Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
For the first time Elena had serious doubts about whether becoming a professor at Hogwarts had really been a smart decision. Her Russian was passable enough for teaching at Koldovstvo, and if she'd had to she could have studied enough German to get by as a Professor in the school that had been reopened in Bavaria.
That boy had just walked past all of them, not saying a word. Was he the kid of one of the Professors? He looked too old to be a student, but Elaine refused to consider him a teacher not merely because he was so young, but because such a lack of manners was a grave insult to one's colleagues... Bazyli hadn't talked to her more than a sentence at a time in her first year at Durmstrang, but he'd been 117 then!
Elena didn't have any more time to consider how rude the boy was, however, as the Kitchens started to fill with the other Professors. She tried to remember as much of them as possible, but most of them weren't overly vocal either.
Ms. Jensen, the Head of Slytherin from what she could remember, had had the foresight to bring alcohol along. That always worked wonders in introducing new staff to the group, though if you couldn't hold your drink it made you the laughingstock of staff the next day – something she'd learnt the hard away at her first casual drinks with her colleagues. Still, with so many new faces a good spirit would lower inhibitions enough for people to get to know each other.
Before she could get up and join Jensen and the gruff professor at the "bar" however, a young, blonde woman bounced into the Kitchens, apparently absolutely delighted at the idea of tasting alcohol. She had a the look of a child getting their hands on the cookie jar on her face and didn't look much older than the boy in the corner - like him she didn't introduce herself either, but Elena couldn't tell if it was intentionally or if she'd simply forgotten at the sight of her colleagues swarming towards the bottle of whiskey.
Now was the time for the fashionably late to arrive - or so it seemed - and in quick succession the Potions Professor and Professor of Transfiguration entered the melee. He looked bored and maybe a little uncomfortable, but at least he was old enough that she didn't have to make a wild guess on whether or not he was a student. The Transfiguration Professor on the other hand... she was a sight, Elena had to give her that. Blind. With a cane in her hand and a beautiful blue cloth covering her eyes. Young, not older than corner boy and the blonde girl. With a mouth on her that she hadn't expected, immediately arguing with the grumpy guy about Japanese cartoons.
So the blind one was the sister of the Japanese-born Professor? They didn't look particularly related to Elena.
Her dark eyes moved between her new fellow teachers. Three young ones, the silent belly-man, gruffy, the Potions Master and Professor Jensen still with the bottle in her hand. The decision really wasn't hard to make.
"I would take you up on that offer as well, Professor Jensen," she said while she walked over towards the counter. Pulling her wand from her sleeve she summoned a set of glasses from a nearby shelf, careful to be on the side of the woman that wasn't crowded by the grumpy Professor and the two sisters arguing with him. "Elena- Pendrast."
She hadn't expected the thing with the name to be that hard.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
As professors and staff began trickling, BonBon was rather surprised by the eclectic group. To his old eyes, some of them appeared barely out of school themselves, much less teachers. Why, when he was in his twenties, he was still very much a student, albeit one that was out of school. That didn’t mean he would doubt their abilities. They wouldn’t be at this school if they couldn’t fulfill their duties.
By far, the women seemed to be the most sociable. With such good company, how could the old man not partake in their company?
“Well salutations, Professor Risa,” BonBon replied to Aoi with a warm smile. “Is that…Japanese I detect? It’s been so long since I heard the language.”
The politeness of the history teacher was marred by the gruff nature of Morfran Griffith, another new arrival. He didn’t bother to introduce himself as anything but a pompous butthole, insulting Aoi before retreating to a corner. BonBon had words for him, but thought better to start something at a time when the staff was to come together.
“Hm, train lag I suppose,” he came up with an excuse for Morfran’s behavior as another entered. And someone who looked like an adult no less. Her presence seemed to be dark, but her mannerisms were nothing but cordial.
“Professor Pendrast,” he greeted the DADA professor. “You’re not intruding at all. You are, after all, an invited guest.”
