Happy Birthdays, Happy Holidays
Ami breathed a sigh of relief. Mia was happy, she liked it, and Ami hugged her Slytherin friend back as hard as she could. "Thank you for coming," Ami whispered back in Mia's ear in response to her words. Maybe... maybe this was why she was in Hufflepuff. Maybe this was why she didn't belong in any other house. Finally letting go of the poor Slytherin, Ami stepped back to survey the damage scene.
Along the walls were dragons, fairy lights, random music note stickers, and just pretty stuff. Use your imagination. The tables had a variety of chocolates, fruits, and other small snackable items, and on the center table, there was the fantastic cake surrounded by the presents and gifts from the other students. The armchairs that were usually scattered around the room had been pulled together to form a semicircle around the fireplace. Thanks to Gabriel's magic (not that any of them knew about it), everyone felt wide awake and ready to rock an awesome party.
"Hey, everyone!" Ami called out, clapping her hands together for everyone's attention. While she was taller than most of the kids present, just to give herself a small boost, she stepped onto one of the armchairs to gain an even greater height advantage. "First of all, thank you all so much for coming. I'm sure I speak for Mia as well when I say that we're so glad you came. Secondly, Mia's 12 already, and that's like, basically a teenager. So, in true American fashion, we're gonna play Truth or Dare."
She took Mia's hand, leading her to one of the armchairs, and sitting down in the one next to it. It was clear that everyone else was to follow suit, as there were the exact amount of chairs needed to fit the party.
Once everyone was seated, Ami turned to Mia, asking excitedly, 'Truth or dare?"

Happy Birthdays, Happy Holidays
Ami whispered this in her ear, and Mia smiled at her friend.Thank you for coming.
Thank you for organizing this. It means a lot.
Ami took her hand and led her to an armchair, and Mia settled down in it, comfortable and excited for what was to come. She was so, so lucky to have a friend like Ami who would do this for her.
Ami turned to Mia, an excited look in her eye, and Mia smiled back, equally excited. Truth or Dare, while kind of immature, was so much fun with good friends, who she was surrounded by.Truth or dare?
Truth?
Mia's eyes twinkled and she looked at Ami, expectant. While 'Dares' were exciting, Mia was itching for a 'Truth' from the auburn haired girl, something a bit unexpected.
Mia faltered and sucked in her breath. She didn't want to offend anyone-that would be bad, but at the same time she didn't know who to choose. Scott, maybe, just because he knew her so, so well. But the Escanora's seemed like good present givers, and so did Ava Silver. Mia decided to go with the latter.Who do you think will give you the best present?
Maybe Ava Silver? Though I have no doubt that Scott got me an amazing present.
Winking at him, Mia settled back into her armchair. Who was she going to pick? She had to torture her dear cousin-that was a given, but asking someone else would be fun too...
Scott, Truth or Dare?

Scott's self-satisfaction from the wink disappeared the instant Mia's friendly look turned into a sly smile.
He knew his cousin. And his cousin knew him, which was maybe why the dare seemed more attractive than the truth. Still, he tried to pull it off as something else:
"What kind of Gryffindor would I be if I didn't choose dare?" Scott crossed his arms smugly, but then quickly unfolded them to turn to the rest of the room. "For those of you who don't know, I'm a Gryffindor. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. Sorry."
Mia rolled her eyes slightly, then said, "Stuff 10 of the chocolates from the table in your mouth, and wait for them to melt. No chewing allowed!"
Scott laughed, and took a look over at the table with snacks. What was she thinking? He loved chocolate. Standing up and walking the few steps over, he started unwrapping them one after one and putting them in his mouth.
By the fifth one, he began realizing why this had been a dare in the first place.
By the sixth, he started hearing what was presumably Mia snickering from behind him.
By the seventh, he stopped tasting chocolate and began tasting defeat.
"How are you doing there, Scott?"
"Arghjl."
"About to give up?"
"Arghjl."
It wasn't attractive. With chocolate running down his chin by the time he got to the tenth, Scott was happy he was stood turnt away from most people by the table. If his mother had known he'd let anyone see him like that she'd go on and on about it. And Scott wasn't too eager, either.
Once it all melted, he swallowed what he could before turning to Mia with a friendly glare.
She made a reach over at the table where there was a pile of napkins, and reached one over for him. It was the least she could do. He took it, and wiped his face the best he could.
Taking his seat again, a bit beat and embarrassed, his mood lifted immediately when he realised it was his turn.
Now, Ami had already asked once, and she and Mia were the only ones he knew. He supposed he'd just pick one at random. With squinting eyes looking over the room, Scott ended up pointing towards a girl he knew to be from Slytherin.
"You. Black hair and white gown- hello. Truth or dare?

