Almost like Fate  PV Simon Tilia   Finished
Delilah got up and gathering each tome, cheeks blushing but spirit unbroken. With determination, she rose—books clutched and balance regained. A triumphant stride forward, "No, I'm okay." She said with a wide grin on her face.

Arriving at the counter, excitement gleamed in her eyes. She placed each book with care, then delved into her overalls pocket in search of money. Fingers brushed against knuts and sickles, her determination unyielding. Retrieving the needed coins, she counted with a soft murmur.

"Oh, the sister with the weird boxes !" She exclaimed with a smile as the shopkeeper put the books in a bag for her. "I like her, she sounds fun !"

She placed the coins on the counter, after taking the heavy bag of books. "Well, I guess this is it," she said softly, her eyes reflecting a mix of emotions. "My own sister is also waiting for me at the ice cream shop and I still have some more shopping to do !

"Take care of yourself out there, Monti" Del murmured, her voice a mixture of affection and longing.

She gave him a gentle hug and with a final, lingering squeeze, Del released him from the hug, a wistful smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. As she stepped back, the moment lingered, an unspoken promise that their paths would cross again.