The red head entered and, like Morfran, placed himself on the opposite side of the room. BonBon had to do a double take: Thurston nearly looked like an upper classman rather than a colleague. His attention was quickly taken by fellow head Nora Jenson. He was about to greet her…until she pulled out a bottle of whiskey. More professors started gathering around, eagerly waiting to partake in the beverage. It seemed most of them were still new to Hogwarts and unaware that drinking wasn’t allowed on school grounds, according to rule #24 of the school rules. He really didn’t want to start things off by enforcing the drinking ban, but rules were rules.
As he went over to the drinkers, BonBon passed Anton and Cypresse. The former was in potions while the girl was in transfiguration. The latter was quite a feat, considering she was blind. Surely, there was more to the story. He’d have to inquire about that later.
“A pleasure to meet you both,” he said to the two. “I apologize for my quick exit, but I have to stop a situation over here.” That was when he approached Nora, Morfran, and both Elaines.
“Now, I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot here,” BonBon began. “but as one of the Heads of Hogwarts, I do feel inclined to inform all of you that this is a dry school. Now, we wouldn’t want rumors to get out and have students think we were skirting the rules behind the scenes, now would we?”
As BonBon would no doubt have earned the disdain of some for being the party pooper, he figured he’d best introduce himself and change the topic.
“Oh, and allow me to introduce myself. Bonabé Bonet. Ilvermorny alumnus, former professor, and current Head of Hufflepuff. My students used to call me Professor BonBon if you’d prefer that.”
As he introduced himself, BonBon pulled out a pitcher. Silently, he filled the pitcher with water from his aspen white wand, a demonstration of his Aguamenti spell. His wand pointed to the pantry, summoning a bag of lemons and a container of sugar.
“As apologies about the whiskey, I offer a drink popular with my No-Maj neighbors down in Louisiana. They call it ‘lemonade’. ”

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’

Hjørdis was surrounded in a matter of moments. First there was the grumpiest man she had met to date in her time at Hogwarts, Morfran Griffith. He immediately perked up, his request sickeningly forced and longwinded. She blinked, wondering why he did not just say 'yes'. He made things so unnecessarily complicated. What she found odd was that for someone who seemed like he hated being around people, he kept finding his way to people. This was the second time he had approached her in a few days.
She watched him for a moment. There was something about him that she just couldn't quite place. It was like she was missing something important and it was incredibly frustrating. Socially forced? There was no obligation here. He did not need to spend a second with her. The lack of his presence could not bother her at all. But nonetheless, if he wanted to talk then she would reply, "Oh, don't feel so pressured. I wouldn't force any social offers on you." You don't even need to talk to me... In fact, I think we would both prefer it if you didn't.
The second was even more worrying. She did not know her name but she was already worried about her. The blonde haired woman was very hyper. She was like a little child. And like a child, she asked for alcohol to try, which instantly worried Hjørdis. How old even was she? She acted like she was no older than the students she was teaching. Should she really be given alcohol?
Hjørdis eyed her up for a moment, "You've never tried alcohol, Professor...?" She trailed off, indicating she needed a name to fill in the blanks there. She had attended the meeting with a mission in mind, after all. That mission involved finding a certain person that was teaching here. Was it her? She kind of hoped it was not... That would have been terrifying. She did not look old enough to be an adult, let alone the person she needed. In truth, it took her every ounce of her lifetime's practice of forcing herself to say 'professor' even when she did not believe the woman was one.
Her mind wandered for a moment in thought. As it did, another professor had appeared. Hjørdis did not look up when the door open but she heard the voice of a woman aimed towards Griffith. Looking up, she examined the lady that had countered whatevery ridiculous thing Griffith did to annoy her. She claimed to be Aoi's sister, which caught the attention of the Slytherin. She knew Aoi a little from working together in the Butterbeer Tasting but she did not know she had a sister here too. The female introduced herself as Cypresse Lian, the Transfiguration Professor.