Aravis laughed as Mia dared the boy to stuff ten chocolates in his mouth and wait for them to melt. The black haired had done something similar once. Once. She had learnt her lesson when she shoved 7 jumbo marshmallows in her mouth ate age 5 and ended up choking on one.
Once the boy was able to complete his dare he asked Aravis the infamous question, the one all children feared. Truth or dare. "Hiya. My names Aravis. And I choose Dare." She said with a smile. She was given a task a bit easy for her liking. Compose a poem for Mia on the spot. Simple.
"It was in the rehearsal room,
When the birthday girl Mia was met.
A lady as pretty as a bloom,
Though at first she was a silhouette."
Aravis smiled and laughed a bit, what eve was she saying. She made dramatic hand geustures and movements to bring a few laughs to people.
"A smile to bring cheers,
A laugh to bring joy.
Strong enough to fight her fears,
And friendship no one can destroy."
She smiled finding it harder to go on. Her mind sad that was enough and told her to stop before she embarrassed herself. Her heart however wanted to show how much Aravis treasured their friendship even more.
"Laughs, and tears will be shared,
And journeys that will never end.
A bond which cannot be teared.
For Mia, everything i would spend."
She took a bow, dramatically of course, before sitting back down where she was. She would truly do anything for her friend. Now it was the next person. Who to pick out of all these people.
"Girl I played gobstones with, what is your name?" She waited for an answer before she continuing. "Truth or dare?"

Mia looked completely stunned, which was definitely a good thing. Amadea laughed and smiled at the birthday girl. Once everyone had settled in and the shock had worn off a little bit, Ami suggested playing truth or dare.
Amadea had only played the game once before in the Room of Requirement, and hadn't exactly enjoyed it. She didn't like sharing personal things with a bunch of people whom she didn't know personally and she also didn't like embarrassing herself also in front of a room of people whom she didn't know personally. This game was something she didn't want to play, but would humor Ami. After all, this wasn't her party and she shouldn't be throwing any temper tantrums about what they did or did not do.
She listened as Mia answered her truth and then dared Scott to stuff ten chocolates into his mouth. Amadea was a bit afraid that he was going to choke, but thankfully managed to push them all into his mouth and swallow them after they had completely melted. Amadea shook her head. This game was crazy!
Then it was Aravis's turn. She was dared to come up with a poem for Mia on the spot. Amadea listened and had to admit that Aravis was a very good quick thinker! She had come up with the poem in no time at all! It was amazing - plus the poem wasn’t even half bad! Amadea was still reveling in Aravis’s poetry abilities when she realized it was her turn. It seemed as though many people had been picking dare so Amadea followed suit.
”I choose dare,” Amadea announced. ”Oh also my name is Amadea.” She hadn’t originally planned to introduce herself, but it seemed as though everyone else was and Amadea wasn’t going to be known as just that redheaded girl.
Aravis dared her to do her own rendition of a famous ballet. Amadea didn’t know many famous ballets and her knowledge about the actual dancing itself was even less. This was going to be interesting. Swallowing her pride, she stood, putting her arms out in what she attempted to make look like a graceful position. Then she began dancing. In her head, it looked something like this, graceful and suave. Unfortunately, to any onlooker, it looked more like this. Amadea finished the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy dance and quickly sat back down, face ablaze. It was probably as red as her hair.
Turning to Syrah, she asked, ”Truth or dare?”

