𝓐fter shooting a perfectly reasonable and not at all petty glare at Team Rocket, Bex turned her attention fully to the Hufflepuff boy. He seemed proper nervous of her, which was hilarious considering she was very much on the shorter side of her fellow first years, and was currently wearing approximately twenty jumpers. Perhaps he was a nervous person in general, or perhaps he just had an especially pervasive fear of brooms.

Despite her hand being held out for many embarrassing moments, the Hufflepuff, whose name was apparently Landon, made no move to shake it before Bex awkwardly let it fall to her side. Rude, but she would be undaunted.

So Finnegan wasn't a Hufflepuff. She added this knowledge to the new Finnegan dossier she was assembling in her brain. This wasn't much to go on, but it was technically more information than she'd had before this conversation, so she would tentatively label this as a win. Good job, Bex. You could be a journalist.

"Oh! You're friends with Helena, too? I guess that makes sense, seeing as you're both in the same house." It would be nice if she could be in the same house as her friends. She was currently playing a secret game with herself to see how little she could interact with her roommates on a day to day basis. She was winning.

Bex gestured back to the whispering conspirators who had prompted her to make this excursion in the first place. "I think that boy might be trying to sabotage Helena's team. Or maybe the other team. I'm not super clear on the details yet, so I'm investigating." And she would make sure he went to jail, which went without saying.
