The brunette listened to Alaska as she asked if it would calm Eri down if she sang. She thought about it for a moment as Rowan said that Alaska was a good singer. Eri was a little bit of a singer she was more into instrumental music if she was going to play anything. She was good at guitar. But if she thought she could calm Eri down then she would let her try. "Sure. Go ahead and try." The brunette says a bit quietly and changed her position on the rock and sat with her legs hanging off the side of the rock.

Why she picked that rock? She always sat at that spot when she wanted to be alone and it happened to be where the two girls were. Though she was already calming down a small bit. Trying to think through what she would say to her brothers if they found her. Their first question would still be why did she have detention, but now that she had ran from them and not come up with a lie would make them more suspicious. Anyways she would have to say sooner or later, but for now she would stay here at the rock.

Okay, maybe it wasn't the best idea to sing. Alaska had absolutely no idea which song to sing. It would probably leave a bad impression if she stepped down from something she volunteered to do. What was she thinking? No. She had to do this. Alaska felt that it was her obligation to make sure others won't feel the emotions she had experienced day and night back in the muggle world. Even though Eri may have been in a completely different situation, it made no difference to Alaska.

The only problem now was what to sing. Alaska for that moment looked up towards the luminous, yet  melancholic sky and started to reminisce. A flurry of mixed memories floated towards the surface. She could visualize the never-ending sadness she was so used to. She could feel the anger building up from her ongoing encounters with that group of boys. She could also see the merrier memories, like that Christmas morning where her mom handed her a hand-woven green sweater while they dined on cookies and milk. Another memory came up, this time Alaska and her mother were at the beach. As she held a miniature plastic shovel full of sand in one hand and a cream-colored shell in the other, her mom started to sing again. This time it was the song of the sea. Presently, Alaska was almost lost in nostalgia as she relistened to her mother's voice. Little did she know that she was unaware and unknowingly started to sing along, although she was in reality singing alone. The gentle laps of water from the Great Lake was harmonious to Alaska's clean, gentle, and articulated voice.
"Hush now, mo stóirín
Close your eyes and sleep
Waltzing the waves

Diving in the deep

Stars are shining bright
The wind is on the rise
Whispering words
of long lost lullabies

Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing

Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea

I had a dream last night
And heard the sweetest sound
I saw a great white light
And dancers in the round

Castles in the sand
Cradles in the trees
Don't cry, I'll see you by and by

Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing

Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea

Rolling
Rolling
Rolling
Rolling

Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing free

Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea

Grá go deo"
Only after she had finished the song did she realize that she already sang. If felt so quick and easy to do. Perhaps it was Alaska's deep memories that aided her in singing. Nevertheless, she was relieved it was over. The rhythmic chirping of the crickets began. For a moment, there was silence. Then, Alaska turned towards Eri and managed a genuine smile. Her cheeks were slightly red from the embarrassment of singing in from of others. "I hope that made you feel better."
