Grimacing as Marshal managed to dodge to the side, Evelynn prepared for another round. She could have sworn her spell had clipped him, but the absence of a sprouted tail suggested otherwise. Annoyance would only compound as he retorted back at her. Pushed to the limits of her patience and tolerance, she had meant every word of it, and had fully believed she would be able to follow through on that promise without effort. Marshal had always been incapable as a caster. Sure, she had seen him improve dramatically since first offering her tutelage, but had only ever witnessed him casting the most basic of spells. Enough to allow him to proceed to the next year, effectively.
When she had spat her threat, nothing of it had seemed remiss at the time. The moment he turned it around to mock her, however, she faltered, a blush steadily returning up her neck and to her face, ears growing hot. The label of super villain felt so juvenile and ridiculous that he may as well have slapped her in the face; the accusation of her delivering a monologue equally as grating on her pride. She had put claim to neither, and would have vehemently opposed it if it wouldn't just make the whole situation even worse. Was that really how he saw her? He was the one that had acted irrationally. He was the one that had ruined everything. He was the one that had kept a chip on his shoulder and a sour mouth ever since. He was the one who'd interrupted her, and retaliated against her when she was never targeting him in the first place and had put precautions in place to avoid anyone accidentally getting caught in the crossfire of her practice. Every single time, he had to turn it around on him. Was it too much to ask for him to actually control his emotions and think before he acted, for once?
The icing on the cake was the curse he spat at her, dripping with vitriol. It wasn't supposed to be like this. How was she supposed to explain that it was for his own good? Anyone that ever meant anything was gone. Except for him, except for the one person she'd actually pushed away in time. It was for his own good. His continued existence just proved that. But if he was going to be like this, maybe it was for the better anyway. Teeth grit together, frustration prickling at her eyes. Her stomach churned, emotions that she had suppressed and shoved down time and again threatening to rise against the tumult. Unfortunately, there would be nothing she could do to prevent it. Quite unexpectedly, Marshal would cast with renewed conviction, quicker on the draw than she was expecting. As lithe as she was, his aim proved true.An understated horror of understanding flashed across her features immediately before the churning of her stomach overwhelmed her. She had inflicted this curse on others a time or two when it had been the method to draw out hag slugs, but never had she been on the receiving end. Indescribable nausea curled her fingers and shuddered her to the bone as thick mucous and wriggling pulsatile fleshy mounds suddenly pushed themselves up from her gullet. Her palm hit cold stone in seconds as heaves overcame her, the sight of slugs slopping onto the floor almost enough to induce a second wave, the discomfort causing the odd tear to trickle down either cheek and her complexion to sallow. To be reduced to such a state, not so dissimilar from groveling in its appearance, vulnerable in its incapacitation, and by Marshal of all people, it tore her pride to ribbons. That she only had herself to blame for its escalation only salted that wound.Marshal casts Slug-Vomiting Spell [DC 11]

Not having been one of those individuals unfortunately infected, there would be no expulsion of a hag slug, and Marshal would not find himself in a situation of having to face off against an impossible creature. But Evelynn was still very much human, and while he had effectively discouraged any further verbiage from her, they'd crossed the threshold into the land of no return as far as wounded prides went. Knuckles whitening with the force of grip on her wand, she wiped her mouth on a sleeve and snapped it in his direction. As tempting as it might have been and as much as vengeance made her want to hurt him, she wouldn't fall to that level. But neither would she relent. Venom coated her pained incantation of, "Anteoculatia."Evelynn's HP: 1000 - 50 = 950Evelynn casts Antler Growth Hex
