Prodigal Disarming Procrastination

Prat felt a little disappointed as he sat in the cozy study of their manor. He'd only recently came back to his own home, spending a greater half of his break in london, it's muggle side. He now had plans to learn some spells with his father, he wondered if this was the time he'll be learning something like bombarda or cracker jinx.

Yet reality struck when he realised all he was about to learn was- Revulsion jinx. A spell that was hardly a notch above the expelliarmus in terms of innate excitement or willingness to learn. His father, a former auror with his own experience of battles and whatever else Prat thought Aurors like him did, was now relegated to the role of a very patient and well mannered tutor. This was his attempt to spend his time with his son who was no longer as much around as he wished for. The father having promised his son some "special" spells for tonight was nowhere to be seen.

The stern look in his mother's eyes as hovered by the doorway was enough evidence of how she had managed to veto any ideas or chances the child may have had at learning an advanced spell.

With a sigh Prat readjusted his grip on his wand, the wooden weapon as unyielding as it's wielder.
He knew his mother meant well, but the thought of his peers learning better spells while he was stuck with an all inclusive Disarming charm. Technically he did not know this spell either way, thus pushing away his envy, Prat prepared his wand and mind. A spell this minor should be no problem for a skilled spell caster as him.

His father demonstrated the wand movement with swift flicks of his wrist, a speed Prat wished to match sooner than later. The incantation rolling off his tongue with the ease of a man who'd used this spell more times than Prat could count.

Prat mirrored his father's actions, same movement same incantation, with a steady breath he pointed towards the apple his father held within his hands and desired for the right outcome. With no surprise to either of the three people present, the apple shot out of his father's hands, dropping to the ground with a gentle thud only further reduced by it's impact on grass.

His father's lips curled into a small smile as he grabbed the apple once again, "Another" he said, challenging the child to try once more.
