PV unnofficial duel Sparks of chaos closed

Axyen didn't know what to expect from this duel, but he wasn't ready to let his guard down. Axyen felt like he was now in a state of complete focus and he would do nothing but pay close attention to as many things as possible, from his experience as a duelist, he learned personally how much these spells hurt, but he also learned how to dodge quote a bit in his time. They were allowed to cast spells at each now and the first thing that came to mind was for Axyen to solve one problem for the time being, it was a bit... much to deal with and worry about three opponents at once, so why not freeze one of them up for a bit and just deal with the other two? 'I'll use the Full Body-Bind Curse to freeze up...' Axyen briefly scanned the dueling stage before his eyes landed on Atlas Anderson. 'Him!' Axyen thought to himself, as he aimed his wand at Atlas.

Axyen recalled back at the library when he first learned about this spell when he was excited, Axyen personally had practiced using this spell quite a bit in his duels, so he was quite comfortable with using it. Axyen moved his wand, making a movement that looked like a pit in the ground before moving the wand horizontally towards the right and swinging it vertically downwards before pushing it forward with its aim at Atlas, something about this particular movement felt better than usual, it felt almost natural. Even Axyen himself was surprised, was this the result of so much practice with the spell? Axyen does use the spell quite a decent bit, but this was not the time for such thoughts; the excellent wand movement would ultimately amount to nothing if Axyen failed to say the incantation properly. Axyen readied himself mentally in a brief moment, having no time to waste.

"Petrificus Totalus!" Axyen called out in a surprisingly clear voice, the spell shot out and it was just so satisfying to Axyen. A perfect cast, but hopefully his aim was on point otherwise that perfect cast would be for nothing. Axyen watched as the spell hit Atlas directly in his torso, his arms and legs snapped together to their sides and it wouldn't be long before he hit the ground. 'I did it! That got him!' Axyen thought to himself, pleased with his own perfect cast, it was the best cast he has ever made with this spell. Axyen resisted the urge to smile, he still needed to focus and that's when he noticed that the other team chose to target him only!

Unfortunately for Axyen, he would pay the price for his momentary loss of focus. He was capable of dodging two of the Flipendos sent at him, but the third Flipendo sent from Atlas, the very same person he petrified, was the one that hit Axyen. Axyen got sent flipping backwards into the air a few times before getting sent into the ground with the momentum of those flips working to deal quite a bit of damage to Axyen. "Oof!" Axyen cried out as his eyes momentarily widened, but this was not the time for laying on the ground, he shakily got up because he tried to get up as fast as possible. Axyen knew that there was no time to waste and he needed to think about what his next move would be as soon.

There was only one good thing from all of this, Atlas was down and Axyen noted that one of the Slytherins were stuck dancing, so he was probably hit with Tarantallegra. So Axyen's plan for this round ultimately worked, they would only need to worry about two of the Slytherins. However, Axyen knew better than to underestimate them despite them now being outnumbered. Axyen readied himself for whatever may come next.

Prodigal Defense Against the Dark Arts Learner - Able to learn Defense Against the Dark Arts 1 year ahead of their actual school year. You may only choose a spell taught in DADA classes. At end game they learn 1 restricted spell. This can also serve as an alternative means to learning spells besides earning them through DADA class.

• 10% chance that a random spell known by the caster will be cast in addition to the spell that they have already cast. The spell will target the same target the caster had attacked/aided with a spell that round. If the spell cast had no target, then a target is assigned randomly with no consideration of friend or foe. The second spell still has to go through the normal targeting mechanics, it would not be an automatic hit or anything.This effect will not take place if the wand is not drawn.
• In duels the wand only chooses from the list of official duelling spells.
• +2 accuracy to spells cast.

The moment the signal to begin echoed across the dueling piste, it was chaos—dazzling flashes of magic ripping through the air, sparks bursting like fireworks from the wands of eager duelists. Atlas sidestepped nimbly, his eyes scanning the battlefield with the practiced sharpness. Then he spotted it while a spell of his own did get to kiss his adversary—Axyen's wand was raised with the assurance of a person who knew his spell would connect.

The look he had on his face was very familiar,

"Petrificus Totalus!"

The incantation of the spell was very clean, it left the owner's wand like a silver bullet that was unserved in pathway and Atlas reflexively attempted to evade but the spell hit him dead center before he could finish reacting to it. He felt the spell connect to him—he felt as if a nerve exploded before dissipating entirely. His limbs twitched to his sides with a cold metal stiffness, his spine numbed as though steel rods were being driven into it and the world became softly blurred at the edges of his sight and his thoughts whirling inside a cell of immobility. He could not even blink and his body crashed backward as if he was a board and hit the ground with a dull thud that took his breath away—not that he was able to wheeze it out.

And though it seemed the spell hadn’t caused any real damage, its strategy was flawless as it did bind and paralyzed the Slytherin boy.
