The Sticky Accident
"Reid?" Serena asked, wondering why the Ravenclaw had suddenly burst out with his name, "Do you know him?" She asked - not actually answering the girl's questions. Her curiosity had suddenly gone from the room to the Ravenclaw. Turning on her heels, Serena observed the girl that was following close behind of her - instead of focusing on the secrets of the room. Her glance watched as the other girl seemed nervous. She was fidgeting - definitely more so than she had been earlier. The Ravenclaw was playing with her wrists.
Oh Serena was definitely a curious one. However, she also wasn't entirely mean. So she attempted to answer the question. The only problem was that she had met quite a few people in the past few days and she was terrible with names. She remembered faces better than names, usually. So if you put her in a room of twenty people, she'd be able to recognise most of them by their face afterwards - even if she hadn't spoken to them - but ask her to tell you their names? Hell no. She might remember the odd few that she spoke to.
The other problem was, Serena often spoke to people and forgot to ask them for their names. In fact, so many times she would talk to someone - perhaps even for hours - before suddenly realising she didn't know their name. At which point, it may be too awkward to suddenly ask them the name. Frowning as she thought about it, Reid... "Hmm... Possibly, what's his surname?" She asked, wondering if that might help jog her memory, "Describe him - that might help." She said before adding, "Sorry, I'm terrible with names sometimes but... Reid sounds like one I've heard. Can't quite place him though..." She admitted.

Bloom was confused. She was straight forward with Serena. How did it go from her asking the questions to all of a sudden her asking a question as a response? It was kind of annoying Bloom, but she knew this Hufflepuff was very kind and probably did not mean anything by her responses. In actuality, Bloom was not being very open about why she wanted to know if Serena knew Reid.
"His last name is Kovacs, I think," she said, hoping that would be enough for her to know who she meant.
"Describe him - that might help."
How many Hufflepuff's were there? Honestly, Bloom had only seen a couple roaming around the school. Hufflepuffs truly did seem like they were more in hiding than any of the other houses. Bloom began to think about how she would describe Reid. This should be fine...
"He's taller than me with brown hair and forest green eyes. He wears glasses that very well suits him and always smiles," she said in one breath. Oh dear..., Bloom thought. She just described him in one breath and was detailed. She wondered what in the world Serena would think about that. She tried to shrug it off as so far, the Hufflepuff hadn't been answering her questions off the bat and sort of seemed aloof.
"Um, does that help you?" she asked.

"Reid Kovacs..." Serena repeated. The name sounded somewhat familiar but she couldn't quite place him. Why did it seem like she knew it though? Frowning, the girl fell into thought as she tried to recall where she might have heard it. She couldn't picture the face of the guy but it certainly sounded like a name she recognised for some reason. As she thought about it, Bloom described the boy. She described in such a way that Serena was a little taken back. She hadn't expected the Ravenclaw to rattle off his description in such depth without even breathing. Smiling slightly, Serena couldn't help but wonder if describing Reid was more important to her than breathing. However, she shook the thought of her head as the other girl clearly had pinned some sort of hope onto this.
Thinking about her description, she thought over it carefully. A guy with brown hair, green eyes who wore glasses... Smiley... Well that last one doesn't help - most of the Hufflepuffs she met smiled a lot! "Ahh!" Serena snapped her fingers as she remembered why she recognised his name, "I saw his name on the list!" She told herself. She had met the first year list that she was given recently, after becoming a prefect. All of it only happened very recently so she hadn't had the chance to meet everyone but remembered seeing his name on the list as she wondered where his surname originated from. Well... that's not helpful to Bloom... Whoops!
"I think I've seen him around-" She started, picturing a guy with brown hair that she remembered seeing on occasion. You would think that description wasn't very helpful but actually, most of the Hufflepuffs she had met so far seemed to have very light hair colours. She had no idea why but it seemed to be that way - or at least, the ones she had actually seen. Though in fairness, the guy she was thinking of could actually be a totally different guy. She had no evidence either way... "But I haven't spoken to him yet." Serena replied honestly, even though it wasn't very helpful and perhaps not the response Bloom wanted.
"How comes?" The young Hufflepuff asked after a few seconds pause, wondering if there was a reason she had suddenly brought the boy up. With a bit of a cheeky smile on her face, Serena realised that she had been quite... well persistent with the matter and seemed to really want to know. She added, "I imagine I'll speak to him properly soon."

