Elisa's nervous smile was hanging on her lips - she really didn't want to have scared the little first year girl before they even reached Hogwarts. Elisa wasn't the talkative type, quite the opposite, actually. When asked about her sorting experience, however, she just couldn't hold back the words - they just slipped out of her mouth like a stream of water.
Aria didn't seem very convinced by her final sentence.
"I-I do! I really do!" Elisa said earnestly. "I mean- being in which house doesn't seem that important anymore for me..." she added, "It's just a group of people you'll be sharing classes and common rooms with, after all... You aren't pressured to make friends with them or anything."
Aria continued with questions about classes and professors at Hogwarts.
Elisa shrugged. "I wouldn't say they're actually hard. It's just... a bit overwhelming at first. All of a sudden, you get surrounded by so much magic and you are given a lot of information at once. Once you get used to it, though, all'll be easier."
"The teachers are alright. Some are stricter than others, and some give you a lot of homework, but there are the kind and friendly ones too. I'd say, as long as you are within the rules, you're fine." Elisa continued on.
"As for my favourite class... I like Charms... Potions can sometimes be - to be honest, pretty gross - that is, the ingredients, of course. And... Flying is just not my thing..."
Elisa glanced at the window. The familiar Scottish landscape was already zooming past them.

Elisa explained to Aria that the classes can be overwhelming at first, but once you get used to it, it's alright. Aria wasn't too worried though. She has always been a star student. Her own father was Head Boy in his year at Hogwarts, and Aria strived to do the same thing to make him proud.
The teachers are alright. Some are stricter than others, and some give you a lot of homework, but there are the kind and friendly ones too. I'd say, as long as you are within the rules, you're fine.
The teachers were the main thing that Aria was worried about. It's true that a teacher makes the class. If the class is led by a good teacher, Aria is more likely to be motivated to get all the work done. But if the class is led by a teacher that clearly doesn't want to be there, it's less likely that Aria herself will get a good grade.
As for my favourite class... I like Charms... Potions can sometimes be - to be honest, pretty gross - that is, the ingredients, of course. And... Flying is just not my thing..
Aria felt a warm strike of excitement in her stomach. These classes seem amazing! Charms, potions, Transfiguration, Herbology, even History of Magic sounds interesting! There was one class that Aria was not particularly interested in, and that class was flying. Aria's brother Keith always zipped around on his cheap little comet 11 broomstick that he got for his 8th birthday, but Aria was never into flying. She was more of a indoors-artsy person.
I've actually never been on a broomstick before... it looks a little scary actually... But I guess the class is to teach us. I'll learn! Charms seems amazing. I think it'll be my favorite class too!
Aria looked out the window of the Hogwarts Express and took a deep breath. The sky was getting darker as the sun was setting. Then suddenly, the train jolted to a sudden stop. Aria stood up and peaked her head out of the compartment. She could see through a window on the other side of the train that they were at the platform. They were here. Aria Wright is finally at Hogwarts. She took a moment and looked back at her new friend Elisa.
Elisa, we're here!
Aria shot Elisa a thankful smile.
Thanks for all the advice. I hope to see you around Hogwarts!
And with that, Aria grabbed her satchel and made her way to the platform.

I am a hard worker. I am a good friend. I do my best. I am enough.
