Mari observed when Landon commented about the stairs “Well... I was also late a few times, in the first year I arrived about 5 times... I often have very bad luck!” Mari admits, remembering all the times this happened, there were many, many! She didn't like being late for anything, but with Mari's “luck”, it was difficult not to be late.
After we talked about who would write the work, which in this case was Mari, and Mari gave the idea for everyone to go get what they needed, Landom tried to explain that he wasn't a bad student, Mari gave a small, calm laugh “Yes, I noticed! no problem” Mari says, getting ready to go get things from the dorm. While Mari gave the idea for everyone to go get the things they needed from the dorm, Landon agrees with Mari [ b]“Great!”[/b] Mari says, standing up and giving a small smile as she leaves to get her things,
As Mari headed towards the stairs, Mari began to confirm whether she had the book in the trunk or not, but soon after she remembered the moment she put it there, until, while she was already on the stairs, they insisted on changing it “NO! Why does this only happen to me!?”Says Mari muttering, she ends up going down and waiting for the stairs to change again, it took a few minutes, not as long as Mari thought, and then she starts walking. Walking fast to your dorm!
As Mari ran, she noticed that she didn't have her sketchbook with her No, where is it!? Did I leave it there? Mari wondered, continuing to walk at a fast speed, her book was right on top of the trunk, and Mari hurriedly picked it up and returned to the study room, this time the stairs were According to Mari, none of them moved (thankfully), and Mari finally arrived in the room while Landon was already there, she slowly goes to the table and sits down, and drops the book on the table, and noticing that she left the book there. notebook, sighing deeply for having run up the stairs so they wouldn't change, and for not having lost the notebook“ Here,
Sorry, it took me a little longer than I expected... and I swear, it's going to sound like I'm joking, but... The stairs...!” Mari says to Landon, we would have finished making it this and this really had to happen to him!

Landon smiled shyly as Mari mentioned being late sometimes. "Y-Yeah, I try to plan ahead, but those stairs have a mind of their own!" he said, laughing a little. He was glad to hear that he wasn't the only one who was sometimes late because of that sort of thing. Though sometimes he was late for things that were completely in his own control, like losing his things. If he was more organized, he would have fewer instances of losing his things. His brain was just always full of other stuff, so he tended to forget to keep things organized.
Landon settled into his seat at the table while he waited for Mari to return. He ran his hands along his notes, flattening out the folds that had developed because he hadn't taken good care of the papers after class. He sighed, a little frustrated with himself for being so disorganized, but he was trying. He was at least more aware that he was disorganized. Now it was just a matter of self-discipline. He really needed to work on it. Even though it wasn't as fun as just reading his history books and learning new things. Honestly, with his thoughts being about learning all the time, he was still surprised he wasn't a Ravenclaw, but the more he spent time in Hufflepuff, the more he felt like he did fit in with that house. It was just a shock when he first was sorted.
Landon looked up, smiling softly as Mari returned. "It's alright, the stairs are unpredictable. I was lucky my travels went well myself," he said with a hum. "Though, my dorms are closer to this room than yours are, so it makes sense that I would get here first," he added. Landon reached for the book she set on the table before hesitating a little. "Can I look at the book?" he asked, not wanting to be rude and just grab her belongings. "Maybe there's a section in the book that is perfect for our assignment," he said. He was settling into talking to her a little more easily now that they were talking about homework.

Mari returned the small laugh, responding to Mari's delay "It's...too unpredictable for us to control them!" Mari admitted, she tends to be always punctual if the ladder agreed, but sometimes it was very difficult!
As Mari looked at Landon's notes on the table, she took the sketchbook and put it inside her bag, and continued looking at Landon's notes " great! They're very good, don't worry about the handwriting, I can understand it perfectly!" Mari said softly to Landon, she started to read what was written there and it seemed very complete, the work seemed to go very well!
Mari starts to put the two notes together and prepares things to start writing since she is the one with this work today.
Mari smiles when she hears Landon saying that his trip had no “unforeseen events”.
"I don't usually have much luck either, so let's just say I'm completely used to it!" Mari admitted, Mari starts to think about where the Hufflepuff dorm was after what Landon said, Mari never really liked Hufflepuff , and she wasn't sure if she knew where their dorm was "it's on the first floor, right? Well... mine are at the very back (in the basements)!" Mari said, confirming her statement about Landon's dorm.
Mari was going to get the book while Landon goes first, but hesitates "Of course! Feel free, we'll work with him, so take it whenever you want" Said Mari " And yes, there is a section..."Adds Mari trying to remember which one it was “The fifth section I think, which is really recommended for this job!”Says Mari, remembering which section it was.
The conversation seemed to be flowing more normally and the two were finally ready to work!

