Em considered what Dani suggested, wondering why he didn't think to invite older students. He supposed that was intimidating to him; finding one friend even in his year was studious. He mulled it over for only a second, and set his quill back down.
"If we are opening it up to older students, which I am not against at all, we would likely need to prepare for the probability that the whole house could arrive," Em thought aloud. "We would need a few cases of butter beer, and snacks. My Pa told me that the House Elves in the kitchen are pretty eager to help students who visit them. Getting that much likely wouldn't be difficult, if we asked the right one. I wonder if we would need some sort of repayment?"
Em scratched his head, and looked up and down the table again; this time not trying to be secretive. More doing an ambiguous head count.
A few spots away, his eye was caught by a small gleam of light off a golden badge, pinned to an older student's lapel. Her messy black hair was tied into a bun, freckles across her nose, about fifteen years old. She was laughing, and goofing about with some food, trying to make her counter-part laugh. Sitting across from her was a lanky boy, very clean cut blonde hair; almost a buzzcut. Large spectacles sat on his pointy nose. He did not look amused now, nor were there any signs of a laugh ever gracing his face.
"Prefects." Em stated, looking back at Dani. "What do you suppose we do with them? Puking Pastilles?"

@Emmanuel BourneThat fact was true. There could be a possibility of the whole house arriving, or at least a larger number than they intended. Danielle ate another piece of her muffin.
"I doubt the houselves would want repayment. They don't want repayment as it is for anything in general. It's like, quite literally their purpose." Dani stated before watching as Em looked up and down their table again, probably doing a head count.
She watched his eyes linger on someone, or rather, two people down the table. She leaned over the table pretending like she was grabbing a pitcher of juice while glancing at the two students. She didn't want to get caught directly staring. She was always taught it was rude. Danielle kept the pitcher over by the two of them for a second, long enough for Em to turn back towards her and ask what they were to do about the prefects.
"If we're lucky, the prefects won't be an issue. I'd even say that some might even join in our festivities. Also, if there's a large group of students at the party, a prefect can't give everybody a detention. There'd be time to run. We'd just have to hope no one snitches." Danielle pointed out.

Em snickered at Dani's house elf comment. He appreciated her wits; clearly she's meant to be in their shared house.
"I'm not sure that the guy wouldn't try his hardest to put an end to any hooliganism," Em teased, finding the male prefects demeanor off-putting. "The girl may be swayed, so this could work. He turned to face more towards the hall entrance. He subtly gestured towards the doors. "The kitchen is right by the Hufflepuff common room. I scoped it out a couple days ago; looking for a loo." Em pointed more definitively towards the doors, "Through the corridor containing the House Point Hourglasses, to our right, and down the spiral staircase," he hooked his hand as he spoke, indicating the turn in the directions.
"There's a girl, named Emily Shepherd, that I met on the train. She is quite kind, and would likely be willing to help us. I was thinking she may let us borrow her house cloak. You could wear it when we sneak to the kitchens; while you stand guard. Having a Ravenclaw down there would likely be a bit suspicious."
Em smiled as he planned, enjoying that his wit was showing while he planned mischief. He thought his Pa would be a little proud, knowing his son was inclined to break a few rules.

@Emmanuel BourneDanielle smiled at Em as he snickered at her comment about the house elves. She finished off her muffin while listening to what he had to say about swaying the prefects.
He did make a valid point about the male. The guy looked like he had no joy in his life whatsoever. The girl, however, looked vivacious and enthusiastic. The exact polar opposite of her fellow prefect. She grinned at the revelation. Opposites did attract.
She got cut out of her thoughts about the duo as Em began to make hand motions about where the kitchens were located. Danielle did her best to follow along, making a mental map based on his hand motions of where she'd have to go. She nodded along with the rest of his plan. She did have to give Em credit for his wit. He was thinking everything through, what could or couldn't happen.
"Tell your friend Emily that it would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, not getting caught is the idea, yet if I somehow do get caught, in Hufflepuff robes, the prefect or professor or whoever might take me back to the Hufflepuff common room, which then I'm stuck not knowing a password." She noted, ready to keep that fact in mind and make something up on the spot. "I hope you know that if I get close to getting caught, I'm getting in the kitchens or hiding somewhere close as quickly as possible."

