Mahlioz could tell Tes was still feeling bad about what they'd done, and all the Slytherin wanted to do was reassure her. It was alright, it was alright, it was so much more than alright. Did Tes know this was the first time Mahlioz had actually flown in weeks? The first time she'd been able to go that high at all? Tes had changed it all. And though Mahlioz knew she would probably go right back to being terrified next flying lesson, she also knew that she would have this in her mind, and maybe she'd be able to go that high again one day.

Still though. Gods, she was excited to get a driver's license. Or, even more than that, to be able to Apparate. So she'd never have to touch a broom again!

They'd gotten much lower now, and Mahlioz could speak again. Tes told her that they were an only child, and asked her how many siblings she had, noting that it was probably a bustling home. "Two," Mahlioz said with a slight smile. She missed them. "Hyltwis is my older sister, and she goes to Beauxbatons. And Reltyl is my younger sibling, but they haven't done magic yet." She paused. "I really hope they get into Hogwarts, but I doubt they will."

When Mahlioz complimented Tes' bandana, they reached up to their fluffy blonde hair, as though looking for something. The mystery was soon solved: they apparently had one for their hair, too, but it would have been whisked away by the wind had they had it on.
At the mention of loving their house just for its color, Mahlioz couldn't help but grin. "That's exactly what it's like for me, too! Before I really appreciated being in Slytherin, wearing my favorite color really cheered me up about it. I had always wanted to be in Ravenclaw." Thankfully that phase was over. Slytherin was superior! :snake:

Even though they were close to the ground, Mahlioz felt a wave of relief wash over her when the two of them noticed the other students descending. Tes mentioned that they probably wouldn't get an O, but Mahlioz didn't care. Any other class she might have been devastated, but flying? If she got an A, it would be a miracle. As they landed, she responded, "Of course I'll help you out! There's no way it will be as miraculous as getting me to leave the ground."

Tes finished it off by telling Mahlioz that she should be proud of herself, and the Slytherin didn't know what to say. It wasn't her - it had been Tes the whole time, and she couldn't say thank you enough. When they reached over to pat her on the back, she dropped her broom and hugged them, a rare sight for the first year. "Thank you." She hoped she hadn't crossed a boundary, but Tes gave off very Irina-like vibes. And besides, Tes had definitely earned the hug.

Mahlioz left flying class feeling happier than she'd ever felt after one of them.