The Sticky Accident
Slowly, but surely, as Serena was talking about whether or not she knew of Reid, Bloom was beginning to become impatient. She was forming an ideal crush that most girls her age comes up with, even if she had just met him yesterday. At this age, girls want to know anything and everything about their crush. Bloom was not getting a lot out of Serena. I guess that's fine..., she thought.
It was then that she mentioned a list of some kind. Bloom took a look at the Hufflepuff's robes and saw that she was a Prefect for her house. She had to have known everyone, or meet them once. But it seems that she did not remember exactly who he was. Bloom sighed to herself, but still put on a small smile as a way of thanking Serena for trying to remember this boy.
Bloom was about to change the subject when Serena had asked her the dreaded question...
"How comes?"
The smile on Serena's face made Bloom blush. What do I say? Bloom wasn't a talented liar and she was unable to think of anything else to say. If anything, she was saying this to a Prefect. Would she shoot down her feelings for having a crush? Was it even allowed in Hogwarts to have a crush? Bloom felt her face heating up from blushing. She couldn't resist, she had to tell her.
"I think... I Like... Reid," she said, forming the sentence slowly. She realized this was the first time she had said it out loud. Perhaps the first time that she confirmed with herself that she liked him. Instead of being nervous, she was actually a bit excited. She looked at Serena and wondered what she would say about this.

"Like... you like like him?" Serena blinked. Did... she just said she liked him? As in, like liked him? Or like she liked him as a person and thought that he was friendly or- No, Serena, she fancies him! She told herself, knowing full well that no one would say it like that if it was just as friends. However, a confirmation always helps... It would be super awkward if she meant it in a different way but Serena was pretty sure Bloom meant it in this way. However, her mouth opened and the words had escaped her lips before she had a chance to actually think about it.
As it dawned on her, she started squealed from excitement. Her face had a massive grin on it and she quickly reached out to grab Bloom's hands instinctively. I have no idea why she grabbed her hands but I just picture Serena doing that from excitement, in an absentminded manner. However, she's very lucky - because Bloom's hands are no longer unwashed! "Awww! Does he like you?! Does he know you like him?! What's he like?! What happened? How do you know?" She practically squealed loudly, starting to get excited on the other girl's behalf. Within a single breathe, she started to rattle off some questions about the situation, trying to understand it better. She wanted to know more about the whole thing, mostly because it was new to her. Serena didn't like anyone - or at least, she didn't think she liked anyone. Not in that way. She kind of wish she knew Reid so she could understand it better.
She was definitely going to keep an eye out for him! She wanted to find out as much as she could about this whole matter. The young Hufflepuff had completely forgotten about their creepy surroundings now. Her entire attention was focused on Bloom as she pretty much just jumped up and down in front of her from excitement, squealing every so often!

The Sticky Accident
Seeing the excitement on the Hufflepuff's face only made Bloom want to mimic her. It was a very exciting moment in her life that she finally was able to express and perhaps understand this weird feeling inside of her. She could never make out what it was, but now, thanks to Serena, she knew what it was: she like-liked Reid Kovacs.
Bloom's head went spinning with all the questions that Serena was asking. Does he like you?! Does he know you like him?! What's he like?! What happened? How do you know? These were all very good questions that Bloom cannot necessarily answer. She had just met him yesterday and the questioning whether or not he liked her back was mysterious. The last question, however, was the hardest of them all. How does she know that she likes Reid? She then remembered about Marcus. She did like him, too, but with Reid, it was a completely different feeling. Maybe that was how she knew?
"So many questions!" she joked. Bloom tried to answer all that she could for the girl. She was just as excited to tell her as Serena was to ask.
"I don't know if he likes me but we planned to go to the lake tomorrow night... Just us!" she said with excitement. Bloom's eyes were squinting with joy as her cheek bones became more and more prominent from her smile. "He's... Caring, kind, a wonderful listener and adventurous," Bloom added, thinking of their conversation the day before. "I just do know, I don't know!" She then ended her final answer to Serena's question with a giddy laugh. She was so excited to let all of this information go. But was it safe to let Serena know of all this? As an eleven year old, perhaps not.
Bloom was just as interested to know about Serena's life as she was of hers. "Do you have a crush on someone?" she asked, her eyebrows perk up, wanting some information, too.

Serena was super excited for her new found friend. Yes, she had already decided that they were going to be friends - that wasn't up for debate or questions, unfortunately. The Hufflepuff thought of most random people as nice people that she could become friends with, in general. However, this was different. They had some sort of bonding moment. A bonding moment of this nature entails friendship for life, right?! In either case, she was very excited for Bloom and her declaration of like liking Reid.
Laughing softly, "Sorry!" She apologised quickly for all of the questions. Her voice was definitely hyper, showing her excitement. Serena might have gotten carried away with what she was asking but she had gotten swept up in the emotions and the moment. It was like she was interviewing Bloom for her life story now.
The Asian girl's smile grew and grew as she heard Bloom talk about Reid. They were going on a date together! Alone! "Aww! That's so great! Did he ask you? Did you ask him?" She asked, wondering who invited who out to the lake - alone! Her smile must have grown from ear to ear at this point and her oddly bright coloured eyes were gleaming in excitement.
In all honesty, Reid sounded like a great guy. Completely the sort of guy Serena would want for any of her friends - and a true Hufflepuff. Bloom's description of him gave a warm, loving feeling about him. He just sounded so nice! "He sounds so lovely! I'm happy for you!" Serena exclaimed, expressing her emotions to Bloom, "I really want to meet him now!" She continued, kind of annoyed at herself that she hadn't met him yet.
"Eh- me? Uh- well no. I don't think so?" Serena replied. She wasn't sure to be honest. How would someone know? She liked people and thought they were nice but... she thought everyone was nice. How was she supposed to know if she had a crush on someone? "I mean, I don't really know? I've never thought about it..." She answered honestly. In fact, she wasn't even sure if this was supposed to be something you think about or not.

