"Whoa, so cool! I come from a whole wizarding background. Don't worry, I'll ask you if I have any questions," Mateo says.

Being born and raised in the wizarding world of Japan, Mateo didn't have much knowledge of muggle activities. Most of his childhood friends are pureblood's like he is.

Mateo only had one childhood friend who's a half-blood, and he learned a bit about muggles from her, and he found himself fascinated with anything to do with muggles.

Hearing Sabrina speak, Mateo was brought back to reality. He listened to what she said, and realized that she was trying to make Mateo see how fun the actual game was. After she finished speaking, he said,
"Hmmmmmmmm, I guess, but in the wizarding world, I probably won't be playing that game. No offense though,"

It was pretty hard to convince Mateo once he had his mind set on something. But maybe he would realize how fun the actual version of the game is.

When he heard Sabrina speak again, he began thinking about the first question to ask her. Nothing came to mind, until a question did. A sports question to be exact, so he asked,
"What's your favorite sport? It can be either muggle or wizarding, and you don't have to be good at playing it,"

It was really nice to meet someone with such interest in the muggle world. Sabrina was, of course, also curious about Mateo's own background. Not only regarding his purely wizarding heritage, but also the place he was from. For how emberassing it might be, she never really considered the existance of other wizarding schools and their students, or at least before finding out about the Campgrounds she now found herself exploring.

She *had* heared of them, but it always seemed somewhat.. fictional. Too foreight and far away for her to fully grasp the reality of. But standing next to a student from one of the other schools, definitely peaked her interest. She would definitely take adventage of the game they had started and would ask about it.

"Well," she started, tapping her index finger against her bottom lip, " I suppose my favorite sport would be swimming. I used to swim everyday at home, but there's not really a place to swim here so.." she smiled up at him, shrugging. She didn't mention the fact that she sometimes sneaked off to swim in the Great Lake as it was very much against the school rules.

"But other than that.. I actually really enjoy flying. Especially when it's fast, the wind whooshing around my ears, battering my cheeks.." she gestured around her head, smile widening.

"Anyways, my turn! Where are you from?" She asked, sliding the pebble in her hand into her pocket.

As Mateo waited for Sabrina's answer to his first question, Mateo began to think about new questions to ask, since he had to ask 19 more questions. Once he had an idea for his second question, he continued to wait for Sabrina's reply.

Her reply didn't arrive yet, so, as they walked, Mateo looked around. The campgrounds were pretty simple, and probably lead into the forest, which Mateo was saving to visit when he came back to Hogwarts.

After finally hearing her reply, he listened to her. He had swam before, but he wasn't sure if he was good at it. Mahoutokoro had water sports, but he had yet to see them.

Hearing that she also liked flying brought a smile to his face. He enjoyed flying. It was his favorite hobby. The joy of zooming around the sky, going higher and higher as you go. Or even playing with friends and having a mini quidditch match or even try out broom racing.

Hearing the question Sabrina asked, Mateo realized he hadn't replied yet so he said,
"I'm from Yokohama, Japan. So therefore I'm Japanese. Flying is honestly my favorite too. I get what you mean. It's honestly the best. I've swam once I guess. Oh, d'you have any siblings?"

Sabrina was now looking up at the gray sky, practically walking without looking up ahead. That might have been the reason for her stumble and quick halt - or maybe it was just the answer Mateo just gave.

"Once?!" she echoed, snaping her head to a side - scarf flipping over her shoulder from the sheer spped - looking up at the older boy. Despite being said in a questioning way, it wasn't really a question. More of an exclamation of surprise.. or shock.

"Merlin, that's.." she straightened, regaining her balence, hands settling at her hips as she shook her head, rendered speechless. She remained like that for a moment before cracking a smile, going back to walking with another shake of her head. Only once, she thought, he thinks - THINKS - that he swam only once. Catching up with the boy again, she continued in the tempo they had set before her stumble.

"That definitely is something," she finished after a moment, appearently unable to find the right word for what she thought of his.. confession, per say. "I am glad we agree on the flying tho. Maybe we could race sometime," she added, failing to mention the fact that flying outside of classes was technically forbitten but.. eh, unimportnat detail.

"Yokohoma, hmm.. never heared of that place" she nodded to herself, as if confirming that yes, she had no idea what the place was and where exactly it was meant to be - to be completaly honest with herself, she wasn't even sure where Japan was. She would've probably mentioned, but then the boy could've tried to explain it to her, which wouldn't really help because her and geography were not friends. So she decided to not comment on that.

"Nope, I am an only child," she answered with a sigh, "wish I wasn't tho," she added, eyes landing on a nearby tree. It was big, definitely very old, maybe as old as the castle itself, and the first branches weren't even that high up. Slowly coming to a stop again, Sabrina looked back at the boy, a smik playing over her lips.

