You gotta take the plunge!

The young scot gave the girl a confused frown. "The great hall silly. Or even the kitchens themselves." Was she joking? No, she wasn't. Wasn't she? His hand reached out to scratch the back of his neck. He wasn't sure how far off this girl was in the wells of sadness as they say. As such, he couldn't help but stare a little.
"Right. Lets just..." He pointed towards the castle. "You know, go back or something." He shrugged and pursed his lips, meaning to say it was all the same to him. Though he was getting tired of the cold air outside. Little miss sunshine might have brought her massive scarf to wrap her head in, but he had just his scruffy red sweater. He pulled on both ends of the collar from his shirt and brought them up to shield his neck by an inch more.
"Well don't keep standing there lass. Unless you got some extra scarf tucked in that book of yours I'm heading in. This bloody weather is going to be the end of me soon enough." He started marching towards the castle, waving Nico over to follow him. It was time she got her feet moving. Time to take that plunge.

You gotta take the plunge!
Hugh spoke of the kitchen and the great hall. They both didn't have much meaning to her. They gave her stress and anxiety but... That was different. She was alone then. It could be different now with her new friend. Maybe it wasn't that scary after all...
Since a long time, she found someone she thought she could trust. Wherever they would go, it wouldn't make a difference to her aslong as she wasn't alone. She glanced over at the lake that had now become barely visible. The mist had completely erased its existence and was now sneaking on the grass under their feet. It was time to go.
Hugh remarked that he was getting cold and had no intention of staying any second longer; Nico looked at her scarf, feeling a tad guilty. Maybe she should get an extra scarf and carry it with her, for situations like this. You never know. It could save a life. 'I'm sorry, I have no extra scarf. Maybe I should fetch another one just in case. You know.. f-for emergencies like these.' She smiled softly and patted the soft fabric of her Slytherin scarf. With the flick of her wrist (after many years of wearing a scarf nearly everyday) she took off her scarf and quickly draped it around Hughs neck. 'For the trip back, you can wear it...' Her face was uncovered but she didn't mind. She trusted him, he didn't make her feel uneasy. Maybe a little bit flustered here and there but... Not anything scary.
She clutched her hands over the strap of her bag, quickly following Hughs footsteps back to the comfortable warmth of the castle.