Hjørdis raised an eyebrow a little. The lady was blind, judging from the cane and blindfold. Remarkable, really. To be skilled at something as difficult as Transfiguration with a visual impairment. Professor Lian appeared to be someone she could tolerate the company of. She seemed like an intelligent, brilliant woman right off the bat and Hjørdis had a lot of time and respect for someone who was skilled. It helped that she was related to someone that Hjørdis also had time for. "Nora Jensen, Head of Slytherin," She repeated for the benefit of those who arrived after her. She was not one to repeat things normally but Professor Lian seemed like someone she would want to get to know in the future.
It was around about then that the other Professor who had entered caught her attention. Or rather, his words did. As she was listening to Lian, she overheard him introducing himself to the room. Anton Nagal, Potions- Wait- Anton Nagal? The Anton Nagal? Hjørdis blinked, doubting her own ears for a moment. Of course she recognised that name. She was the sort of woman that recalled people's names, titles and faces if they were of any importance. It could be of use later. And to her, anyone skilled in alchemy is useful for her to know. She took her own alchemy seriously, after all. Any skilled author, shop owner, potioneer was worth knowing. Now, he was probably not the only one of his name. However, how many of them were into potions? What were the chances? It was him, wasn't it?
She looked over, her eyes falling onto the potioneer. For a split second, there was a bit of shock on her face but it was quickly masked. Hjørdis just stared at him, almost with an indifferent look like she gave everyone. The only difference was that her brain was going crazy internally. The Anton Nagal, the same skilled alchemist that opened up a shop not too far from Hogwarts actually... But more importantly: What the heck is he doing here? Of all places, Hogwarts did not seem to be the place for someone who had a skilled career.
I- Wh-
Realising that she looked like some crazy fangirl, just staring at him for way too long, she quickly teared her eyes away to the sound of a female voice near her. He was going to think she was a stalker at this rate. Or maybe he was used to being stared at - the cons of fame, perhaps. A dark haired woman appeared near the counter, bringing some glasses. Hjørdis simply nodded towards the lady, absentmindedly. The female introduced herself as Elena Pendrast. For a second, Hjørdis thought she was the person that she had come here for. Her hopes were soon dashed. The name did not match up. However, catching the surname, she nodded once to herself.
Professor Pendrast was a Slytherin, if she was correct. She had been informed that there were three Slytherin professors besides her when she started, two of which were also new. She had already met the one that she knew was Risa and the other was apparently someone called Pendrast. The dark haired lady ignored the arguing that appeared to go on - which sounded smart at this point.
She was about to start pouring drinks for those who requested some. However, before she could do so, an older man appeared holding a mental rulebook. Eurgh. The rules did not apply to drinking age adults but Hjørdis was in no mood to argue. She was trying to distract herself from saying something incredibly stalkerish in front of the potioneer whilst attempting to find this person she needed to meet. She had no idea there would be two others of interest to her: Professor Lian and Nagal.
The man introduced himself as Professor Bonet, offering a drink known as 'lemonade'. Nodding absentmindedly, "Ah, yes, lemonade would work." She managed to get out. She made no apology or comment about the rules. Hjørdis did not think she did anything wrong, nor did she want to suck up to him. His opinion of her did not bother her in the slightest. She just simply wanted to avoid an argument over something as petty as this in front of everyone - especially when she still had to figure things out and arguing may have left a bad impression on the person she wanted to find.
As soon as she agreed to the lemonate however, she realised she did not want nothing to do. Standing there without doing something would drive her mind crazy. Her expression tended to be cold, emotionless and indifferent but her mind was going mental on the inside, "Or perhaps tea? Tea is good. I'll make some." She quickly added on as she turned and started rooting around the counter for a teapot and the tea to go into it. She could make tea for everyone. That gave her something to do. And somewhere to look that did not make her look like a freakish fangirl.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
Time was relative; especially when one was not conscious. Sebastián had no real clue exactly how much time had passed. It could have been a couple of days or a couple of years and he'd feel no different. He had to get to Hogwarts as fast as he could to see what was going on. Last he heard, just before departing, there had been some development with the mask. It was a bit fuzzy for him but he knew, as Deputy Headmaster, he had to be at the school to help. The weather gave him some clues but he was a bit... inebriated still so he did not notice. The apparition was ugly, the running was uglier, and the first impression would be the ugliest.
