"Thank you," Emily replied as Serena seemed a bit impressed that Emily was so organized.  She asked about the potions ingredients since she wasn't sure if they needed to bring their own or the school supplied them.  "I think you should buy whatever is on the school list.  If you can get them from home, that would be even better and it would save you a bit of money," Emily replied.  Carefully holding the package of ingredients, Emily listened as Serena explained how she had to check with her mother first which sounded like a good idea.  Emily didn't want Serena's mother to worry about her having gone missing.  "Okay, why don't you check with your mother while I head over to the Owlery to send my package.  If you mother allows it, you can meet me there," Emily suggested.

"I love Flourean Fortuscue's Ice Cream Shop.  It's the best around.  I always stop there whenever I come into Diagon Alley.  I can't say I have a particular favorite treat because they're all good.  We can check out some of the other shops too.  The shops are just so interesting and you never know what you might find in them," Emily added.  Emily couldn't help smiling at the thought of making a new friend before even getting to school!

Serena nodded, "Yeah, you're right. I might be able to get anything I've forgotten from home anyway," She replied. Being a pure-blood had one major advantage, she hailed from a family that relied on using magic. So magic was always used in the house and her mother had stocked up on most of the basic ingredients. In fairness, she doubted the school would require complex ingredients for first years anyway so her home supplies would probably suffice. However, if not, her parents visited Diagon Alley often and could easily pop by if need be at any stage to get some more things that they could owl to her. It wasn't difficult in the magical world to come by things like this.

"Great, it's a plan, I'll go check in with her then." Serena replied with a smile, hoping her mother would say yes. Plus it would be good to get some money from her mother so she could buy something too - she definitely wanted to actually eat the ice cream that was sold there. "Me too! It's so great, I haven't tried them all but I'm trying to make my way across the menu!" Serena joked. She would love to be able to say that she had officially eaten every single flavour of ice cream sold at the famous Flourean Fortuscue's. She was not even close to a quarter of the menu yet as they had tons of great options and she didn't come here all of the time. Mostly because she avoided shopping with her mother for a reason and her dad rarely went shopping!

"Okay, well hopefully I'll see you soon - if not, I guess I'll see you in school!" Serena replied. Either way, she would see Emily again fairly soon, she was sure of it. Serena waved bye before heading out of the shop. As she got to the door, she opened it and turned her head back over her shoulder to look at Emily, "Oh, just in case I don't see you again today, it was lovely to meet you, Emily." She finished as she smiled and then left the stop to go check in with her mother and leaving Emily to go visit the Owlery.

Serena had agreed with Emily about the potions ingredients.  And Emily had to agree that being from a pure-blood family did have its advantages.  Her father came here often for business purposes.  Most of the time, Emily came along with him to help and other times she just stayed at home.  She even brewed potions while he was gone.

"The ice cream shop is probably one of the most popular shop in all of Diagon Alley.  Sometimes my dad will have some delivered to our house and we would make ice cream sundaes together.  I'm going to miss those while I'm at school," Emily said sadly.  "I think my favorite flavor would be butterbeer flavor.  Do you have a favorite flavor or are you not able to choose one because they're all so delicious? Emily added.

"If your mother says it's okay, I'll be in the Owlery sending my package.  If I'm not there, then I will be in one of the shops nearby.  Just look for me, okay?" Emily said as she waved goodbye to Serena as she exited the shop.

Upon entering the Owlery, Emily walked up to the counter to address the package with her father’s name and their home address. She then ties the package to an owl’s leg. “There. Now Dad won’t have to worry,” she said as the owl flew off to deliver her package.  After a few minutes of looking around, Emily left to continue her shopping.  She hoped she would meet up with her new friend soon.
