Nope! It is actually a mentor's job to help you finish your Ency and get registered with the Index!

It can take a few days, but normally you will have a mentor in less than a week.

Logan is correct. Let me try to explain why.

There are.. I believe 12 mentors on the mentor team. Each of them can only claim three people at a time. 12 x 3 = 36. Sometimes they're busy and cannot claim everyone. Because mentors have three tasks to work on with you before they're achieved (4 rp posts from you, 1 completed and graded homework, 1 approved encylopedia + registered into official index), it takes a bit of time. We do our best to make each experience perfect for each mentee, and helpful as we didn't all have that experience to start off with. I didn't, the program wasn't around.

So, give them about a week to two at most. If its been longer, or you've been skipped (aka claimed the person in front of you and behind you but not you), or you're paired with a mentor who you do not want to be paired with, poke the Team Leads @Orion Lécuyer, @Jane Audley.
