Amanda nodded in agreement. “Personally, I really like Quidditch. I’l love to be on the Ravenclaw team. But dragons are also pretty awesome. I’d like to see a real one someday.” Amanda blushed slightly when Xander complemented her on her spells. “Oh, it’s not that hard, really. You’ve just got to pay attention and do your homework and you should be find. I’ve never actually tried the fire spell outside of class. I’d probably get in trouble.”

Amanda laughed at Xander’s comment. “Sparrow. My last name is Sparrow. Like you know, the plain little bird. Or I guess the pirate, Jack Sparrow. That is, if you’ve lived in the Muggle world.” She shrugged and grinned. She liked to have someone to talk to, someone that wanted to talk to her also.

Amanda watched as Xander’s face fell, his smile fading. Then he asked if she missed home. A pained expression made its way onto Amanda’s face. She tried to think of something witty or nonchalant to say, but gave up. “Yeah. I miss home. Sometimes I miss it a lot, other times I don’t really think about home. Being home is better because you don’t have to worry about others think. You can just relax and be yourself, you know?”