Landon smiled softly as Mari laughed, glad that they were comfortable enough to at least smile and laugh together. He always felt a little nervous around girls, but he was doing his best to overcome his discomfort with them. Landon just really wanted to make friends, even though he was nervous about it at the same time. He was trying to get out of the habit of just going straight to his dorm after classes and not really talking to anyone else. Group projects were one way of doing this, kind of like a stepping stone to becoming more social with the safety net of it being school related.
Landon looked surprised as Mari stated that she could read his handwriting. "Honestly, not many people can," he admitted with a small smile. "E-Even I sometimes can't read my own writing," he added, laughing shyly. He sometimes rewrote his notes after classes were over just so they would be more easily read, especially when he had been writing so quickly to keep up with notes in class. Landon nodded when she asked where the dorms were for Hufflepuff. "First floor, yes. So I didn't have to take nearly as many moving stairs as you had to," he said. "I feel like the basements would be a creepy place to live," he admitted with a bit of a shudder. He wasn't too sure that he liked dark and damp basements.
Landon took the book and opened it to the fifth section, once he looked at the table of contents to find the right page. He skimmed the pages briefly and smiled. "Looks perfect," he said and went back to the beginning of the chapter. "Shall we?" he said and started to read out part of the book so that they could decide what information to provide in their homework assignment.

Mari laughed a little when she heard Landon admit that few people understood his handwriting, and sometimes even he couldn't read it " Seriously? I understand perfectly what is written, I've been used to reading much worse handwriting since little" Mari admitted, remembering one day that Mari and her best friend were working in pairs, and Mari was researching and her friend was writing, when it was time to present Mari wasn't able to read anything, so she just shook her head head while he presented the work!
"Well... I got it right!" Mari says jokingly " And no, for me I love living in basements, probably It's my favorite floor, it's cozy... understand?" Mari asked, unable to understand if Landon was understanding everything, or none of what Mari was trying to explain, Mari loved the basements, it seemed like a place tailor-made for Mari, and also because it had a kitchen, which meant it was easier to sneak out to eat in the early hours of the morning!
Mari looked at Landon as he leafed through the book "I think that's right!" Mari said when Landon arrived at the right chapter, Mari began to read silently, and see if it was necessary to add anything else to the notes and write the draft and then start “putting the pieces together”.
When Mari finished reading the first few pages, she quickly started writing, but continued with the same handwriting as when she wrote slowly. She looked at Landon as he read, seeing when she should turn the page to continue writing.

Landon smiled a little as Mari said that she was able to read his handwriting. He didn't know how she was able to read it, but he wasn't going to push. He chuckled a little as she said that she was used to reading messier handwriting. "M-My twin always complains about my writing," he admitted. "She has pretty handwriting," he explained. For Harper, everything had to be pretty, even her handwriting. Harper was all about appearances. Landon didn't really understand the drive for that, but he still loved his sister.
Landon hummed a little as she explained that she did like living in basements. "They can be a little creepy," he said. "But if you think they are cozy, I suppose I can see that," he said, though he wasn't really sure about what she was saying. He didn't like that basements could be dark, cold, and damp, and he didn't like them much. He was happy with where the Hufflepuff dorms were.
Landon read some of the book aloud, wanting to be sure that they got all the information they needed. He was determined to do well in his classes, even if he wasn't a Ravenclaw. He was allowed to still excel at school as a Hufflepuff. Not all smart people were Ravenclaws, after all. Landon paused in his reading and looked up at Mari. "What else do we need to finish the paper?" he asked curiously. "I don't want to leave anything out..." he added. Landon knew that they would be graded on what they included, so he was hoping they would have all the required information in their assignment.

Mari listened carefully to Landon as he talked about the basements, it was clear he didn't like it at all, he was the opposite of Mari "Yes, I like it, I like it a lot! Maybe if you look closely you'll realize how cozy they could be!" admitted Mari, not sure if Landon would like it, she loved the basements but Landon's tastes could be different, but it would be good if he saw them in detail, maybe he would end up liking them.
Mari started writing everything while Landon read it out loud, when she finished Mari turned the page but the next article wasn't exactly what we were talking about so Mari started perfecting the work making everything even better.
A few moments later Mari ends up interrupting Landon while finishing writing "Wait just a moment..." Mari says while finishing writing, "Okay, what do you think?" Mari said, dragging the parchment to Landon, Mari used to be organized when it came to school work, she always wanted to have everything perfect to get top marks, so every detail counted!
"Hmm, I don't know, I think it's okay, I think we've already added everything! What do you think we should add more of?" Mari said to Landon, I didn't want anything missing either, but I thought all the material was already there, but if Landon had anything else to add, Mari was willing to listen

