───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Tears of an Owl The collected musings over a certain Núria Serra-Coromines. Read and annotated by her father, Aniol Serra-Alsius, lovingly, but through silent tears. This encompasses the young Catalan girl’s journey thus far through her on-going life.
The Hatchling's Fall From Grace
That was her first and only moment of untarnished life, pure and unknowing of the world’s sorrows. Those things never last long, in Núria’s experience, however limited it might be. Alas, all things, good or bad, must come to an end. Her parents had adored her from the start, though perhaps one more intrigued about who this small being might turn out to be. And though Aniol and Laia could never tell, they certainly played a role in how she grew to be. For the first six years of her life she was happily raised in Barcelona by her two loving parents and a whole host of relatives. Aniol’s relatives {Serra} were more distant, shallow at a glance, but that is merely an illusion. They raised him to be proficient at most things save for relations. The Serra couple are a quiet pair, viewing Rhea with curious eyes, paired with something she can hardly describe. A mix of weariness, sadness, nostalgia, and heartfelt emotion that Rhea wishes she had a name for. Quite a name it would have to be, indeed. The Coromines, on the other hand, are a loving– albeit rowdy– lot. She doesn't want to try and count the cousins, knowing there would always be some sick, or another on the way. Laia has four sisters and a lonesome brother, almost all married with at least one kid. {The Coromines family will remain unnamed at this time, too many Spanish/Catalan names I don't wanna come up with/find.} In September of 20XX {Rhea age 6} the family promptly started packing for England after a hurried visit from her paternal grandparents {Serras}. Rhea was never told why they abruptly moved, save for thinly veiled excuses about ‘job opportunities’ and ‘change in scenery’. It’s a far away memory in her mind now, with her only remembering the fact that they moved, and a lot of fragmented memories of Barcelona. Spain is only an origin point for the wandering Catalan girl. England is the next stop, not the destination by any means. The world fears she is just getting started. | x | ─────────────────────![]()

────────── ![]() | Núria and her parents moved to Santon Downham, a village and civil parish located in Suffolk, England, nestled within Thetford Forest on the Norfolk-Suffolk border. Of course, Núria had no clue what any of that meant other than new, scary, and village. For the first while they stayed in an unassuming tent just in the forest, claiming to the locals they were just camping through the countryside. Of course, they were planning for a much longer stay indeed. |
|
During the few weeks it took them to pack up and leave Barcelona, construction plans had started on a house just into the woods near the small village. Aniol and Laia took some creative liberties and helped in the architectural design even amidst the rush and stress of quickly relocating. Some poor local muggles had their memories altered slightly to accommodate for the new surprise of a house showing up just on the outskirts. There were also a heavy amount of concealment charms placed around the house so it was avoided by the majority of the village's populace. Santon Downham was a place where Rhea’s lonely anti-social tendencies flourished. She has social skills, yes, but her want for solitude was only encouraged by her parents, even if not consciously. Her father fancied himself to be a sort of scholar or poet. He also has a tendency towards Defense Against the Dark Arts, which likely prompted his becoming an Auror, though he rarely is working in that respect. Rhea’s mother, on the other hand, is a seamstress. Often Laia would spend hours in her sewing room, humming to herself and sewing. It wasn’t anything special, but it was occasionally heartfelt and loving, if lonely. The matter of Rhea’s schooling was taken up by both of her parents in turn, her mother teaching her the finer things; music, sewing, and craftsmanship of all sorts, including Rhea’s distraction of choice: woodcarving. Aniol gave Núria the lessons she needed in the more core subjects. Arithmetic, basic history, some science, and a whole abundance of literature. Literature was something Rhea and her father bonded over, even through their different levels of understanding. Perhaps because of it. Aniol also taught his Daughter her fair share of muggle culture, however varying it was. Despite loving solitude himself, he understood that Rhea could not be holed up in the nest of their home forever. She would need to make friends with the other kids in the Village and, eventually, Hogwarts. That would still be for a while, of course, so he didn’t worry too much. Another way Rhea spent her solitude was through teaching herself piano. Her mother had taught the basics that she herself had learned as a young girl, but Núria pursued it further. A year or two after moving to England they had acquired a grand piano for their rather sparse living room. The whole house was rather sparse, actually, save for their rooms and spaces in which their distraction of choice was practiced. Núria became quite good at her craft, her long practice sessions a sort of background music to the saddened lives her family lived out. She was partial to the more difficult pieces, seeking a challenge where everything was only a matter of time. Magic had been introduced into Núria’s life a mere few months before leaving Spain, prompting many a long lecture from her father about magical theory and keeping a hold of her emotions so she wouldn’t break anything. ![]() An omen? A witness. Nothing forwarns, simply watches in disinterested apathy. | Tears of an Owl: Death of a Raven Ferran Tallaferro died mid-august of 20XX from an unknown cause, believed to be a dark spell or something undetectable of malicious intent. It was eventually deemed to have been by his own hand, and inquiries over how it came to be ceased. Both Laia and Aniol were close childhood friends with Ferran, though at separate stages in each of their lives. Rhea's parents shed many a tear over Mr. Tallaferro, though oddly enough they did not attend any part of the burial rites. While Rhea did not know Ferran personally and grief was still an odd concept for a six-year-old, she was saddened for her parents sakes. After the death, Núria got the pleasure of seeing her Paternal grandparents much more. The Serras knew it was hard on Aniol and Laia, and Rhea could often be found trying to listen to their converstaions through the thick door of her father's study. Alas, she never heard much more than the telltale sounds of whispers in urgent tones. After a week or two Núria simply assumed they had began to talk of the ever approaching prospect of moving to England. Ferran Tallaferro's death is now merely a faint memory of tears and hushed voices in Rhea's mind, hardly remembering anything of it. Now, you might ask, whatever is the meaning for this, then? All in due time. |