"Dond... where is everyone?" He slurred out to himself trying to keep himself to English at least. "I need... food... so drunk... ha..."
The Spaniard stumbled down the stairs towards the dungeons like a rag doll moments away from a full tumble. Down here he would find the kitchens which were always full of life. A wonderful assortment of snacks and drinks could help sober up the poor man. He had no idea that people had been gathering inside to meet. He had no idea that it was a new school year with so many new professors. Had he been sober, maybe Sebas would consider they all ran from the problems sprouting up with the mask. Maybe they thought he had done the same. Sebastián Cazarez the former Curse-Breaker did not run from a cursed object.
"Food please, thomthing heav..." he stopped as he broke into the room harshly and noticed it was not the crowd he had expected. "Uh... hola..."
Right on cue, as if the universe were conspiring against the poor Spanish man, he let out an unflattering belch. He only really recognized, especially in the current state, Thurston in the group. Every single person besides him... well... a blurry stranger intruding on his school. He drunkenly reached for his wand but when he went to point it, it was aimed at a wall. Sebas was in pretty bad shape at the moment. The wand was a bit wobbly too and he wouldn't be able to really do anything if he wanted.
"Who... who in... the... what..." He stammered before snapping back to some sort of awareness again. "The fuck you all doing here and who... who are you?"
Before getting any answers, Cazarez fell over onto a table and dropped his wand. A groan escaped and he seemed super drunk, or ill. A combination of both perhaps now that the potion or charm or whatever it was finally was wearing off. Sweat and blood matted his robes, mostly sweat though. His nose seemed to have recently dried up from a nose bleed. His beard was not nearly as well groomed as usual while his hair was a crazy mess. He needed a nap and some heavy food. Maybe a nurse too.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
“Indeed it is Professor. Thank you for recognizing it. I often speak it without thought. Call it an idiosyncrasy if you like.” Aoi replied, watching as the Hufflepuff HoH went off to deliver social pleasantries.
This was an important meeting. A strong introduction to her colleagues could help her maintain her position, an important thing considering the turnover rate the school had been experiencing. She didn’t want to go anywhere, and so she kept that in mind as a Professor she had already met proceede to coldly judge not only her, but her native language, her first language. Her eyebrow twitched noticeably. A flare of temper, quickly suppressed by the young Japanese woman. Professor had lost any chance of earning respect from Aoi at his point. No more benefit of the doubt. He was cut off from here, and no help would be provided to him, no matter how much he needed it from her. In her mind, his opinion had become irrelevant to her. Just like that.
As Professor Pendrast entered Aoi lit up a bit more. This Professor seemed much more mannerly, if not reserved. Aoi admired the woman’s fashion sense, always having an eye for how people dress. After all, such choices influenced how people choose to see you.
“Hello, Professor Pendrast. My name is Aoi Risa. The History of Magic Professor.” She shot a quick glare at Griffith as she spoke. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
In short order, another person entered. A younger man, with distinctive hair and eyes. He seemed somber, and emitted naught but silence. Perhaps a more introspective type? It wasn’t Aoi’s business as she was new here. If the man wanted to talk, he would. No need to push it, right?
Next was Aoi’s own Head of House, a woman she had already met, and respected. Professor Jensen. Aoi gave a quick bow in response to Nora’s nod at her. A traditional deference to her superior. The woman withdrew alcohol though, and Aoi closed up a little. Normally a social person, she had a particular distaste of alcohol. Personal reasons. Aoi would find non-alcoholic company shortly.
