Nate could not really be happy about his victory. The fight was a complete failure due to his loss of control. Anyone else would say he didn't care because his opponent did the same and started but a Smirnow would never think like that. Nate knew that he was very strong for his age and that he would become even stronger. He had to be in control of his strength every second, he couldn't lose it and let anger take over from his actions. But it had happened today and he was glad that his father did not witness it.

After his brother had finished his sermon and he had said goodbye to his friends, the room belonged only to Katherine and him. He didn't want to see anyone at that moment, but he was pleased by her presence. It surprised him even more when she stretched wordlessly and put her arms around him. It took a few seconds, but Nate leaned into her embrace and wrapped his arms around her slender body. He listened to her, gently resting his chin on the top of her head. He couldn't help chuckling softly. "Katherine, none of this was your fault." He said seriously though and looked assuringly into her eyes as she released the embrace.

"You better not regret kissing me either." He replied with a wink and he noticed her cheeks flushed slightly. He liked her kind of embarrassment and couldn't take his eyes off her beauty. "Katherine stop it. There is nothing you need to blame yourself for. I need to be in control of my power at all times. This is not something you can blame yourself for." Of course, it wasn't smart for his focus to be on Katherine for a second in the fight. But that only got him a hook to the chin, which he had to take. Everything else had nothing to do with it anymore.

Her last statement reassured him a little, he was afraid she was afraid of him. "As long as you're not afraid of me, it's all good." He said jokingly a little unsure but with some honesty. He enjoyed her touch, the way her thumb caressed his cheek. He would have loved to melt into that tenderness but at the same time he couldn't close his eyes because he couldn't get enough of hers.

There it was again, that moment. They were for themselves, so close, so honest. The tension didn't seem to go away anyway and this time he noticed that she was also looking at his lips for a brief moment. He did the same to her. No one had to say it, he longed to touch her lips and he was sure she felt the same. But before anything could happen, Katherine started talking and now drew attention to his jaw. "Well, at least no Pat on the shoulder." Nate thought to himself, trying to suppress a grin.

"I'm fine, really." He assured her. Now that he thought about it, he noticed how his jaw ached slightly. But Katherine was his own painkiller, distracting him from it so much that he didn't even notice the pain. And there it was again, that other moment when her mood flipped. Like a switch tripped by something. Nate guessed it must be something in her mind, he couldn't think of anything else. It almost pissed him off that she would think such a thing. Why would he want her to leave? Didn't she realise how much she had him wrapped around her little finger now?

But it really made him angry, someone must have done her so wrong that she still came up with such thoughts. He didn't know who had hurt this pretty girl, but he would gladly take revenge. For her though, he put on a smirk - he had his control back - "Don't be silly, I would never want you to leave. Now, not another word about it." This time it was he who pulled her into another hug. "I'm going to take a quick shower, you're welcome to wait here or you can make yourself comfortable on a beanbag outside." Surely his brother had already cleaned up the marks of the fight and the two of them could make themselves comfortable some more in peace.

Nate went into the shower and rinsed off cold, washing his curly hair and the sweat from his skin. After a few minutes he came back into the locker room with only a towel around his waist and rubbed his hair dry with a towel. There were still single tropes of water on his abs. He put on fresh clothes and similiar trousers as for the fight, which were not yet sweaty. Wearing only pants, he ran out to find Katherine already sitting on one of the beanbags in the cosy corner. "I'll be right with you." He called out to her. He quickly dashed to his bag to pull on a clean black hoodie. On his torso, his muscles were clearly visible, moving under his skin as he ran through the hall. But there were also a few bruises to be seen, the result of his much loved hobby.

After grabbing his hoodie, he jogged over to Katherine, pulling it on as he ran, and then dropped onto one of the beanbags next to her. "Here I am." He winked at her and it felt so good for him that the sporting part was finally over. He could just lie there and rest and enjoy Katherine's company. The two of them lay there for a few more hours, chatting, laughing and Nate wished the evening would have many more hours.