That being, they were on good terms with all, though not standing out among a list of friends.

Though this does not mean that the Serra Alsius family was not a loving one, they merely showed it differently. Laia, and now Rhea, are like their own daughters {by law, and by blood, technically}. The Serra Alsius side of Rhea's family had always been her favoured relations. Loving, but understanding. It also helped that Aloma and Oriol spoiled her rotten.

Anyway! I have fallen into the trap of coding... so much coding. I do now realize what people find so enjoyable about it, and I have started my own endeavors. I thrive off of praise so I'll be displaying some of my coding here just so I have like. a place to put it for future use totally not because i'm insanely narcissistic
This is Graci's ency!
and this is Jarden's
I like Jardens much more, though I do think the idea for graci's is quite intriguing, though poorly executed as that was one of the first real codes I did for myself. I wish Jarden's was a bit more uniform and that I stayed with the path theme a little more, but what's done is done. Now, no one wants to read my yapping why are you here then? so now coding time!!
{this also acts a a placeholder for a future gen ency i'm planning<333 Rhea, my beloved, unfortunate child}

Now, the walls have gotten taller, the train station a little more run down, and ivy crawls all over the stone towers. Klava doesn’t know how the plants grew in all the snowy weather, but in imagination she never bothered to think about it too hard. She had spent so long with the base as her preferred mental happy place that whenever she closes her eyes it’s like she’s right back there again. It’s mid-winter, Artyom is still alive, and the world is right again. The four towers are terribly lonely with no one to enjoy them with. The walls seem terribly insurmountable, and Klava is safe. From everyone and everything but herself, and her lost sense of purpose and place in the world.

Her heart was a dark forest, her soul all the wild things which dwelt between the trees.
Her life was a mundane one, boring in theory, but every day was another adventure. The end of her mundane insanity occurred on a spring day in 20XX, in which the ice was shining in the sunlight, melting slightly, though still percieved as thick. Artyom was 9, Klavdiya 10. Klava's younger brother had always been an early riser, exploring the woods around their house any moment he could, and usually bringing back small tidbits to show Klava and their parents. that spring day was no different, Artyom out early as dawn would permit, picking his way over the sheet on ice covering the river to see how close he could get to a bird*. Thinning ice is never good. Even with his slight stature even among giant offspring, cracks are relatively inevitable on thin ice no matter ones build. A crack, a moment of terror, a slip, a cry, and foaming waters. She had just walked out the edge of the woods when she saw his blue tinged hand slipping under the water.
Nothing was ever the same. Details would do no good, only the fact that life was from then on bleak. Dark, and sad. Tearstained, if anything, and devoid of the bright streak of vitality Artyom brought to their small household. Klava continued her studies, lost and confused in regards to her place in the world. The knowledge she would soon be joining Durmstrang was a welcome reprieve from her mind, in the year after Artyom's death.
*Klava, of course, does not know this, but I, the omnipotent author, do.

In the left tower, furthest from the entrance gate, there is a warm, homely basement with file cupboards spanning the walls, holding old records of inhabitants, histories, wars, and all manner of meticulously ordered documents ready to be filled out. There's an inkwell on a tiny, lamplit table in the corner, a sheaf of parchment besides it and a quill with long dried ink. It's been long since Klavdiya visited the Record room.

"утешение." ───────"Solace." | ─ | Klavdiya is a generally cold person, guarded, though inexplicably curious. If you get her to start living in the moment instead of the corridors in her mind, she will smile and laugh until she seems like a completely different person. She prefers old folk tales over most other books, and she's decidedly fascinated with magic. Klava has a penchant for organization, though judging by the state of her things most of the time, no one would ever know. Organized chaos, she would call it if anyone asked. She has a quick temper, angry one moment and then immediately walking away so she doesn't start profusely apologizing. She has an image to maintain or something else that's code for 'Feelings? never seen one'. Patience is a virtue... that she does not possess. Immediate gratification would be preferable, in her mind. Most would describe her as 'spacey' if she were spied on, disassociating into her four towers, drowning in the snow filled silence. | ───── |
She said, " Don't you feel powerless living in other people's worlds?"