Professor Seabourne seemed like a literal child. It was admirable. That was what true social freedom looked like. The woman lived life in her own way on her own terms. That said, Aoi didn’t think it belonged here. This was a place to teach, and with recent incidences, those that could protect students seemed more needed than freedom of spirit. Then again, perhaps the woman was deceiving. Aoi would give her a chance. Actions always spoke far louder than words ever could.
The Potions Professor was straight to the point. No unneeded words or actions. Which to Aoi seemed fairly accurate. A man of efficiency would clearly be the result of alchemic proficiency. She looked forward to how well the students fared in his class.
As she pondered a welcome sight made her way into the room. It was her sister, Cypresse. Aoi had a smile plastered on her face, an aura of warmth radiating out from her. She adored Cy, and was beyond excited to teach alongside her. Not only was Cy here, but she was here with her trademark sass. Aoi’s smile only grew at her sister’s verbal lashing of the esteemed Professor Griffith. “I’m so glad you made it here safely Cy. And your defense of my honor is a welcome endeavor as well. I’ll be sure to repay you later. How does a new scarf sound? I still have a few I’ve been meaning to give to you.”
Aoi had lost track of the conversations occurring in the room. She was feeling a bit tired, enjoying the company of her sister and fellow Professors, barring one. Suddenly another man burst into the room. He was asking for...food? Well, the kitchen did seem the right place. But the man seemed decidedly drunk. How appalling. He let out a belch, and drew his wand, pointing it unsteadily. Aoi had her own wand instantly, a reflex from her previous line of work. It had twirled up from a pocket in her sleeve to her hand within a second. It was not needed though as the man dropped clearly in bad shape. Aoi rushed over to him, kneeling down to examine the wounds. Nothing major or even moderate was obvious, but he could’ve been poisoned.
“Can you hear me? Are you ok? What happened to you?”

Sometimes, making the wrong choice is better than making no choice. You have the courage to go forward, that is rare.

No sooner had she finished speaking did she turn toward Aoi, grinning as her sister spoke. Her ears caught the ongoing conversation between the Heads of House and some other new professors, but she paid it no mind - she had only recently turned twenty-one; alcohol was a distant idea in her mind. The young woman took a moment to memorize the various men and womens' voices, registering the Hufflepuff Head of House's cordial tone, the introduction of Professor Jensen. She offered a smile of her own in return.
She did not mind the perceived surprise at her blindness. No, she did mind, but it was worth nothing beyond a roll of her eyes - which, for those less educated, she was capable of. How she knew that it lingered was not of importance and not within her knowledge, but the subconscious pause before speech as her visual impairment was recognized, the consideration of a teacher with such a disability - that she was familiar with. Only Aoi did not look her up and down for a moment before speaking to her, but it was not something that she knew to be controlled, only instinctive.
"You shouldn't spend so much on me," Cy chided her sister, but did not protest further. Both women knew that there was no curbing Aoi's shopping impulses for long - and she would be lying if she said that the scarves were not beautiful, and not only aesthetically. "But the same to you."
It was at that moment that she whirled, wand out, the edge of her clothing nearly catching on the corner of a table but escaping by a hair's breadth, at the intrusion of a man's voice and uneven footsteps. Instinctively as others' reactions to her, Cypresse began to note each sound she heard: Hard steps, stumbling, slurred words, the beginning of a word that she did not quite catch. An accent, if it could be distinguished under the mask of drunkenness.
Typical for a conversation of alcohol to turn into a manifestation of it. Sighing, the professor tested her surroundings with her cane for a moment, then stepped forward to join her sister - either lying or kneeling on the ground, from the source of her voice. Cy went with the latter.
Well then. The man stumbled in drunken, in quite a bedraggled shape, and cursed at them, then fell onto a table - that was what happened, wasn't it? She did not stow her wand, in case it would prove useful. How drunk was this man, exactly? He'd suffer for it in the morning, but that was not their problem... or perhaps it was, depending on who he was. Regardless, Aoi had come to assist; even without her sister's example, she recognized that she likely should as well.
