The curt nature of the younger boy's words didn't really phase Aaron because he was immediately distracted by the accent. He could probably count on one hand the number of Welsh students he'd met in his six years at Hogwarts. So not only did the other boy likely have muggle heritage given his football gear, but he might even be from a nearby town. Cool.

When the boy gestured that he wanted his football back, Aaron immediately tossed it over. He wanted to ask about the treasure hunt, but his attention was pulled to the girl as she spoke.

"That's Chae-rin. We were coming here to practice, and she hasn't seen anyone else bring a football before, so she must've thought it was mine," he guessed, offering the girl a sheepish grin. "I'm Aaron, by the way. Hufflepuff," he introduced, tacking on his house as it had become second nature when meeting students outside of uniform. If they introduced themselves as well, he would tack on a, "Nice to meet you both." When Iris offered him a spot on the treasure hunt, the upperclassman hesitated.

"I'd accept if I hadn't already promised Chae a training session," he told them, glancing over his shoulder at the snowy owl still soaring in the air. "Appreciate the invite, though," Aaron said, turning back to them with a grin on his face. "Maybe we'll run into each other another time. I'm here pretty often, and if you ever want a football partner, or a flying partner, just let me know." With that said, the Hufflepuff turned away and jogged back towards the middle of the pitch. He mounted his broom and kicked off into the air, starting on a well-rehearsed training routine with his owl.