But it was getting late and he didn't want to keep her too long. She would still have to travel home and surely she was getting tired too, he certainly was. "I guess we should both start going home. I don't want to mess with your parents just yet." He joked, reaching out to help her out of the beanbag. "Katherine, it was truly an honour to have you here today." He said to her as they walked towards the exit. If he was honest, he didn't want her to leave. Arriving at the door, he held it open for her and then locked it. "I'll walk with you for a while and then I'll go home too." That wasn't an offer, it was a statement. He wouldn't let her walk alone in the dark in an area she was unfamiliar with. And so he could enjoy some more time with her. As soon as they arrived at their destination, he gently grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. He put his arms around her waist, lifted her off the ground, which was a breeze for him, and spun her around in a circle once. "That was just a little warm up for Floopoweder in a minute." He laughed, setting her feet back down but holding her in his embrace for a moment. "Get home safe Katherine." He released the hug and looked into her Ice blue eye. He knew he had to see her again and an idea came to him. "I know it's already in a few days, but if you don't have plans on New Year's Eve, I and the others would love for you to celebrate the evening with us. We'll celebrate at our house in the garden and afterwards we'll all sleep at our place." He knew it was probably far too spontaneous and a girl like Katherine already had better plans, but he didn't want to leave any stone unturned.

Katherine was surprised, why didn’t he blame her? He had every right to do so anyway. She never showed that she was surprised. She just listened intently to what he had to say, she nodded in understanding to what he said. If it was anyone they would have just blamed it on Katherine.

She didn’t understand why he didn’t take that opportunity. But that was a question she’d, later on, get the answer to. Why would Kath ever be afraid of him? Just because he beat up another kid? Never. That was nothing, Kath isn’t easily scared, Although the one thing she was terrified of was her father and what he is capable of.

That brawl they had couldn’t come near to it.” don’t worry I’m not that easily scared, you think low of me”, she chuckled softly and gave him a teasing wink. Kath was glad he didn’t feel much pain in his jaw. Maybe he had a high pain tolerance, or maybe he was just bluffing to comfort her.

He had taken Kath by surprise as he grabbed her for a hug and reassured her. This time Kath couldn’t hide that she was surprised by the move. She leaned into his warmth in the hug and then let go when he announced that he’ll go for a shower. Kath headed out so he can get all the privacy he needed.

She sat on one of the bean bags outside. As soon as she sat she let out a sigh of relief, who knew the evening would have such a wild turn? It was gonna be a memorable night for sure, All of today’s events distracted her from the fact that her parents haven’t asked about her yet. And time has gotten late.

She gave a quick look at her phone and her assumption was right they haven’t texted her anything. It didn’t matter, as she put down her phone back into her bag, her eyes caught sight of a shirtless Nate, she couldn’t suppress a smirk at the scene in front of her, He really was trying to tease her.

But as her eyes were unconsciously checking the handsome Russian she noticed a few bruises over his torso. He really ought to take care of himself she thought to herself, but nonetheless, It didn’t affect how he was wonderful eye candy. Any woman by now would have thrown themselves at him.

Any woman but Kath, Kath wasn’t the easy type to fall in love with any guy who just had good looks. It’d take a lot more than that to break into her cold heart, she didn’t like Nate for his looks, yes his looks were a plus, but everything else about him was interesting. It’s rare to find that in anyone now Kath thought.

She watched as he sat on the bean bag next to her, she had a soft smirk as she looked at him. They had sat there for a few hours talking getting to know each other more and laughing every here and then. Time had run by so fast, just by talking with each other and enjoying one another’s presence.

She looked at the clock and agreed with Nate that it was late, she was also getting a bit sleepy and had to go by floo powder back to England. She took his hand as she got up from the bean bag and laughed at his statement about messing with her parents. He doesn’t have to do anything wrong and her father could get a million reasons why not to like him.

But Nate doesn’t need to know how they are just yet. She should keep that for later when he gets more accustomed to her. They had walked outside now and she had waited for him to lock the door. He had stated that he wanted to walk with her to her destination and then home, usually, she would decline since he must be so tired.

But she agreed only because she wanted to spend a little more time with him before she left. They walked together up until they arrived at Kath’s destination. She was going to turn and wish him a good night but he took her by surprise when he pulled her to him. He had spun her around once, she must have felt like a feather to him.

She placed her hands on his shoulders for support and let out a laugh, she kept her hands on his shoulders and looked at his beautiful blue eyes. She gave him a tight hug ” you too take care”, she let go of him and looked at him. He had invited her for a new years eve sleepover.

Katherine knew she didn’t have anything on that day, plus her parents didn’t celebrate it, but she gave him a tease Just to keep him on his feet ” I’ll think about it and tell you”, she gave off a devilish smirk, She knew what she was doing very well. She had wished him goodbye and then went back home, enjoying today's hectic events.

Happiness can be found even in the darkest times,If one only remembers to turn on the light.
