When Kait Met Dennis
Dennis hadn’t really noticed Kaitlyn’s stumble as she cleared out of the way. If he had he…well…it’s really hard to know what he would do in that moment? Catch her? Call out for her to be careful? Either way, he didn’t see it as he was more concentrating on making sure he followed her advice to the letter.OOC: Sorry if this post is awful. I have a fever and I'm not feeling well but this was a nice distraction! :3
He looked over to see her all smiles and thumbs up and sing-song giggles that for a brief moment made his heart flutter as if he was nauseous. He found he liked it when cute girls laughed at his jokes. Her smile was infectious and he beamed back at her. He crossed the distance between them and held out his hand for a high five. “We make a solid team, Kit!” He said this time not correcting his nickname, figuring she’d do it if she found it offensive. It was beginning to stick for him.
“Did you want to have another go or…should we return to our seats?” Dennis asked, only motioning to his table as if they were partners his whole time. There was something easy going about her that, despite her many faces, and her taking a bit long to reply to him as if she needed to replay their conversation in her head, he found it easy to be around her.

ReducioHer blue eyes glanced at his outstretched hand, noticing the gesture for a high-five. She gracefully approached and leaned forward to high-five him. “I’m glad you think so, Denners,” she replied, not minding the new nickname she heard: Kit. No one else called her that … to her knowledge. She wasn’t opposed to it. As long as it wasn’t anything demeaning or attempted to make fun of her, she wouldn’t mind at all. There were plenty of other things to worry about, in her opinion, than a nickname.
Then again, Kaitlyn had plenty of worries swimming through her mind. Why add more? Could any more fit in there, even if she really wanted to? She had absolutely no idea. But, frankly, she didn’t wish to find out. She was merely a third-year student so far. There would be plenty of time for extra stress … extra anxiety … just … extra. She wished to have fun now, as not everything would be fun for the entirety of her journey.
Tilting her head to the side, Kaitlyn let the question rummage through her mind. It only took a few moments of internal deliberation. A shake of her head caused her pigtails to float again through the air. “I think I’m fine with our progress, if you are, too,” she offered as her opinion. She glanced at the table he gestured to. Not where she was sitting, but that didn’t particularly matter to her. Her gaze returned to him as she smiled.Word Count:

When Kait Met Dennis
After Makaio had paired everyone off, he watched as everyone casted a myriad of spells at their practice dummies. Some looked a little too eager to do actual damage while others seemed to hesitate. He wondered silently if he should just go ahead and arrest the sadists but remembered that he was now only a teacher. Well, he thought, maybe there was still time for them to come around.
His eye caught the two from earlier that he had paired off first - Mr. Tumberton and Ms. Connor. It seems the Ravenclaw caught his dummy on fire and before Makaio could lift a finger had extinguished it right away. Well, at least he could give some advice! As he walked over, it seemed the Slytherin was already helping the red head so he paused and watched some other students.
The boy tried to cast again and this time did so efficiently. Clearly he wasn’t as needed as he had hoped. The two made quite the transfiguration team. He smiled and when they both seemed to finish, Mr. Tumberton being the last that needed to finish up, Makaio clapped his hands loudly to draw attention back to himself. When he had everyone’s eyes on him he finished out the rest of the lesson.
