Carina's gaze lingered on Pamela as she spoke, then lifted again toward the stretch of stars overhead. The corners of her mouth softened, almost a smile. 'Sometimes I think the stars tell you more than people do,' she said quietly. 'You can look up and find the same shapes every night, even if everything else has changed.'

Her eyes traced a familiar path across the sky, and she raised a hand to gesture, 'See there?' She tilted her chin toward the darker stretch above the treeline. 'That's Orion. The three stars in a row, his belt. In any case both of you didn't know. And that little cluster just above, it's the Pleiades. Some people call them the Seven Sisters.' Her voice softened a little, carrying a note of fondness. 'They say if you can spot them all, you're lucky. But I never can. I think I only ever find five.'

She shifted slightly on the grass, folding her hands loosely in her lap, her eyes still lifted. 'I like how they've always been there, even before we gave them names. And they'll still be there long after us. Makes everything else feel...smaller, in a good way.'

Her gaze flicked toward Gabriele and Pamela, a spark of curiosity in her tone now. 'Do either of you know any constellations? Maybe we'll find something I've missed.'

Speech -- Thoughts

Gabriele.

Pam watched the boy as he... attempted to make a joke on her name. Admittedly, it fell flat. The name Pamela Anderson rang a bell faintly, but not enough for her to remember who the latter was or understand what exactly the joke was.

His question got her though. Who was she pretending to be when she was with people? Pam had never actually thought about it. The first answer that came to her was 'an extroverted version of herself'; a version that was.... more accepting of human nuances, or atleast she tried to be. She wasn't really sure if she did a very good job of not being a judgemental eleven-year-old. Pam did like meeting new people, but her social battery ran out way too quick. It was like she started the day with it charged to thirty instead of a hundred.

She was spared from answering him as Carina spoke up again, her voice gentle against the quiet night. Pam welcomed the change of topic, turning her attention to the sky too. The stars twinkled like stars— stars can't twinkle like stars dumbass, find a different word. The girl shook her head, a grin twitching on her lips from her own internal monologue. She really needed to stop creating random pieces of prose for everything she saw. Diamonds work though. Okay, focus.

"There's Taurus." Pam raised a hand to gently point out the constellation after which the bull zodiac was named. "It's supposed to have nineteen main stars I believe." She could currently seeking about eight, give or take. Close enough— she doubted that the stars were keeping count anyway.
OOC: Sorry this is late! Again.

His question (and hilarious joke) was pretty much ignored, moving the conversation to star constellations instead. A topic Gabriele thought was so fucking uninteresting, he rolled his eyes. Granted, he wasn’t having much fun to begin with, so the change of topic didn’t make a huge different in terms of his general experience. Classic. When they pointed out a few like Taurus and Orion in the sky, cigarette between his lips for another pull, he squinted towards it. Except for random flecks of light in the sky, he couldn't see fucking shit. What was he looking at? Maybe he needed glasses. More likely than not, he just didn't know enough constellations to recognize them.

Letting the two girls bond over stars alone, Gabi focused on finishing off the rest of his cigarette. When only a short butt was left, he sighed loudly, rubbing out the last fire against the stone floor beside him. Then he tossed the butt over the railing with a flick of his wrist, no care about where it landed. The thought didn't cross him until after the fact. A bit guilty over what he'd just had done, the Italian was frozen in place, staring at where he'd just tossed the cigarette. Fuck, that was not very good for the environment... Whatever, they were all dying from pollution one of these days, regardless. If he didn't get eaten by a dragon first, or beaten with a broom by Avis.

"Ight... That's enough depression for one evening. Imma head out," he announced, pulling himself up on his feet and dusting off his clothes. "Have fun, I guess... looking at stars."