"So here's my question: wanna climb it?" she asked, already taking a few steps backwards towards the tree she was now pointing at, not breaking the eye contact with Mateo.

Mateo wasn't expecting his answer about how he might've only swam once to come as a big shock to Sabrina, and he honestly thought she was overreacting. Mateo decided to rack his brain to see exactly how many times he's swam before and realized he'd swam a lot actually.

"Don't worry Sabrina, I've actually swam half as many times as I'd flown. But I haven't swam in two years," Mateo says after he was sure the younger girl was done overreacting.

"Racing? I'm a quidditch player, not a broom racer. But we could race around the Quidditch Pitch sometime," Mateo says after he heard her reply to the part where they both agree on flying.

Mateo knows about broom racing, but hasn't actually played the actual game before. He preferred to play Quidditch, but wouldn't mind watching a broom race.

Hearing Sabrina reply to his mentioning of where he's from. It didn't hurt when she said that she didn't know where he was from. Not a lot of people would know about countries on the other side of the sea, so he didn't blame her, but he said,
"It's ok. Japan is simply on the other side of the sea. So I'm pretty far away from home. Japan's capital city is Tokyo, a lot of tourists visit there, Osaka too. But Yokohama is nice. You should visit sometime, if you want that is,"

Hearing Sabrina say that she's an only child and wishes that she wasn't made Mateo smile. He then said,
"Honestly, same. My childhood friend, Tracey, she attends this school, and she's like my younger sister, and she's the same year as me,"

Noticing that Sabrina had stopped, Mateo also stopped and noticed that they were standing in front of a tree. Mateo had climbed trees a few times so when Sabrina asked if he wanted to, he said,
"Sure. Here's my question, would you like to join me?"

Instead of waiting for an answer, Mateo began to climb up the tree. After finding a good branch to sit on, he looked down at Sabrina and wondered if she'd join him.

Grinning from ear to ear, Sabrina swiveled on her heel to follow the older boy.
"You betcha!" she called after him, coming at a stop, looking up as Mateo climbed. Climbing wasn't a particular hobby of hers, but she did have some experience with it, especially when it came to tree climbing. She stayed on the ground a beat longer, appriciating the view from there. The dark branches spread and bend like cracks in the gray sky, swaying lightly in the wind, leafs colorful and far between, fragile and delicate, one touch away from falling.

She always loved this view, one that not many truly paid attention to. Sure, the scenary from high above was breathtaking, but the journey up itself was beautiful in it's own way. Running her fingers over the harsh bark, she reached for the lowest branch with both pf her hand, having to stand on her toes to do so. She swung herself up, bracing her foot against the tree to give herself a boost. She climbed on, with a bit less ease than Mateo, as she was a bit shorter, but still with no significant difficulty.

Hoisting herself up on the tree he was sitting on, dropping down next to him, sittin closer to the trunk. Absentmindedly, she twirled a twig around her finger, looking down. They were at the lower side of the huge canopy, able to climb even higher, if they so pleased. Sabrina wasn't afraid of heights - or dephts, for the matter - so she felt no unease at all as she turned to face Mateo, swinging her leg over the branch, straddling it.

"So Mateo," she started again, grin not faltering, "what is something you wouldn't want me to ask you?" she voiced the question she's been preparing on her way up.

Hearing Sabrina's answer to his question, he smiled. As she was climbing up the tree, or getting ready to do so, since he wasn't sitting too high up in the tree, he began thinking about the next question he should ask. So far he only asked three questions. He still had to ask 17 more questions. Somehow, he would be able to ask these questions, he already had one question in mind and he just needed to answer Sabrina's question so then he could tell her his own question.

Mateo looked down and noticed that Sabrina had already climbed the tree and was sitting near him. Hearing her question, Mateo had to think about how he'll answer this question. After thinking of the answer he said,
"Well, I'm fine with you asking me anything. Anything that comes to mind, feel free to ask me. To be honest, I'm not sure what I don't want you to ask me, but if you ask me something I don't feel comfortable answering, i'll tell you, but I'm sure i'll be able to answer every question. Anyways, my question is, if you were able to learn any language what would it be and why? Obviously you can't already speak this language,"

Mateo enjoyed this question a lot. And if Sabrina had asked him this exact question, he'd be ready to answer, since he already has his own answer. But he was curious to what what Sabrina will say.

Swinging her legs, Sabrina leaned back against the trunk humming, her lips pursing slightly, as the boy answered to her question. A bit unspecific, but fair enough. It wasn't that she planned on asking the question he wouldn't want her to ask, the opposite, really, but still. She didn't dwell on that much longer, her mind occuied by Mateo's next question.

