The young Slytherin blinked when she noticed Dennis was near her. Wait, when did that happen? She was about to question it when the answer popped into her head. ‘Right, right. My roll. He did mention catching me before … I thought he was joking, though. I didn’t think he was serious about that offer. Ah, that’s likely because I’d rather be caught in a girl’s arms, but then again, who am I to judge if someone wants to catch me? Ah, stop overthinking … calm down brain …’

Her blue eyes snapped to his hand … on her shoulder. Kaitlyn didn’t say anything, but she chuckled at his comment about her catch. “I think you’re joking about that,” she guessed. “Even if it is a joke, though, thank you.” She assumed he wouldn’t have said it if it wasn’t at least partially true. Right? At least, that was her hope.

“I …” Kaitlyn trailed off as she handed back the quaffle. Her eyes quickly snapped back to his hand on her shoulder. Hm, he was probably right. One of the worst things to do was to overwork yourself … especially when things didn’t go as well as you had hoped … even if she had a cheerleader who joked with her. It was probably the right time to call it quits. “Right, yes, we probably should,” she agreed, flustered at her lack of experience.

At this point, he was well practiced in the art of waiting for Kaitlyn to do what he could only guess now was internal processing. He held her stable while she found the words she was looking for. He could definitely being doing worse. For one he could have had to catch her and dangle her one handed while trying to stay upright on his own broom. That would have been a disaster indeed. It seemed Kaitlyn’s computations were finished though, before he could think anything more of watching her splat on the ground. Dennis released her once he had the quaffle back in his hands.

She seemed unsure of whether she wanted to continue or not, or maybe it was something else. Truly, Dennis found Kaitlyn to be like trying to solve a puzzle sometimes but a puzzle that she kept piece missing just to make it that much harder. He thought it best that he not try to figure her out though. “Well, I will let you to your flying, Kit! I hope we have a chance to meet again soon!” He said in his usual sing-song cadence. He gave her a playful salute and then lowered himself to the ground. He left the quaffle by her robes incase she wanted to play with it some more, put the broom away and headed off the practice pitch.