"A little help, anyone?" the woman called over her shoulder, not certain how exactly the intrusion could go unnoticed but adamant on making it not so. She turned her attention back to the person, whomever he was, hoping nothing moronic would happen. "Who are you?" she stated bluntly, not wanting to confuse her words with any others. She bit back her next words: Other than drunk, which we can tell without your announcement.
Briefly she considered removing her blindfold to allow for her blindsight to react to any sudden action that might be made. A hand moved to the back of her head, and she pulled the tail of the knot away from the loop, allowing for the scarf to slip away from her black locks. After tucking the scarf into her bracelet, she tapped her sister on the arm, the familiar feel of fabric under her finger shifting slightly. "Aoi," she murmured. "What's happening?"
She was relatively certain most of the situation could be deducted by hearing alone, but there were details that simply could not be picked up without vision, and Aoi's training allowed for quite a sharp gaze that Cy could ask for information. Probably drunk person, wants food, some crashing noise that either signified his falling onto the ground or knocking into something in the Kitchen - she could not tell which one. Did he look ill in any way apart from alcohol? Could he be another professor? The questions frustrated her, begging for answers.
The Professor of Transfiguration waved a hand to the House Elves she could hear to her right. "A glass of water, please?" She roamed over the sounds of his entrance again as the patter of small feet echoed away - heavy footsteps, likely down the stairs, voices, a few slurred words, crash... and a lighter clatter, as if he had dropped something. Nudging her sister again, consequences aside, she voiced her concerns. "Sounds like he dropped something? Wand, maybe?" Which was unlikely unless it had been out in the first place... an event that, quite vexingly, she could not determine either.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
This year there were more professors to count than any normal school. So many professors had been fired, retired or left the school for their own personal reasons, making every faculty face a new one. It was the reason all professors were forced to meet and greet each other in the beginning of the school year. This was perhaps one of the many forceful events she wished she did not have to do. Maya's focus was to teach the students-- anything more was not on her to do list. But alas, she did not want to end up like the many professors from the year prior and bit her pride.
The meeting was meant to be in the kitchens and not in the Great Hall where students can see the awkward social interactions between the professors. At least this was what Maya had assumed.
Late to the party, Maya walked into the kitchens, her red hood covering most of her face. She was able to see quite a bit of professors already mingling with one another. While she would have had rather been in a corner, watching the interactions unfold, her brown eyes could not help but to watch two professors asking if another professor was okay. The two professors were females, both whom were unfamiliar to Maya. However, the professor they were referring to, was none other than Sebastian Cazarez. Maya rolled her eyes and sighed as she knew he would do anything to get the ladies to hover around him at any given moment.
She walked towards the crab and could smell the alcohol reaping from his breath. Drunk. How fun, she thought, her red lips turning to a half-smirk. She gently pushed the ladies away from him and grabbed the top of his ear as hard as she could and began to pull upwards. Maya bent her back so that her lips were close to the ear she was grabbing.
"This is how you come to school-- to your work? Drunk?" she said sternly, her accent thick. "You have some חוצפה. Get up!" Maya pulled slightly harder, ignoring anyone else's demands on the situation. She knew Cazarez fairly well, and this was the only way to get through his stubborn head.

Sebas had no idea why he was drunk. His memory was a bit fuzzy at the moment to say the very least. All he knew was that he had escaped and had to get back to the school. The following commotion did not fully register with the Spaniard but he did notice Aoi leaning closer to check in on him. It was a strange, new, and beautiful face. Sebastián Cazarez was dead, and this was the angel that came to collect him. His mouth opened to respond to her but luckilyy for both of them, Maya stepped in. She grabbed Sebastián by the ear and began to drag him up.
"No..." He nearly hurled as he tried to tell her to stop. "It's not... what you think..."
He'd always recognize Maya Galim. She was not hard to spot with how unique she was inside this school. Even drunk, drugged, and sickly Sebas knew it was her. He needed help but she just saw him as a drunk flirt. That was probably fair considering his past with her. A sober Sebas would have laughed at the situation. Drunk Sebas started to cry. It was ugly. This was certainly not the first impression he would want to make on a new set of staff. Especially the beautiful ones.
