Jacob nodded along as Klynn explained his exposure to muggle culture, opening his mouth, as if he was about to make a comment on the matter, before shutting himself up. He needn't make his opinion on a witch working in a muggle school heard, why risk offending Klynn? As confusing as it was, why not work at Hogwarts or another of the magical schools? The choice to work in a muggle school simply made sense, but then again, who was he to judge?

"Sounds interesting enough, I suppose." He muttered, the plot did, despite his scepticism, somewhat hook his interest. Enough for him to at least give the book an attempt at reading.

"Enough about muggles. " He placed the seat down on the seat to his left, sitting upright. "We're off to a school of magical, after all, that's much more exciting. "

"What house do you want to be in?" I think all the Thorleys have been Slytherins, and most of my mums family have been too, so I think I'll go there too.. I wouldn't mind Ravenclaw, though. I think an uncle or something was a Ravenclaw. But if I go to Hugglepuff, I think I'll just ask to be transferred to Durmstrang."

"You really don't mind?" Jacob asked, visibly surprised by Klynns easy going attitude towards the houses. Whilst Jacob understood objectively that he'd be fine in just about any house, he certainly had his strong preferences for where he'd end up. "I guess I did forget to mention Gryffindor. " He muttered.

He didn't feel too strongly about Gryffindor himself, nor probably did his father, as many of his Auror colleagues had been former Gryffindors, so Jacob was actually somewhat fond of the house himself. "Gryffindors cool, I guess. They stand for some good stuff, despite, uh.. I guess some of their attitudes." He shrugged, before going on to explain. "Lots of dads colleagues are Gryffindors, so he wouldn't mind. My mums family, though, I don't think they would be too happy. Especially my grand parents.. Even my dads parents wouldn't be happy, that's just old fashioned stuff though."

Whilst he wouldn't be horrified if he was in Gryffindor, his preference for Slytherin was still very much present. "Think I would be the first though, might be kind of funny. Imagine I become a duelist or something for the rival house of my family.." The image was quite funny in his head, but it would likely end being a rather annoying situation to navigate, should it happen.

"Fair enough, I suppose." He shrugged at Kylnns apparently complete lack of care towards his house, not entirely understanding how someone could have no care whatsoever. "Sure, you learn the stuff, but I guess it's... Who you'll be living around, if that makes sense. I don't think I'd particularly get along with anyone in Hufflepuff, at least not from what my parents have said."

"Sure. " He grinned at his hypothetical placing in Gryffindor, and the subsequent invitation Kylnn would receive to witness the ensuing drama. "Reckon there'd be a howler or something, though, so you wouldn't need to visit to see the reaction." His grin only widened at the mention of family drama, his family had never really been big for drama, very little exciting things happening around the Thorley household, but he'd witnessed drama many times in public settings, and it'd always made him laugh.

"Can't remember if I asked, you looking forward to many of the classes, beside soft course.. " He tapped the DADA book to his side. "I think transfiguration seems pretty cool, dad said it's hard but interesting.. Maybe potions too, not sure though. Charms too, I guess.. Basically just the magic-based subjects seem cool, not the.. You know, history of magic and astronomy type stuff,"

Jacob leant back into his seat with a sigh, watching the countryside pass in a blur. It seemed a bit odd for wizards to be taking trains once he spared it a thought, why couldn't those who lived in magical house holds simply floo to Hogwarts, or a nearby building?

"Dunno about that." " He muttered absentmindedly, seemingly entirely disinterested in History of Magic. "Nothing cool about learning which Giant did this, or which goblin did that.. Any cool thing in History will be some Dark Wizard, and I bet that'll be in Defence Against the Dart Arts."

As Klynn directed his attention to the hallway, Jacob also took a quick glance before reaching up to grab his suitcase, settling it down onto the bench besides himself. "Probably, yeah. " He nodded, quickly digging around in his suit case, looking for his robes. Eventually, he pulled out a perfectly kept set of robes, seemingly completely flawless despite having been stuffed haphazardly into his case.

"This whole train things sort of cool, though.. Bit too long, though. They should just let us floo in, or let one of our parents apparate with us. At least, I don't get why older kids can't do that." "
