To Meet Again PV Makena Degray Closed

"I'm glad everything is good with your family and with you, and yeah true its not easy being an aura but I'm sure your dad is great at it." "Yeah." Asteria said fondly. "I just wish it didn't make me worry about him so much." Being around Makena made Asteria feel happy, a familiar face in a sea of strangers was always something that was nice to have. If only she had more familiar faces to talk with as well, then maybe being at Hogwarts wouldn't feel so bad."Yeah same I'm happy we got to meet again." Makena said to Asteria as they continued to sit and chat with each other, it almost felt as though they had always sat together.

"Oh um my family well ....." Makena began. Asteria waited for Makena to continue, a look of concern swept over Asteria's face as she waited. Makena looked down at the ground briefly before looking back up and saying, "I don't think I told you when we first met but my father had past a few years before I met you and well saying I'm not close with my mother would be an understatement so I was glad when I got my Hogwarts letter." Asteria continued to listen to what Makena had to say.  Before she could respond however, Makena went on. "Don't worry it isn't all that bad," she said "I have a friend at home he's is a muggle but he is so kind and accepting o me being a witch so it was sad leaving him ... but enough about that. If you want to run for the hills now I'll understand."

Asteria waited a second before responded. "Oh," She said. "I-I'm sorry...I didn't know. The man that was with you at the Quidditch Match, I thought that he was your father." Asteria couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose one of her parents. She loved them both too much to even think of such a thing, her parents were one of the few people in her family she actually got along well with. "But..why would I run?" Asteria's eyebrows raised at the though. "Why would I run? What kind of person...what kind of friend would that make me?A pretty terrible one I'd say." Asteria said, a determined tone in her voice. A true friend wouldn't run from hearing their friends problems, they'd stay. They'd listen and, if possible they'd help their friend through whatever was bothering them.

"I don't know what it's like to lose a parent but....since we're being honest. I do know what it's like to not be on....good terms with family." She explained. "While I adore my parents and love certain other members of my family. Most of them...they're NOT good people." Asteria continued. Her green eyes narrowed and her eyebrows furrowed. She did not like talking about them at all, it wasn't an easy thing to talk about. "That being said, I do understand that "understatement" of yours." Asteria's face returned to its warm, gentle smile. "Even if I didn't understand that, I wouldn't run, because that's not what a friend does." Asteria opened her bag and looked around for something. It was the small pack Chocolate Frogs, she had gotten earlier in the owl she had received  from her grandfather. Taking two out, she gave one to Makena "Do you want one?" She asked.

"Yeah.  I just wish it didn't make me worry about him so much."
"It's okay to worry about him but your dad knows what he's doing." Makena said with a smile...

As Makena talked about her family Asteria listened she actually cared and wanted to know
"Oh, I-I'm sorry...I didn't know. The man that was with you at the Quidditch Match, I thought that he was your father."
"No that man at the quidditch match was my friend Kaleb's dad he had took us... It's okay how could you have known"
"But..why would I run?"  "Why would I run? What kind of person...what kind of friend would that make me?A pretty terrible one I'd say."
Asteria said, a determined tone in her voice and her eyebrows raised at the though, "It's just most people don't care and they have their own problems and they don't want to listen to other peoples and there is a lot more to the story about my mother but you don't need to worry about that, I'm at Hogwarts now and I'm happy" Makena said with a small smile.
"I don't know what it's like to lose a parent but....since we're being honest. I do know what it's like to not be on....good terms with family."

"While I adore my parents and love certain other members of my family. Most of them...they're NOT good people."
Asteria continued. Her green eyes narrowed and her eyebrows furrowed it was clear she didn't like taking about them.
"That being said, I do understand that "understatement" of yours. Even if I didn't understand that, I wouldn't run, because that's not what a friend does.
As Asteria said this her face returned to its warm, gentle smile. "I guess I have just got used to not trusting people and it's weird I don't usually open up like" Makena smiled as Asteria opened her bag and looked around for something. It was the small pack Chocolate Frogs, she got two out and held one out to Makena
"Do you want one?"
She asked "Yeah thanks" Makena said happily taking the chocolate frog.
