Ethan looked at James. "Yeah I knew about the dance, but the camp out that just sounds scary for a first year."  Ethan said to James. 

Eri closed the door and picked up the cot and turned away from the door to see Jackson standing in front of her. 

"You do know that you are not supposed to get something out of that room without help? Remember the last time you went in there you about broke your leg and everything in that room." Jackson shook his head and looked at Eri. "It's fine just be careful when you go in that room. Also Evelyn told me about James." Jackson grabbed the cot from Eri and started walking towards Ethan's room. 

"Yeah I know. Hey I can carry it." Eri hurried after Jackson as they went back to Ethan's room.

Jackson opened the door and put the cot inside, waved at Ethan and James and left. Eri hurried inside as Jackson left. "He has some stuff to do. And you won't be sleeping on the cot the entire time, but this is what we have at the time for now. So I hope it's fine and comfy enough for you."

“Yeah, I knew about the dance,” Ethan replied, “but the campout… that just sounds scary for a first year.”
James wasn’t sure how he should take that. Was it a compliment that he got out alive? Was it Ethan saying he didn’t think much of James? Or was it him impressed that James had gotten through it and wasn’t scarred for life. The latter wasn’t quite all that true, though…
James ended up just nodding in agreement.
The door opened, and another boy James hadn’t seen before stepped inside. He was carrying a cot, but he put it down before leaving abruptly without a word.
Eri entered as the other boy left.
“He has some stuff to do.” Eri explained. James assumed she was talking about the random boy that had walked in. “And you won’t be sleeping on the cot the entire time, but this is what we have at the time for now. So I hope it’s fine and comfy enough for you.”
James nodded. He certainly was not going to picky after Eri and her family decided to let him stay for a whole month.
“I’m sure it’s fine!” James said. He sat down on it, and bounced up and down slightly encouragingly. “It’s perfect.” he said. “Thanks.”

Eri looked at James. "That was my oldest brother Jackson. Okay so now that you have a bed I'm going to leave and go to my room. It's the door right across from this room." 

Eri leaves the room and closes the door. When she turns to go downstairs she hears Jackson's door open. 

"Eri come here for a moment." Jackson says looking at his younger sister. They needed to talk about something that had happened earlier that year.

"Yeah" Eri walked over to Jackson and walked into his room. By the look on his face it looked a bit like they would have a serious talk. Then she sat down in a chair across from his bed.

Jackson left his door cracked open and walked inside and sat down on his bed. "Okay, so I know you like to read, but you need to stop going outside past curfew at school. And yes I know." 

Eri looked at Jackson and nodded. "Fine, but I don't do it anymore."

"So what do you want to talk about? I mean like school or anything else." Ethan said wanting to get to know James a bit better since they would be spending lots of time together. 

"That was my oldest brother Jackson." Eri explained. James' thoughts went to his own character from his stories who was named Jackson.
"Okay, so now that you have a bed, I'm going to leave and go to my room. It's the door right across from this room."
James nodded his acknowledgement as she left. He thought briefly on how it sort of seemed like Eri narrated everything she did. Maybe that was just the way she talked, James thought.
"So what do you want to talk about?" Ethan asked suddenly, "I mean, like school or anything else."
James realized he kinda did want to talk to Ethan and get to know him better, but at the same time, he was getting sleepy. Saying he had a long day was a bit of an understatement. 
"Well, thanks." he said, "But right now, I'm actually feeling really tired. I kinda want to just get some rest, you know?" James hoped he wasn't offending Ethan or anything. He hoped he understood. Maybe the fact that they were both in the same Hufflepuff house would mean for James that Ethan would be understanding for now.
"We can talk in the morning!" James offered hopefully.

"Yeah, sorry. You must be tired." Ethan walks over to a door, opens it, and grabs a sheet and a blanket and hands them to James. "I'm going to turn the light out once you are ready." 

Eri looks at Jackson and nods. He gives her a smile of relief and she can go. The brunette gets up and walks out of Jackson's room and down the hall to her room. Opening her door there was immediately a flood of colors, silver, gold, sapphire, ruby, emerald, electric blue, neon turquoise, and etc... Lots of paintings and drawings of hers hung on the wall. A glowing orb hung from string from her ceiling gave off dim light and strings of fairy lights lined the edge of her entire room and crisscrosses in a a diamond shape around the glowing orb in the middle of the room. Multi colored cushions sat in the left corner with fluffy pillows. Fluffy multi colored carpets were every where except for where a round multicolored water bed sat in the far right corner. 

Feeling tired Eri closed the silver curtains and turned off her lights and laid down on her bed to go to sleep.

