Avery smiled back. She was glad that she had finally found a friend that could help her if she ever needed help. She knew a lot of her other friends were always busy, and rarely had time to do their homework with her, Avery smiled again and said, "Thanks for the offer! So far this is pretty easy, and I don't think it's due for another few days, so I should be okay for now. I'll absolutely send you an owl if I need any help. Also, I can try. Transfiguration is probably one of my favorite subjects. Even though I'm not a second year, I could try. Which question do you need help with?" Avery hoped she would be able to help. When she used to go to school with her muggle friend, her favorite subject was science. She was good enough that the teachers allowed her into a more advanced class. She was sad that she had to quit when her friend was killed from her injuries caused by a car wreck. It meant Avery couldn't spend more time learning about science. Avery wondered if a first year was even allowed to help older students. Even if it meant Avery got in trouble, it would be worth it if she was able to help a friend. She would rather help a friend than let her fail. Even if it meant consequences.

Avery put away her Potions homework when Tracey pushed her Transfiguration assignment to her. She took a look and the first question and began to think. She wracked her brain for what they had learned so far. She remembered learning something about Transformation, and hoped that Transformation was what answer was looking for. She also remembered learning that all the spells changed one thing to another. The only thing she didn't remember learning was how many spells used it. She hoped that her ideas would be useful to Tracey because she was a first year that wasn't as advanced at Transfiguration. "I remember talking about Transformation having the suffix shown." Avery pointed to the last part of the question and continued, "I also know that they all change one thing into another.But unfortunately I'm not sure what the first part of the question is." Avery hoped again that these answers were correct since she was basing them off a lesson she remembered learning. She also hoped her science skills would be able to help Tracey get through the assignment. Avery looked through the rest of the assignment. Hoping that she would be able to help. She also knew that this would help her know what would be coming in her second year, so that made her even more excited and eager to help. She just really hoped that she would be useful and not a total flop of a helper.

Avery watched as Tracey wrote down the information about Transformation. Avery was glad that she was able to help on part of the assignment. Especially since she was a first year. She also hoped that her knowledge of science would also be able to help Tracey through the rest of the assignment. "That might be a good idea. Maybe having an example would help." Avery responded to Tracey's question about adding the spell she learned in class. Avery thought it would be good because maybe it could help them solve the mystery to the first and last part of the question. Avery thought back to her lessons. She knew that there was a poster on the wall that explained the idea of Transformation, but she couldn't remember if it said anything useful on it. She knew there was useful stuff on it, but would it be useful enough for Tracey's homework? Avery didn't;t know the answer to that question. Avery continued to think hard. What had she learned about Transformation? She knew that there were spells that used the suffix, but she couldn't quite remember what they were, or what they did. She wished she could remember at least one thing. Then maybe she could actually be a better help.

"That's a great idea! I can't believe I didn't think about that in the first place!" Avery said as Tracey pulled a spell book out of her bag. She was beginning to get excited about this. Usually she didn't like doing homework, but this was different. This was fun! It almost felt like they were on a treasure hunt and trying to find the treasure. Which was the answer to the question. Avery read the book with Tracey. She read through so many spells. Many of which she had never heard of before. Hoping that she would be able to find a clue about what spells were used in Transformation. "Maybe there is a certain section on the spells of Transformation. Or maybe there is a section on Transfiguration?" Avery questioned. "It's fine. I'm actually enjoying doing this with you. It kinda reminds me of a treasure hunt." Avery gave a small laugh at her analogy. She didn't even know if it even made sense. Avery continued to search hard through the book. She wasn't willing to give up easily. And practice could wait. This was a lot more interesting than going out in the cold. She couldn't wait to see what they would find next!

Avery smiled to herself. She was happy that she was actually useful. She was also glad that her idea had worked. That gave her hope. Maybe she could do this after all! Avery glanced over at Tracey's paper as she wrote down the answer. She saw that the next two questions were similar, so she thought about what spells she knew. She remembered two different spells she had heard her parents talking about in one of their secret talks. Avery scoured her brain for the names of the two spells as Tracey finished the first question. When Tracey asked her if it was a fun treasure hunt Avery said, "Absolutely! This is way more fun than what I was going to do. I was going to go outside and work on my Quidditch training, so I can join the team, but this is fun for me! I really enjoy Transfiguration because science is super interesting to me! "I actually have an idea for these two questions. I remember two spells that my parents were talking about once. I haven't had a chance to research them yet, so I'm not fully sure what they do." Avery pointed at the second question and said, "I remember my parents talking about the spells reparifors and Lapifors. We're probably going to have to look these up since, I have no idea what they are of what they do."