Bloom did not know whether or not to feel excited or uncomfortable of how excited her new friend was at the fact that hse shared such secretive information. Bloom asbsolutely hoped that no information would be told to Reid. The last thing she needed was for him to stop being her friend because she had a crush on him.
"Well, I told him what I was doing and he wanted to tag along to keep me company!" she said, excitedly. What if he does like me? Bloom's heart began to thud faster at the thought that Reid may perhaps like her. What would they do at the lake? What if he told her at the lake when they go together? It would be so romantic! she smiled to herself.
"You should definitely meet him. He's so kind and worth getting to know," Bloom paused, realizing that she was opening the door for this Hufflepuff to go meet Reid knowing all of this information. "But anything we talk about here stays here, okay? The last thing I need is for him to know I like him... I'm not ready for him to know yet," she said with honesty, hoping Serena would keep all information spoken to herself.
Bloom smirked at the Hufflepuff. It seems as though she had never thought about the boys in her classes or anything. How can someone not notice someone? she thought. "There's got to be someone from class or just walking around that you find cute!" she pushed, giggling.

"Aww, that's really sweet. Surely a positive sign? That maybe he likes you back?" Serena replied with a grin on her face. She didn't really know much about the whole dating thing or liking people but... it sounded like it was a good first step towards that if he showed an interest in hanging out with her? Especially if they were alone, right? At least, that's how she viewed it. So she was happy for the Ravenclaw - and rather hopeful about their relationship together.
Serena's grin turned into a soft smile as she nodded. A genuine, heartfelt sort of smile, "Mhm don't worry, I won't say a thing to him." She promised her new friend. She had no intention of getting involved in their relationship or messing anything up for Bloom. Staying out of it seemed like the best idea. If Bloom hadn't told him, she definitely wouldn't. If nothing else, Serena certainly lived up to the stereotype of being the Loyal Hufflepuff. It literally ran in her veins - or at least, house traits. "He does sound like a lovely guy though, I'll have to keep an eye out for him," She continued as she wondered why she hadn't spoken to him already. If he was the one she had pictured, she had seen him around. The opportunity to meet and speak had just never occurred.
The Ravenclaw swiftly turned the whole conversation onto her. Blinking, Serena paused in thought. Did she even know any boys? Well yes. Obviously. But she never really... thought about that. How would she know? Would she know? "Uh well... I don't know... how would I know?" She replied, very innocently as she thought a little longer, "Someone from class...?" She repeated to herself as she thought about the boys she had met in class. A vision of almost getting punched in the face by one boy flashed in her mind. Shaking her head, she removed that thought quickly. That idiot almost smashed her face in, that's definitely not the sort of thing Bloom was after. The boys Serena had met were clearly trouble - whilst Bloom seemed to have found the one nice guy around! She really needed to go meet some nice people... who, you know, didn't try to hit her in the face.
"Ah!" Serena looked down and noticed that her clothes had sticky patches on it. The hot water that had splattered all over her arm and sleeves was full of lemon and honey. Both ingredients to make the whole outfit kind of sticky and well, simply put, a bit gross. She sighed softly to herself as she moved to the taps again, deciding to try and get it out. "How did you know you liked Reid?" She suddenly asked as she wondered if there was a certain way to just know.
No worries!! P.S. This was so hard to write. I fully support Bloom x Ben and it's SO hard to try and be excited about this when I knowwww LOL.

The Sticky Accident
Thinking about the moment that she met Reid, Bloom blushed. Maybe he did like her back. Granted, she was too young to know the signs, she just knew what to do to show that she liked someone. But perhaps for him to come to the lake with her was definitely a sign. Bloom was giddy just thinking about it. What if he does like me? Should I tell him that I like him? she thought, filling her head with thoughts.
Relieved that Serena mentioned she would not tell him, Bloom smiled. She was hoping that she could trust Serena and for some reason, she for sure did have that feeling she could.
Bloom smiled seeing Serena think about anyone she could like. She mentioned class, but it seemed that she twisted the thought around and instead, asked about how Bloom would know when she liked someone. It really made Bloom think.
She began to walk over to the sink and look into the mirror at herself. How did she know that she liked Reid? Bloom stared at her chocolate brown eyes, her button nose and her thin lips in the same of a smile. She looked back at the Hufflepuff, her smile big.
"You can just feel it. It's like butterflies in your stomach. Your heart pumps a little faster than usual. Your mind races...," she tried to think of everything that happened to her when she talked to Reid. She had never had this happen before with anyone. This had to mean she liked him, right? "Also, whenever you think of the person, you just can't stop smiling," she added.

LOL, I know the feeling. It's hard to write Bloom to like Reid when she is with Ben now. Haha!
