SPEECH [#f00000] |⋗
INTERACTIONS @Dealla Prince | MENTIONING @Tristan Theramin
───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───
It seemed the advanced stuff was truly coming out now. As an unfriendly volley of Conjunctivitis Curse came hurtling towards him. He knew instantaneously that he didn't have time to dodge out of the way. So he steeled himself, stood his ground and...

"Protego!" With an almost slashing motion of his wand he conjured the magical barrier that ricocheted Dealla's spell right back at her with frightening speed. As expected of Miss Prince however, she deftly dodged out of the way of her own rebounded spell, and away from the dire consequences of the powerful curse.

"Ah 'spose ah prolee dusuved tha'." "I suppose I probably deserved that." He laughs as the two return to their sizing up and measuring of each other. Normally a duel would be going much faster than this, but there was no crowd to appease aside from Tristan, and it was a good opportunity for the pair to catch up with one another. "Ye've go' a rully greecefull whee af casten', duxturutteh an' ull." "You've got a really graceful way of casting, dexterity and all." He compliments. That was Dee's strong suit as a duellist. Her spells were cast to perfection and with precision, sniper like accuracy. Not only that, but she was downright impossible to hit square on.

AJ had one advantage though, when his spells did hit. They hit with a decent amount of force.

The Conjunctivitis Curse was a fun new toy Dee had never gotten to actually play with in any of her official duels, but there was no time like the present, was there? It came out beautifully - near perfectly cast, and right on target - but then it came beautifully flying right back at her, because AJ had thrown up a shield just in time.

Only a quick spin to the side saved her from giving herself a nasty conjunctivitis, which would certainly not have improved her aim, nor helped her ability to dodge AJ's attacks from hell. "You're making me sweat over here," she called over to him as she watched the remnants of his shield shimmer and disappear. "If I can't hit you, how am I supposed to win?" Really, not very considerate of him, was it?

She went right back to sizing him up, assessing weaknesses, trying to gauge his focus and precision to guess his next move. Casting Protego twice in a row was risky business, Dee knew first-hand the amount of focus it took, and it could go wrong very easily. She didn't think AJ was the type to play it safe, however. Regardless - before she'd come to a conclusion, the unexpected compliment about her spellwork gave her pause. Not about her casting itself, but about... her aim? Her movements? It was hard to tell. Instead of taking it in stride as she usually would, a slight flush crept over her face, like the memory of a crush that could have been but never quite was.

"Why, thank you," she replied, trying for nonchalance, and adding a little twirl in an attempt to shake it off - then paused again. "I'm honestly more used to teasing and insulting my opponents. All this... civility is throwing me off my game." She squinted at the young man across from her, suspicion flaring in her blue eyes. "That wouldn't happen to be your plan, would it?"

"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar."