"Not.. drunk..." The man, feeling like utter trash, sobbed to Maya and the others. "Drugged... and drunk..."
Cazarez was now on his feet against his will, standing rather than falling from Maya's pull. It took a lot of effort. He pointed at a House-Elf while grabbing the water offered to him. It was probably horrifying to watch a crying, drunken, and abused man chug water between uncontrollable sobs. Water got all over his already filthy and battered robes. The cold water helped spark him a little, but he was by no means better yet.
"Ok... I need to sit..."" He managed to stop crying for the moment as he awkwardly sat on the table, gripping his head with one hand. "Tell Fain to... bring a good antidote..."
He had no idea what all had changed. In his mind it could have been a week, not an entire summer. At least now he was in a good place and could slowly recover. It would take a bit to catch him up. Only a few things had remained unchanged.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
She was late! The Gryffindor Tower was so far from the Kitchens, and it was unbearably sparely decorated. Sorrel had spent the afternoon decorating the common room in lovely shades of red and yellow, making sure to add dashes of green flora to the room. It was cozy to start with, but the room was downright adorable when Sorrel was done with it. Naturally, this endeavor had taken all day and Sorrel had lost track of time.
Billowing red skirts made a trail down the stairs to the Kitchen, as the new head of Gryffindor grumbled and huffed down the stairs, hair a mess and dress stained with dirt from the various flowers she had jammed into small pots around the common room. Stopping to smile fondly at the few house elves who hadn't left yet, Sorrel Wright entered the Kitchens and promptly froze, hands curling into the fabric of her dress and eyes widening in confused horror.
Good god, was this the wrong room? The woman was used to being the youngest member of the staff team, picked to be the Herbology teacher so young because of her studies abroad and her schooling at the legendary school of Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures in Brazil, Castelobruxo--which had far older staff than this assorted group that now stood in front of Sorrel, in various stages of disarray and conflict. British wizards really were the worst. Always fighting and always bickering and prone to not notice the real important matters, like actually grading homework or worrying about the students.
There was one on staff younger than her, apparently a strange professor of Astronomy, but now? Now she was faintly sure she was at the wrong kitchen gathering. Catching sight of a few people older than herself, the woman assured herself that she wasn't, in fact, at a student made gathering. It wasn't enough to clear her worries completely, but it wasn't exactly like Sorrel was a social butterfly. Hell, she spent most of her days worrying about various things and found temporary released through the elaborate outfits she wore and the beautiful plants she admired and experimented on.
Lips pursing together into a faint lipped smile, Sorrel's eyes studied the newcomers of the room. Feeling a pang of remorse at the disappearance of the beautiful divination professor, she walked over towards the platter of assorted vegetables, forgoing conversation due to her shy nature.
Head downturned, as if to avoid any glances or whispers assuring Sorrel that she did not deserve her new position, Sorrel let out a low breath of air when she was finally safe from the hoarse of people. More than content to snack on some of the food and hopefully engage in conversation when her heart wasn't constricting like a venus fly-trap in her chest.
These plans were ruined by the crashing noises of Sebastian entering. Sorrel felt her soft smile fade away at the sight of the loud and boorish man, but something seemed off about him. Oh god. He was drunk! The woman let out a loud gasp, hands moving upwards to clasp at her mouth with a disgusted look on her face.
Sorrel moved forward to join Maya in criticizing Sebastian. She did not assist the woman in pulling Sebastian up, rather squared her shoulders and frowned at the man. For one so shy and nice, it was rather terrifying to see Sorrel angry."Sebastian, there are children at this school! You have an awful lot of nerve to show up drunk! You could endanger them, or make a bad exampl-"
Her words trailed off, as Sorrel's face paled and she took a good hard look at the sobbing man. Something was terribly off, and this was not the flirtatious man that Sorrel had adamantly detested after his pathetic attempts to flirt with half of the professor population.
