherwise ordinary afternoon, a ripple in the monotony of her day. Although Sinclair had done a fair bit of changing since their first encounter in the boathouse, the glint in her cat-like eyes shone familiar to Adeline. Somehow, it was comforting, like an anchor to a simpler time.
Addie pretended not to notice as she started to leave, thinking it best to appear nonchalant in the moment. The girl's feet thumped rhythmically across the soft wooden floor of the boathouse. The Gryffindor girl spoke from the door frame, a touch warmer than before. "I've spent more than enough time here. I'm going to go, Addie. I'll let you enjoy your solitude." Adeline felt herself relax for the first time since entering the boathouse. Not only had she succeeded in standing her ground, it seems that somehow and someway, she had softened Sinclair, even if just a bit. She bit her lip to tame her smile before whipping around to face Sinclair, offering the girl a simple but heartfelt, "Thanks." She lingered in the stillness for a moment, fighting the urge to find more to say. Suddenly, a final sentiment spilled from her mouth before she could consider swallowing it back down. Addie called out to Sinclair across the old boathouse once more.
"I hope I see you around sometime."
