Dylan knew that he should stop thinking so much. It wasn't fair to his best friend, Summer to have to sit there and let him ponder. He had to snap out of everything and go for the leap. Jump headfirst into being free from his thoughts. He was only thirteen! So why did he have so many deep thoughts? He was supposed to still be a kid. He blamed it on everything his aunt had done. She was the reason they had chosen to move away. Dylan knew that much.

"Sorry. I shouldn't be acting like this. I should be paying more attention to you and here I am deep in thought again." He laughed lightly and acted as if he had brushed it off when deep down he chided himself.

Dylan looked down for a moment to hide the red blush creeping across his cheeks at the compliment Summer had just given him. How was she always so bright and full of sunshine? Why did she even care to hang around a storm cloud like himself? She was so much better than him. They were complete opposites, yet something drew them together.

"Cake? Well, this honestly may be the only cake I get depending on how busy my parents' schedule gets." Dylan explained.
