ooc notes-Sage found herself nodding along enthusiastically with what Maisie was saying. She seemed to be living a dream, a parent who could write for papers and answer world related questions. Amazing. Although the political part could be controversial, it didn't make her father's role any less interesting.
"Incredible. Do you think you'd ever try to go into a position like his?" The idea of being some sort of journalist was one Sage hadn't discouraged from her potential professions, but she was still set on being a healer.
Sage's already wide smile seemed to double in size as Maisie agreed with her. This girl was gonna go far. "Right?!" She shook her head angrily before pointing to herself to offer a personal anecdote. "I'm a half-blood, personally, so it's not even that I don't have a parent who's a witch, it's just... They really need to grow up."
Part of Sage calmed to know that younger years were interested in similar values, equality. Maybe Hogwarts would only get better, especially if people like Maisie were able to make their voices heard. The idea soothed her tousled nerves.
"Not to get political, but I've rarely ever seen someone like me in a position of power. It's all the same... It's just about getting what one group wants, not people who need a little extra help or anything. It's selfish, is what it is." She stopped herself short before she managed to get even more upset about the whole thing.
"Yeah, Headliner's got sports stuff! Usually covers the matches of all the sports, have you read any?"
Sage listened thoughtfully as Maisie recounted her dueling adventure. Even with a year's difference, beating a second year was something you'd shout to the highest mountains and cheer for years about. Sure, it wasn't for some big international dueling event, but everyone had to start somewhere.
"That's so cool! With a dueling ability like yours I'm sure the future will hold articles about your wins for Ravenclaw."
Aware it was getting later in the day, Sage knew it was getting around the time she should probably finish up any homework left over. "Hey, sorry, I know it hasn't been that long, but I've got some homework and such left around. Do you have any more questions? I'd be happy to answer them!"