To be honest, Truth or Dare made her nervous. She usually picked truth, since that was almost always easier. But it made her feel self conscious too. Her life, although she loved it, was rather boring when spelled out so simply in a game such as this. She had been to a few different countries on vacation, but aside from that, she hadn't really done anything else children her age would find interesting. She hadn't kissed a boy, she hadn't had anything very embarrassing happen to her, and she didn't have very many friends. Although, looking around at the party now, perhaps that could change.
So when her turn came up, from Amadea, she wasn't sure how to proceed. She really enjoyed all these people and she didn't want them to think she was boring, because she knew if she picked truth, her answer would probably be boring. And so she picked dare, suddenly very scared, this never worked out in her favor. Yet, the dare's so far didn't seem too bad. She wished she had gotten the chocolate eating one, she would have gladly completed that challenge. She loved chocolate. She was glad, though, that the girl before her got dancing. Syrah was not good at dancing and she was relieved that that was off the table.
Unfortunately, when Amadea spat out the dare, it was worse than the dancing the previous girl had to endure. Singing. At least everyone could dance and it they couldn't it was simply funny to watch them, but bad singing wasn't funny, it was painful, and Syrah was bad. She would have to attempt to do higher notes. She was slightly better at that. Lower notes sounded like a slug, if slugs could talk.
Grimacing she thought of ways to speak as little as possible, and to be honest she thought the entire rest of the game was a bit overkill, why not just one round? She was now wishing she picked truth. Always pick truth.
And so, she continued the game, slinging, quietly and highly, her next questions to the girl, Odette, at her side. "Truuuth, or Daaaaaaaaaare?"
If Truth: What Professor do you have a crush on? Because you know you have one.
If Dare: Go flirt with one of the paintings on the wall.

Serena yawned audibly as she walked down the corridor. It was a pain doing these patrols. But she understood the importance of them. It was very important to make sure that the students were safe, especially given the dark rumours that were spreading around the castle like wildfire. They were nothing but rumours right now... However, on the off chance that there was even the tiniest bit of truth behind them, it was very important to make sure that the corridors and rooms were properly patrolled. Today, it was turn for the Prefects to do a big sweep through of the castle. A few of her fellow Prefects had taken the floors above. Serena had been assigned the First Floor down to the basement. Finishing up the first floor, she walked down the stairs and through the Ground Floor. The Great Hall was deadly quiet, it was very odd. In fact, there was something unusual about seeing it so quiet.
The Prefect sighed softly, staring around the big hall. It was incredibly beautiful and looked even more vast and spacious than usual when it was so empty. Exiting the Hall, she made her way down the corridor. It was not long until she stopped abruptly. Was that laughter she heard?
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked around the corridor. She was sure she heard someone's voice with a laugh nearby but could not see anyone here. Her gaze fell onto the door of the Small Hall, located down the corridor. Without further ado, the Hufflepuff made her way over to the hall and paused outside the door. There was definitely some whispers coming from within. She frowned intensely - wondering what was going on inside. It was far too lively for the night. Without a warning, Serena pulled down the handle and pushed open the door.
Within the room were several students - very young students. Most of them seemed no older than she was. In fact... she recognised a few of the faces. "... What's going on here?" She asked out aloud, though she was talking more to herself. Serena looked around the room, there were so many students all dressed in their pajamas. Some sort of party, it appeared. Her eyes fell onto the colourful banners, sprawled with messages about someone's birthday and a congratulations. Serena sighed.
She hated being the bearer of bad news but sadly, rules were rules and some things were meant to be done. This was the part of her Prefect role that she hated the most but nonetheless, she opened her mouth to speak, "It's very much past curfew. All of you should be in bed. Sadly, it doesn't matter what the occasion is, curfew is curfew - and it's in place for a reason. It is simply for your safety and wellbeing. Pack this up immediately and get back to your dorm rooms. You have precisely two minutes to leave and anyone caught wandering around will be receiving much worse than a verbal warning. Get to it. And I suggest that those who share a house travel back together, for safety." She ordered the room full of people, as much as she hated it.
She sadly had no choice. They must have known they were sneaking past curfew but she felt like being in a generous mood today and not giving them all a detention straight off the bat. Perhaps because it was someone's birthday, perhaps because she had recently had her own birthday and it did not go well, perhaps because it was near the end of the year... Maybe she was just too tired or too lazy to run the detention... Or perhaps it was simply a combination of the above but for some reason, Serena decided a warning will suffice on this occasion. They would have an opportunity to immediately pack it up and leave. "You can continue whatever it is in the day. At 10pm, you should all be in your dorms. If any of you break curfew again, expect worse." She finished as she waited for everyone to leave.
