Typically when Nellie was feeling self conscious, she tended to play with her hair. Usually her hair was in braids, she she was often smoothing it down. Currently, she was ok, but she recognized the anxiety in the other girl. Speaking to others with social anxiety had a strange effect on Nellie. It made her less anxious. Maybe it was simply the beginning of interactions that caused the girl the most anxiety. Whatever it was, she seemed mostly at ease now.
The Hufflepuff nodded in agreement. "The library is perfect. We can think that way. And maybe they have books on fixing relationships for your other siblings?" She figured that idea might appeal to the Ravenclaw. The girl was pretty sure that there was a book for everything. The only books that really appeared to her were the fiction ones.
She scrunched her nose before rubbing it with her index finger. Nose blind was not happening. It seemed to be getting worse, somehow. "Ugh. Why are birds so gross?" She glanced at one that was staring at her. It wouldn't surprise her in the least if the owl understood what she was saying. "It's true!" Yes, she was speaking to the owl.
Refocusing her attention on Willow, she smiled. "No time like the present. No real reason to wait, either. I'm free if you are. Besides, looks like you've wanted to do this for awhile so," she shrugged, "let's get it done."

Willow was actually relieved that Nellie wanted to go right then, and she let herself smile- a real smile, not one tight with anxiety or worry. She realized that she really liked Nellie- she was very sweet and seemed smart, and Willow hoped that they could develop into friends. She wasn't very sorry to be leaving the smelly owlery, and she nodded when the Hufflepuff suggested they look for a book once in the library.
"That sounds great. I love books," She said agreeably. It was true that there was a book for just about anything- she thought that people would be much more reasonable and better at decision-making if they opened their minds to a book. "And I would really like to make up with my other siblings, but..." She opened her mouth, then paused, biting her lip, wanting to put this delicately. "My other sister, Maeve, is pretty... difficult." She was a little sad to say it, but it was true. Maeve had never liked her, and she doubted she ever would. Of course, that didn't mean that Willow would be nasty to her- it wasn't in her nature to fight back.
"Anyway, we can go work on Aisling's letter now! Um, lead the way?" She stepped back from the entrance to the owlery, blowing hair from her eyes and intending to follow Nellie down to the library.

I've lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time- because I read.

The owlery was a place that was not suited for many things. You came, sent your owl, and left, leaving the smell behind you. It certainly was not suited for crafting the perfect letter to reconcile difficult familial relationships, even if the idea had been born there.
Nellie's smile was bright. "Me too! Though I don't know that I am very interested in books beyond fiction." She was not a Ravenclaw that prized knowledge. She was a Hufflepuff that enjoyed making people happy and comfortable, and that included herself. "I love sitting by the fire with a good story." The Hufflepuff hadn't brought anything with her, and so had nothing to pack. Even the letter she'd originally carried was now on it's way to England where her parents were likely having tea.
Her brows knit together at the news of the other girl's other siblings. It sounded dire, and Nellie determined in that moment to ask about Maeve after finishing the letter to Aisling. If she could help, she would. However, she might also be forced to recognize that not every situation could be saved. At least she could hope for the best in this case. Even if she managed to help with Aisling alone, it would be a win in her book.
Giving her new friend a nod in confirmation that she was indeed ready to head out, she maintained her warm smile. "Let's go, then." She lead the way to their next location.
