I love how active this club is!
Also, here's a weekly verse! I was going to do this in the old club, but completely forgot! I'll try to start doing it here!
1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

This thread's been rather quiet lately
figured I shd break the silence with a lil update on what God's been doin for me
Sooo for some background info... I've always been the top student in school since young. I performed consistently well, did better than others, accumulated a buncha academic awards till even some of my closest friends started getting jealous ._.
Over the years that became what I was known for. What I tool pride in. I couldn't stand not performing well in tests. Anything short of a distinction felt like a massive failure.
My midterms this year came, and for whatever reason, I realised I wasn't able to perform as well as I used to. I'm not sure how to describe how I felt... a mix of panic, worry, fear, despair and confusion expressed in quiet sobs I didn't want the world to see.
I felt like I was losing myself.
I went for an overseas church camp shortly afterwards; one I wasn't particularly looking forward to. I've been to many in my life, but this one was different. At the end of it I felt like God was telling me something - to let go of my worries and put my identity in Him.
It wasn't easy. Some times I felt like I was progressing a step forward but then taking five steps back when my old thinking patterns started to kick in.
I'd try to remind myself that all I had to do was try my best and that it wasn't my fault if I messed up my tests. That God is sovereign over all things and has a plan for me. That I can rejoice no matter what score I get because he knows that's the best outcome for me in the long run, whatever his reasons may be. I just needed to trust Him.
I only saw the change when da next batch of exams came around. For the first time ever I felt like I didn't have to do well to prove myself. I've never felt so rested and liberated during my exams season before. I've never felt so much... joy.
It's still a struggle trying to shake off my old identity, but I'm not gonna forget this peace God has given me easily. It's time I find my worth in something the world can never take away from me - the unchanging love of Jesus

That’s incredible to hear! Your story is really touching, and I think it’s something a lot of people can relate to. For me, I’ve found that when I trust in God my life feels much lighter. I’ve seen firsthand how God can work through church camps, and I’m so glad to hear how He was moving in your life!Joseph Sims wrote: 21 Aug 2025, 01:05ReducioThis thread's been rather quiet latelyfigured I shd break the silence with a lil update on what God's been doin for me

For me, the start of the school year is coming up, and I’m the type of person who wants to do everything! Juggling my schedule as a high school student has been a lot, and while it is something I can manage, it’s also something that I stress about. For me, I love to talk to God when I’m trying to fall asleep. A few nights ago, I was trying to fall asleep, and God spoke to me and gave me a Bible verse to read. The verse was Matthew 6:28! (“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,”
Matthew 6:28 NLT)
While the verse itself wasn’t all that was important, the entire passage was about how all of God’s creations are cared for by God himself. God will provide for us, the same way he has the flowers or the birds. The verse at the end has become one of my all-time favorites: Matthew 6:34. (“Therefore do not worry tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s troubles are enough for today.”)
Even if you’re someone who loves to worry about things outside of your control (like me), remember that God will provide in His own way. The only thing you can change is right now, not the future.