She wasn't the kind of person to think more than talk, or keep the contents sof her mind to herself, so she let the stream of whirlling thoughts pour out of her mouth, looking up at the branches above and down at her swinging legs and swaying grass below, appriciating the view from where they sat. Maybe we could climb even higher?

"Oh I never thought of that," she mused. As silly as it sounded, she never had the reason to concern herself with it. All of the media she consumed and cared about was in english, so she felt no real need or desire to learn another language, "If I had to choose then..hmm.. this is a much harder question than it might seem," she chuckled, shaking her head at her own unability to answer such a simple question. But hey, the goal of their game was to get to know one another. At least now he knew she had no real desire to learn a new language.

"If anything," she tried again," I suppose I'd like to understand Gobbledegook or Mermish." She came acrooss these languages in her readings. It were the only two languages she rememebered ever having at least a the slighest desire to learn. "And I don't know if it counts as a language - but I hope to learn to read ancient runes one day." she added.

"What about you?" she asked on reflex, her eyes widening slightly upon realising what she had done. She groaned through biting into her bottom lip, banging her head lightly against the trunk behind her. "Spilled ink, stained quill" she mumbled, the quiet words sounding a bit like a swear word, despite their innocent meaning. Cracking a smile, she looked back up at the boy, shrugging.

"Well, that slipped. But hey, we didn't say that one can't ask two questions in one turn. So, here's another one. What do you usually eat for breakfast?"

Mateo noticed that Sabrina was swinging her legs and caught her looking up. Which made him wonder if she wanted to go higher. As he was about to ask, he heard Sabrina answer. Sabrina's answer made him nod his head and when she asked what his would be, he realized she let it slip. He didn't exactly hear what she had mumbled, but he had a feeling it had something to do to the fact that she had accidentally let a question slip.

Hearing her ask her actual question, Mateo decided to answer it first, but he then had to think about it before he said,
"It's all good. I had a feeling you didn't actually mean to ask that question. Well, back home in Japan, I usually have rice, miso soup, and Tamagoyaki, a Japanese omelette. Here, I just have anything I think is good,"

After answering the actual question, it was time to answer his own question, so he said,
"Well, you can take Ancient Runes in your third year. For me, Parseltongue for sure. I find it cool being able to speak to snakes. I also want a pet snake. But I don't have that ability, so I can't get a pet snake,"

Mateo hadn't actually asked his question yet. And he just realized this. Mateo thought about his next question and then he said,
"What's your favorite food?"

This was a pretty basic question and probably a good way to get to know someone. Cause if someone wants to give their new friend food, they'll be able to have an idea of what they like.

"You eat soup for breakfast?!" she exclaimed, eyes widening "I've never heared of someone who does that - well okay, maybe the except for poeple who believe that cereals are soup but still.." looking to a side, she mulled over the though before coming to a conclusion "It's so awesome - why have I never thought of that? I should try it later - although, now that I think about it, do they serve soup for breakfast in Hogwarts?" squinting, she tried to recall all of the breakfast options before promptly giving up "Eh, I'll try it at home. I'd also like to try the Tanagogaki thing" she said, getting the name horendously wrong, which didn't prevent her from looking completaly thrilled to try it one day.

She knew she could take Ancient runes starting her third year, and was very much excited for it, nodding eagerly as the boy mentioned it. "Yeah, I plan on taking it!"
Her excitement wavered a bit as he mentioned wanting to learn parseltongue, bowing her head.

"I don't think you can learn that" she mumbled, almost apologeticly so, "I think it's something you have to be born with," she continued in the same fashion, looking up at the boy through her bangs. After a moment, a smile found it's way back onto her face as she held her head up again, facing Mateo fully " but I suppose you could always be the first person to learn it without heriatage" she added, seeming completaly honest and confident in her answer.

"Well," her mood improved again, she began to answer his question, looking up at the sky again, "There's so many, I don't think I can pick one.." she proceeded to go on for about 5 minutes, index finger pressed against her bottom lip as she nodded to herself, listing various food choices she liked. The ones she talked about the most were chocolate, carrots and soups. Not in combination together, of course.

"That should be about it!" she finished, hand falling back to her side again. Pushing herself up, she balanced on the branch she had been previously sitting on, arms spread as to make it easier for herself, not looking a tad bit scared at the prospect of falling down.

"Let's climb higher! I want to see what the view looks like from the top branch!" she declared, holding onto the branch above her for stability before swinging her leg up on it, climbing higher. "Mmm.. What is something you've never told anyone before?" she called over her shoulder as she plopped down on one of the branches, setting her elbows down against her knees to look down on Mateo. She wasn't done climbing, just giving him time to catch up.

"Doesn't have to be a secret or anything. Just something you haven't had the chance to tell anyone yet, or think is too mundane or unimportant to share"
