Open Unexpected Encounter Closed

Rose looked at Louisa, seeing her in a somewhat dreamy state, before the girl came back to her senses. "So are we all first years? Has anyone been to Hogwarts before?" As if Rose read Louisa's thoughts in her quick moment of waiting, she responded, "I'm a first year! It would be amazing if we all have the same house. My momma thinks I'll be in Ravenclaw." Seeing how she has been studious all her life, most getting to know her would believe so as well. Of course, fate has other plans, as it usually does.

Rose turned to Denise and Neveah and continued the topic that Louisa had brought up. "What house do you think you guys will be in? If you're first years, that is." She didn't want to make any assumptions about their age, some people look very young indeed. A family friend of theirs for example looks like he's a teenager, but is in fact thirty-four. Funnily enough, the man in question is not a wizard.

Back to the present, Rose's mind continued to race about what this year will entail. She had known that throughout history, the school had gone through many trials and tribulations, and would wonder if some disaster would strike at her time there. Praying for the best that no such events would come to pass, she shifted her focus to the thoughts of friends and the numerous things she and many others will learn. These thoughts made her grin widen.

L ouisa McStately smiled at the seemingly lovely Rose, but when Rose mentioned houses and Ravenclaw her face turned down to her pale, soft hands covered by an embarrassed confusion. What’s Ravenclaw? Thought Louisa hoping she wasn’t the only one confused. Her hands fidgeting with her uniform and it took a great deal of effort she finally chose to speak to the others in the compartment in a soft, nervous voice, “Uh, what is, um, Ravenclaw?” Louisa spoke shyly.

For a horrible moment she thought that no one would answer her or perhaps think she was stupid and because of this she kept her face somewhat hidden behind a large piece of hair that had just fallen forward. Trying her best she attempted to remember what she knew about Hogwarts’s houses. She wasn’t quite sure where the information came from but she began to recall some basic facts. At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry there are four separate houses. Each house has its own values and… Louisa smiled a bit more, she would ask about the values and surely not everyone would know that! Carefully flicking her brown waves out of her face she asked in what was only a moment later, “I mean, what are the values of Ravenclaw?” Louisa felt a little silly but the need to know was greater and she quickly added, “And the other houses?”

Louisa McStately smiled hopefully for a response. The others in the compartment seemed nice and surely being muggle born wouldn’t change that. Although there was a great deal of prejudice in the past, Louisa thought thinking back to what she had previously read.