Landon shrugged a little as she said that he might realize how cozy basements could be. "I suppose if they are well lit, then they aren't so bad..." he admitted. He just didn't like them being dark and damp. But he was a big fan of windows and sunlight, and those were things you generally didn't get in a basement. "Maybe I'll look more closely next time I'm in the basements," he conceded. He wanted to understand other people's points of view, even if he didn't really agree.
Landon paused as Mari interrupted him. He didn't think she was being rude, because he knew he had been reading aloud for a while. He just wanted to be sure that they got everything they needed for the assignment. He took a moment to set the book down before reading the parchment that Mari pushed toward him. He was quiet for a while as he read, before he looked up with a small smile. "It looks good to me," he said. "I'm afraid that if we add more, it would make the homework worse, you know?" he added. He didn't really want to put information in the homework that wasn't necessary, because that could sometimes count against their scores on the assignments.
Landon pushed the parchment back toward Mari and hummed a little. "I'm glad you wrote it, because we would lose points for my handwriting alone," he admitted with a sigh. He was trying to get better at writing more clearly, but his thoughts moved so fast sometimes that his hand could only keep up with a messy scrawl. He closed the book he had been reading from and set it aside to look at Mari, smiling. "Thank you for being a good assignment partner."

Mari gave Landon a small "nervous" smile when she heard him talk about the besements"ah... they are... I think you better go take a look, to see how they really are. they are!" Mari replied, cellars weren't very bright, they usually weren't, but Mari's tastes tended to be a little... different from others, so Landon would feel comfortable finding cellars terrifying, but it would be better if he saw it.
Mari waited, tapping her fingers on the table while Landon finished reading what Mari had written, she wanted him to like it because it was a work in pairs, something that Mari didn't like doing at all, she preferred to do things alone but in this case it was good that Landon liked what Mari wrote. " great, and yes... if we add more it won't be on topic, and points will be deducted from us for that... I think it's okay" Mari replied somewhat relieved upon hearing Landon's response
"Do you think so?" Mari said jokingly when Landon mentioned the loss of points for Landon's handwriting, it wasn't wonderful, but it was clear to see (or Mari could understand because of his experience), and it would be a shame if teachers deducted points... but Hogwarts is Hogwarts, and that would probably be something that could happen
As Mari begins to pack her things, Landon turns to Mari saying that she would have been a good study partner "Thanks... you... were too!" Mari said with a small smile, trying to hide the difficulty she had in admitting what she had just said, she hated doing group work, and whenever she was explicitly forced to do it, she usually had problems with all her colleagues, but with Landon it would have worked and Mari, for the first time, was happy to do group work.
When she finished packing her things she put down her diary, opening it to the page of the game that would happen in a few days, " Ah" Said Mari, going to get him after realizing it had fallen and putting it back in the bag
OOC: Landon may have been able to see that it said “quidditch game” before Mari went to get it

Landon chuckled a little as Mari told him that he should take a look at the basements sometime. "Maybe I'll look at them more carefully next time I'm down there. Or at least look with a more open mind," he said with a smile. He was always willing to look at things from other people's perspective, or at least trying to do so. As long as they weren't hurting anyone with their perspectives, that was.
Landon smiled and nodded as Mari agreed that they should stop with what they had already written. He was happy that they had completed the assignment without going too overboard. He nodded again as Mari asked him if thought they would lose points over his handwriting if he had done the writing. "I've lost points for how messy my handwriting is," he admitted. He really tried hard to make his handwriting more legible. It just didn't help that his brain worked so fast at times that his hand couldn't keep up with his writing. He was glad that Mari had decided to do the writing for this assignment.
Landon smiled as Mari said that he was a good study partner. "I'm glad we got paired together," he said. As a Hufflepuff, he didn't mind working with other people to achieve a goal. But he knew that not everyone liked to work in pairs or in a group. And honestly, Landon didn't like being paired with someone who wasn't going to do any of the work, but Mari had been a good partner for this assignment.
Landon started to gather all of his things together as they seemed to be done for the day. He was stacking his things when he noticed that Mari had dropped something. He bent down to pick it up, seeing that it mentioned the Slytherin Quidditch game that was upcoming. He didn't mean to look at her private things, but those words seemed to pop out at him. Mari picked up her book before Landon could reach it and he stood up again. "I... I didn't mean to see, but it mentioned Quidditch. Do you play?" he asked curiously.