Em nodded at Dani. "You have to save yourself, that is expected." He acknowledged, knowing he would be inclined to do the same. "If we were to execute this during the feast, rather than after, maybe if you got caught you would be brought back to the Hufflepuff table. That way, when we are dismissed to our common rooms, you can slink away in the crowd, and hand back the robe in the process. No evidence of our transgressions. Though, we may need to recruit the fun-Prefect to our cause."
As Em spoke, many students began to rise from their now empty plates, slung bags over their shoulders, and started to wrap up their conversations, or take them on the move towards their first class of the day.
Em grabbed a muffin, and put it in his bag; figuring he would likely need to skip lunch today to do some reconnoissance. Luckily, he had charms with Emily later, so he could propose her becoming an accomplice.
"I'll talk to Emily, and see about getting that robe today. Should we meet during dinner tonight? I can let you know what she says, while everyone is a bit more distracted. We've got today to plan, tomorrow to act. Can I trust you, Dani?" Em asked, more as a joke. He had a wide smile on his face, as he extended his hand to Dani. This wasn't a welcoming handshake, but one of business. To shake it, would seal their planning; and put them on the same team. Dani and Em versus the Rules of Hogwarts. The operation: acquire butter beer and sweets for the Ravenclaw common room.

@Emmanuel BourneDanielle nodded, knowing she'd have to be ready to fend for herself in case she got caught. She then listened to the rest of Em's proposal about when to do their little kitchen heist, agreeing with his thought process about sneaking off to the kitchens during dinner instead of after.
"I think that would be best. Plus I could make up a sob story about getting lost on my way to dinner or something." She shrugged, "Whoever catches me might take pity on the fact I'm a first-year and wearing a Hufflepuff robe." She laughed.
Noticing the other students around her begin to pack up their belongings and head off to their first classes of the day, she began to do the same, rolling up the parchment that held her History of Magic notes from Em's homework. She placed the roll carefully in her bag before putting the stopper on her ink pot and placing her quill and the ink in her bag as well. Danielle watched as Em grabbed a muffin, placing it in his bag for later.
She nodded along with what Em said next about talking to this Emily girl. Danielle hoped she'd help. "Sounds good to me!" Danielle said, putting a mental note in her head to remember to meet with Em during dinner that night. She then watched as Em stuck out his hand for a handshake, a sign of business. "Of course you can trust me." Danielle responded to his joking question with a smile, grabbing Em's hand and shaking it firmly before letting it go. "See you tonight." She said with a small smile before turning to leave the Great Hall and make her way to her morning classes.

Em nodded, as he took up from the table, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "See you tonight!" He returned the sentiment with a smile. He pushed forward through the crowd, keeping up a brisk pace. He wanted to beat the crowds of student heading to their morning classes.
Although he did not know Hogwarts too well, and could easily get lost. Em had made a mental map to Charms; as it was the subject he was most excited about. He traveled what he felt was the most efficient way, only half paying mind to the students he had to step around to make it to the classroom. He was distracted, going over the plans Dani and him had made moment earlier; as well as deciding on his next step in preparing their heist.
Although Dani and Em likely kept a similar schedule; both in being first year Ravenclaws, he knew they couldn't risk talking more about the party while in class. The odds of being over heard and letting the surprise get out was too great. They also could not risk being over heard by a teacher, as that would just land them in detention Friday night.
No, he had to be strategic.
_________
As Em entered into Charms, Em took note of the empty seat that usually held Emily. He was among the first students in the class, only being beaten out by two unusually shy Hufflepuffs, who like started the day in their seats.
Em set down his bag, and quickly grabbed a small piece of paper, left over from he piece he'd torn early when talking to Dani. Em took out his ink and quill, dipped the nub into the black liquid, and wrote out a quick message to his friend:
Emily,
Could you please meet me outside the classroom when class is over?
I need to ask you something!
Hope you've been enjoying your common room, and making friends!
Thanks,
Em
He folded it into a small triangle, and set it in Emily's desk where she'd find it quickly. Step number one, begun.
Em went back to his seat, and kept a side eye on the classroom door as more students entered in, taking their usual (yet not assigned) spots. Among the crowd he spotter Emily, who gave his a quick wave. Em smiled, and pointed at her desk, mouthing that he left her a note.
As class began, Em turned back to face the front, his mind focusing on his next step: acquiring a Hufflepuff robe.

