Finished An Unlikely Place To Make A Friend

Mikey turned in his paper to professor Asmaralaya and listened to his words of wisdom about keeping a cool head. He turned to face Bree as the professor headed back to his office and smirked. Not a mischievous I'm going to cause trouble sort of smirk. More of a I'm glad that's over and it wasn't that bad sort of smirk. Bree smiled back at him and said "Well I guess were good to go. Maybe we could meet up later."

Mikey only nodded as they walked towards the door taken aback by Bree's words and that she wanted to meet up later. Its not that he was bad at making friends or anything he just thought they were stuck in detention together and that was that. The prospect excited him but he had a funny feeling in his gut like he wasn't cool enough to hang out with Bree outside of detention. Not that she had said or done anything to make him think that. Before they reached the door she turned back and said "You know what," and let a small laugh, "We should totally meet up tomorrow after dinner or before breakfast."


The feeling in Mikey gut seemed to increase tenfold as he opened and closed his mouth trying to say something. It must have looked very similar to the style popularized by goldfish and he was thankful her back was already turned and she didn't see him struggle to speak.

He caught up to her a little ways before the stairs to Gryffindor common room where she goodbye and gave him some sarcastic advice about not getting into fights with ghosts. as she turned around and headed up the stairs Mikey finally managed to say "See you later." It didn't feel like any sort of achievement but at least she wouldn't think he had become mute. He turned and made his way to the Ravenclaw commons excited about the prospect of a new friend and what the rest of the school year held.