"Yeah, sorry. You must be tired." Ethan said apologetically. James watched as he pulled some blankets and sheets out of a door, which James thought might have been his closet. "I'm going to turn the light out once you are ready." Ethan said, handing the bundle of bedding to James.
James smiled, and nodded gratefully, feeling like he was already so much closer to Hogwarts than he was back in California.
James spread the sheets out on the cot he was given, and then put the pillows on one end. He sat down on the cot, and whipped the blanket onto the bed with him, he dug his feet under, and lay down, pulling the covers up to his shoulders.
"Thanks, Ethan." he said, now lain down completely and ready for sleep. "See you tomorrow... in the morning." James figured out loud.
James wondered about what tomorrow would be like. Or the next day, or the next weeks, or the next month, or even the next year. There were so many unanswered questions in James' mind. Would he see his family again? Did he even want to? Had he made the right choice, running away? What would his parents do?
James tried to shake off all of those thoughts as he slowly fell to sleep.

"Night" Ethan said to James as he turned the lights out and laid down to go to sleep.

Eri looked up in the dark at her ceiling. Hopefully she would have peaceful sleep unlike how she normally sleeps. Hopefully no nightmares or no warnings of things yet to come but she thinks none of those dreams and visions in her sleep are real. 

The brunette closed her eyes again and pictured Hogwarts. She missed that place so much, but it would be later when school starts back. Not many people know this, but her birthday is the first day of school. She doesn't really want anyone to know that might make it awkward for her so she normally just keeps it to herself and doesn't celebrate it. 

Eri laid there for a little while longer waiting for sleep to over take her. When it finally can and she drifted off to sleep she still missed Hogwarts but she had started thinking about what they would do tomorrow and how James parents were probably worried about him and maybe they were rethinking there decision to pull him out of Hogwarts. She hoped James would see them again sometime in his future.

James had a dreamless sleep for the most part. He fell into a tired, heavy sleep shortly after Ethan had turned off the lights. Eventually, however, he did dream.
James dreamt that he woke up.
His eyes fluttered open, seeing the ceiling above him. It was morning time, but a glance over at Ethan's bed told James that Ethan was still asleep.
At first, James was confused with where he was, but then he remembered the events of the past 24 hours. He was at Eri's house in Europe, since he had run away from home.
James grimaced at the recollection, but got up, stretching his arms awake above his head. He swung his legs off of the cot he had been sleeping on, and got to his feet. After looking around, James located his big duffel bag he had brought with him from California. It was rather big and heavy with all of his personal possessions, and James was honestly surprised with himself that he had successfully carried it all the way to London.
James pulled some clean clothes out of his bag, and got dressed. He left the room as quietly as possible, not wanting to disturb Ethan. After closing the door, James turned around, expecting to see the hallway, but gasped in surprise and shock.
In front of him, a large hole gaped out into the open. But it was what he saw beyond that captivated James. Outside, it was bright and sunny, Hogwarts castle shining brilliantly on the luminously green hillside by the sparkling lake, and the scene screamed happiness. James’ heart leapt with joy as he saw streams of students heading towards the castle. He looked hard for any familiar faces, and he thought he saw some friendly heads in the crowds. It seemed like nothing could wipe the beaming smile off of James’ face.
He took a step forward, entranced by the wonderful scene, when a wall of fire erupted in front of him. James fell backwards in fear with a yelp.
A voice boomed through his head in a vibrating and painful echo, “YOU WILL FACE THINGS MUCH WORSE THAN FIRE.”
And then, James woke up for real with a scream.

Ethan woke up with a start. "You okay?" He said his voice full of concern.

Eri had not slept very well so she did what she normally did when she couldn't sleep, painted or did some drawing. She had her lights on in her room but if wasn't so bright that it would be seen in the hallway.

Somewhat early in the morning Eri heard a scream. It wasn't loud enough to wake anyone that was asleep. Ethan had probably woken up to it since it came from his room. Quietly the brunette wearing what she was wearing the day before and opened her door quietly and closed it quietly.

Eri walked over to Ethan's room and knocked lightly and waited for someone to say she could come inside. James probably just had a nightmare. Those wore normally what caused people to scream in their sleep. Or he had what she had scary dreams that seamed so real but had some ominous warning, but she thought that they never came true so she could just live her life normally, or as normal as it can be.

As she waited she thought through her past experiences at Hogwarts and how she might be able to improve this year.

Panting and sweating, as if the fire's heat in his dream had been real, James sat bolt upright awake. 
"You okay?" James heard Ethan ask concernedly.
James looked up at Ethan, trying to control himself with his labored breathing. "Yes..." he finally answered, lying. "Sorry, just a bad dream. It was nothing." he insisted. "Sorry for waking you up."
Just then, James heard a knock at the door. His head snapped over at the sound, and he tried to mentally calm himself down by telling himself not to be so jumpy.
James wanted to look over at Ethan for confirmation that it was okay to let whoever it was in, but James ended up saying "Come in!" anyway.
"Come in!" he called out to whoever was behind the door. He figured it might be Eri. Would he tell her his dream? Should he? Did his dream even matter? Something told James he should keep it to himself. Besides, it was exactly that: just a dream, right? James hoped so.
He tried to clear his mind, thinking about how soon enough, he'd be back at Hogwarts. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts...
"It's alright Ethan..." he tried to reassure him, "I'm fine, don't worry."