" Drugged and drunk? Sebastian, why are you cross faded?" The woman crossed her arms, but slowly put two and two together. Eyes widening again, Sorrel took a step back, hand clasped to her chest.
" Querido Deus. " She cursed under her breath, softly inhaling another breath to soothe her worry. On closer inspection, the man looked sick and even worse for ware than Sorrel had previously assumed.
"May someone retrieve our new potions master, and may one of you fetch us a nurse? Sorrel asked the house elves, in her simple whisper of a voice, although more authority than usual carried in her words, as she snapped herself into shape for the sake of the man in front of her.

Meetin’ and Greetin’ and Eatin’
Anton simply nodded towards the stout man as he passed, heading towards the group who needed a bit more attention. He stood by the door, leaned against the wall as he watched silently, observing. An Asian lady, a girl who barely looked old enough to be a Professor, a Werewolf-man, and another woman who looked like the mortal death were chatting around another with alcohol. He didn't need to make rude accusations about the silver haired skeleton, but he simply rose an eyebrow in her direction when he caught the look. He'd ignore the group for now, but he found it quite amusing that 'Professor BonBon' was busy scolding them.
How many of them went to Hogwarts, and didn't know the basic rules of the school? Then again, potions could easily get one drunk, and it wasn't like Anton couldn't say he couldn't make something stronger than whatever had been confiscated.
He stayed where he was, lost in thought as he observed the rest of the group. A woman with a scarf. A younger man, barely interested in anything besides himself. And then... and then there was the commotion. Anton rose an eyebrow as the man stumbled himself in. It was a swirl of women surrounding this one man as he ended up falling over, burping, and making a fool of himself. He noticed when an unsteady wand was pointed, the Asian lady reacted. How unnecessary. Pulling wands against one another. Anton was none too impressed. It was like shaming a puppy who didn't know better.
After this drunken fool came two more women: little red riding hood and... who knew. He couldn't seem to ping the other lady, but he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as he observed. The drunken fool was asking about this Fain guy - Anton had heard the name ever so briefly as the previous potions master - and then the newest lady had asked a house elf to find 'the new potion's master'. The elf looked particularly stressed since, one glance by the door, the new potion master had already been there. He just didn't care to help right away.
Anton just stayed where he was for a long moment, another observation. He had potions on him. He always had potions on him. He observed, thinking; Calming Draught? He had made some of it earlier to show to fourth years. It probably wouldn't counteract the drunkness, but it'd calm him from the ugly sobbing the man was doing. His eyes trailed from the drunk man and three women and towards the silver haired skeleton. Just a glance. A curious look to see what she was doing.
Not that it mattered to him, anyways.
He pondered this for a long moment before he moved himself towards the drunken man. "It's rather unnecessary to ask the house elves to find me when I've been here all along. A good potion master doesn't just allow a drunken fool to drink any old potion. That's the lack of a good potion master," he said curtly. It was true. A lot of the time he spent was watching, making sure that whatever potion he used would be the correct one. It was a science; it wasn't the same as transfiguration or charms, which was just a flick of the wrist and the wand, and it wasn't like History of Magic which was nothing but lectures from a book. But, he wouldn't complain. He wouldn't even argue.
He moved himself so he was standing in front of the man, and opened a small bag that he had on his person. It was magically charmed to fit plenty of things inside, although he wouldn't inform anyone of that. "Evening. Fain isn't here anymore, but I am. It's nice to meet you. Now, Mr. Drunkard, please drink this." he pulled out a small vial, slightly blue in tint, and swirled the contents around. After a moment, he popped the cork.
Anton wouldn't trust this drunken fool to drink the whole antidote without help, considering how he couldn't even drink a cup of water so if Sebastian attempted to help, he'd simply bat the hands away and push the tip of the bottle towards the other man's lips. He'd make sure the man got all of the potion without spilling a drop and wasting it all.
