"Your French is good!" Maddie replied in her native tongue, a smile on her lips as she encouraged the blonde. It certainly wasn't the worst the brunette girl had heard, and with some more opportunities to practice, Koko probably was pretty good with it! But she understood the shyness that came with speaking a language you normally didn't - it had taken a bit of effort to get as comfortable with English as she had, but having a best friend whose native tongue was English definitely helped.

Then came the ordering of their ice cream and the exchange of wizarding coin. "My pleasure," Maddie replied, when Koko thanked her for the ice cream. And she truly meant it. Stepping away from the counter at last, sweet treats in hand, the girls were at an impasse as for next steps. But Maddie's question did actually prompt Koko's departure, and she was a little dismayed. Hopefully her expression didn't betray that too much though.

"A new broom? That's really exciting," Maddie said, imagining the excitement was like her getting a new costume for a new dance performance. "And it was really nice meeting you too."

Koko's next words took the French girl by surprise, and she felt her breach catch in her throat. Did she really mean it? Madeleine surely had a stupidly wide grin on her face at the suggestion of keeping in touch, and she nodded earnestly. "That'd be great," she agreed, happily exchanging details with the Hogwarts girl. "My full name's Madeleine Nakamura." A minute more and they had officially departed each other's company, Koko leaving for her new broom and Maddie finding a table to sit at while she waited for Cassanora. There was no way she could hide the grin still staining her lips when her best friend entered the store, so of course she would regale Cass with every detail of the exchange.
