Early Mornings at the Lake Closed

Chloe listened in fascination at Marco's accent, enjoying it. She smiled at him and watched as the girl came over to them. She smiled warmly at the girl, blushing slightly as she told her she was pretty. Chloe laughed, thinking back to her clumsy moment this afternoon. "I put it in a ponytail a lot, just because it's so long. It gets in my face all the time. Especially this morning. I tripped coming down here, like usual. I was walking and tripped over a tree root.” Chloe laughed to herself. But thank you! You are very pretty too!" She grinned at Cecily, meaning every word of her compliment. She really did think the girl was very pretty. She wanted to be her friend.

She smiled as Marco scooted over closer to her. She nodded excitedly as he invited her to read. "You're more than welcome to join! We have plenty of room. The more, the merrier."Chloe chucked again. She loved the opportunity to get new friends. The new girl seemed very nice, maybe the three could become really good friends and have adventures together? She would like that very much. She was needing some friends to go on adventures with.

Cecily smiled at the two as Marco introduced himself and the girl.

"Hi, Chloe and Marco. Nice to meet you both!" Cecily said, then she listened to Chloe's explanation of her hair.
"I see, and I totally get that," Cecily said after Chloe was finished. "Thank you, I don't get very many compliments like that!" Cecily beamed.
Cecily's insides raced with excitement as they both asked her to join their little reading group. Cecily smiled dreamily and happily and said, "Thank you very much, I'd love to join!" She crowded on the blanket, sitting on half of the blanket and half of the grass, so she wouldn't take up too much room. As she sat down, she looked at the two. They both seemed very nice, which was one big thing Cecily admired about Hufflepuff house. They both seemed like they were open to more friends, which was another thing Cecily kind of liked, although Cecily did think friends would be a distraction, especially at Hogwarts. Finally, Cecily asked them a question.
"So," Cecily began, turning her attention to the Great Lake. "what do you guys think of Hogwarts, Hufflepuff, you know, everything here? I sometimes think it's quite lonely. You see, I have four older siblings, two in Griffyndor and two in Hufflepuff, leaving me being the youngest, and the only one in Ravenclaw. Of course, I'm a person who doesn't make friends that easily, so it was hard when I first came here, but what about you both?"

Marco nodded in agreement as Chloe called Cecily pretty. "Yes, very pretty." He agreed, offering the girl a sugary smile as she sat down, letting her get comfortable. He wasn't one to make friends very easily, if at all. His last attempt ended with a broken nose, but we don't talk about that. He still tries though, his hopes are still up, let's hope they don't get crushed.

Marco perked up a bit at her questioning, fumbling with his sleeve. He looked like he had something to say, those murky blue eyes showing distress for a second before he wiped it away with a big smile. He slid his bookmark into his book, setting it aside to answer the other. "I-it's been great! I don't have many friends yet, but I'm still trying! I was little disappointed when sort into Hufflepuff, wanted to be Gryffindor like my сестра, but cannot complain, Hufflepuff is nice! Classes still strange for me, the teachers talk too fast sometimes, hard to keep up. But I am getting it. Still a bit hard, but it getting better." He's kind of lying through his teeth. He's only made two friends so far, but sometimes he feels as though they stay out of pity. He's really disappointed that he's not a Gryffindor, he wanted to follow in his sister's footsteps, he doesn't like being a Hufflepuff. And if it weren't for Lyrell's notes, he'd probably fail half of his classes, he's barely keeping up with the other students.

Chloe listened as the girl talked about her experience at Hogwarts. She nodded slightly, understanding what the girl was saying. "I don't make friends easily either.. I guess I'm overly enthusiastic or something. I'm not sure but it weird people off and annoys them." Chloe shrugs. She knew some actual friends who didn't care would come along eventually, but when?

She listened as Marco explained his situation. Maybe she didn't listen enough. Maybe that was why she didn't have many friends. Maybe she talked too much and didn't listen...

When Marco finished talking, she started again. "My parents were both in Gryffindor too. That's what I thought I was going to be in, but I'm really liking Hufflepuff. Everyone is super friendly." She smiled. "The classes are pretty hard, honestly.... I'm not doing too well." She said quietly. She kept meaning to find an older student to tutor her in Potions and Charms.

She looked back down at her book, realizing she had lost her place when she fell. She sighed. She would have to look back through the book later to figure out where she was. She looked back over at her new acquaintances. They were nice so far. Maybe they wouldn't be scared off by her. Just maybe.

Kevin follows Cecily down, curious about where she is going because he does not know his way around too much. When he sees the great lake he is astonished at the beauty that is entails in the morning time. Looking around he notices birds unlike the ones he had at home, the sunrise over the train tracks that lead up to the most magical structure of all, Hogwarts.

His eyes go wide and he feels the need to pinch himself to make sure it is not a dream, only to realize that his first morning at Hogwarts was his dreams coming true and it only inspired him more! "Wow it is so beautiful, I need to have morning coffee and study the animals that live around it! Does anyone have a camera? Wait, I can just draw right here and now while the magic is still in the air!"
He then proceeds to pull his drawing equipment out of his bag and has a seat by the water, using it to wet the brush he is using.
"Would anybody like to be in this scene? I am quite the artist I promise not to butcher your appearance." He smirks shyly trying to get a chuckle out of the three others nearby.

Cecily nodded as Marco and Chloe spoke. "I know, I kinda feel the same way. My whole family thought I'd be Hufflepuff. My two brothers are Griffyndor, you see, and my two sisters are Hufflepuff. None of us are really Ravenclaw like our mom, who was one. So my whole family thought I'd fit in Hufflepuff since I'm not really a Griffyndor. When I was sorted into Ravenclaw, I was really nervous because I'm super shy, and I was hoping to be with some of my family members. I haven't really talked to them about it. I guess they don't really care, but I'm sure they are all surprised I'm in Ravenclaw, because I'm not a Ravenclaw at all. I'm the least Ravenclaw-like out of the family. I'm surprised too, and I really hoped to be in Hufflepuff, because I knew I could make lots of friends, but I ended up in Ravenclaw, not really knowing why. I haven't figured it out... yet."
Cecily nodded thoughtfully and continued, "I'm not doing too well in classes either." She paused, remembering how she kept scraping As on her homework. "One of my pet peeves is bad grades, so hopefully I can do better in my homework, but they're all so hard."
Cecily paused again and sighed. Maybe she was spending too much time around people, maybe that was why she wasn't suceeding in classes. Cecily suddenly felt trapped, and became nervous. She looked down at her book and tried to read again. Then, another boy, Kevin Grandsmith came to the lake. Cecily ducked her head down, as he asked one of them to be in his scene. Not wanting to be rude, she said quietly, "Uh, you can use me, if you want." She hoped Marco or Chloe would go instead of her.