@Emmanuel BourneDanielle's day was, in other words, boring, each minute taking what seemed like forever. Throughout her school day, she finished most of her work, only becoming mildly distracted in classes like History of Magic. In the most boring classes, she caught herself thinking about their little kitchen heist that would take place the next day. She thought about the smaller details, like how they were less likely to get caught while everyone was at dinner. Surprisingly, Danielle found herself taking the longer routes to some of her classes. Routes that passed right by the kitchens so she could scope out the surroundings, realizing that their kitchen heist was in her head a lot more than she thought it was.
Moving on to her last class of the day, Transfiguration, Danielle once again found herself walking right by the Kitchens. She sighed, exasperated with herself. She scanned the area, slowing her pace slightly while trying not to hold up the flow of traffic in the hallway, quickening her pace once she rounded the corner again. There weren't many spots to hide near the Kitchens besides in the Kitchen. The best she could do was either a tiny broom closet or a floor-length tapestry that was practically flush against the wall. She'd figure it out.
Once Danielle arrived at Transfiguration, she took her normal seat in the middle of the classroom, pulling out her book, parchment, and a quill, ready to take the day's notes that the professor would end up putting on the board. She sighed, resting her chin in her hand and praying that the class would go by quickly. She couldn't wait to be done with her day and meet up back with Em for dinner.

The day passed slowly, as if it knew that the two Ravenclaws were planning to stir up some trouble; and it was trying to circumvent that. Alas, the test of time would force the sun through the sky, and the hours to pass. Before long, the entire student body had finished their final classes, and began shuffling toward the Great Hall for dinner, after a quick pit-stop by their respective common rooms and dorms.
Em, however, would not follow his usual path to the Ravenclaw Common room, where he would normally wash up for dinner, and relieve himself of the burden his ever-heavier growing bag would put on his shoulder. Today, was different.
Instead of head up the tallest tower in Hogwarts, he would descend to the main hall, round the corner, and head towards the Great Hall. He spared a passing glance, at the nearly empty room. No teachers, either then the caretaker, were at their seats at the head of the hall. Very few students were sprinkled around their house's tables. Perfect.
Em turned around, and followed his own crude instructions he'd given earlier to Dani. He head down the spiral staircase, that lead to the Hufflepuff Common rooms, and more importantly, the kitchen.
He spared a few smiles at the passing Hufflepuffs, most of whom ignored him. He had hoped that his nearly daily decent to meet Emily would have worked in his favor of striving off suspicion of him being in the lower corridors of the castle. Instead of continuing down the hallway towards the Hufflepuff common room, Em stopped near the kitchens; and took in the area.
The door disguised as a portrait of a fruit bowl stood about seven feet tall, and four feet wide. The painting was expertly crafted, and the pear was so plump, you had an instinct to pick it out of the bowl entirely. As wonderful as the portrait was, Em focused on the remainder of the hallway. It was distinctly bare. Not many places to hide at all. That would be an issue.
Em did notice, however, that there was a well-sat bench very near the entrance to the kitchen. A table was off to the side, and Em could imagine many Hufflepuff students having used that spot to study, away from the rowdy common room. That would have to be Dani's watchful position. Em patted his bag, plump with the Hufflepuff robe folded inside. He took a breath, and headed back up the stairs to wait for Dani in the Great Hall.
As he went back up, the crowd filing in for dinner was dense; hight of the rush. He followed in casually, and made his was halfway up the Ravenclaw table, and sat down; placing his bag in the spot next to him on the bench. He looked up the table, and saw the stiff Prefect taking his usual spot opposite the relaxed one.
Em smiled, as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a brightly colored wrapper; and waiting for Dani to come down for dinner.

@Emmanuel BourneAfter the dreadfully long Transfiguration class, Danielle quickly headed up to the Ravenclaw common room to put her bag and work away. Danielle quickly looked at her reflection in the floor-length mirror in her dorm room, briefly fixing her hair, brushing back the flyaways, and readjusting her black hair bow to rest straight before she headed down to dinner to meet with Em. Finally something else interesting in her day. She would've been lying if she said she wasn't waiting all day for dinner to arrive.
Making her way back down from the Ravenclaw common room, Danielle went down the various staircases until she reached the entrance to the Great Hall. Not seeing her new friend/partner in crime at the entrance, Danielle began to walk into the hall, the smell of freshly cooked food wafting through the air. A small smile appeared on Dani's face as she walked along the Ravenclaw table, finally spotting Em around the middle of the table. He seemed to have some sort of brightly colored paper in his hands.
Approaching the boy, Danielle took a seat right next to him without warning. "What's that?" She asked, pointing to the brightly colored paper in the boy's hand.
