Alan finally would find that there was more going on within this round of the duel. It seemed they had needed the previous round to warm up. This round however they were done playing around. Ming would attempt to hit Adelaide of the opposite team with a Tickling charm and managed to just barely hit her. Adelaide tried to retaliate with a Tickling charm of her own, however missed the viper. Gemima had more luck in their attempts to hit one of the snakes and managed to cast the dancing feet spell on Guinevere, who would promptly start to tap dance next to her partner, but not after she had cast a Smokescreen spell that would envelop the entire stage in a heavy smoke that would indeed affect everyones vision. Alan was surprised as he had never seen this spell used in a duel before that he himself had moderated, if he remembered correctly and grinned slightly as he tried to make out shapes and forms through the smoke.

While it was hugely satisfying to see the fog emerge from her wand and obscure her oponents' vision, it was not when out of the corner of her eye she saw Sable shoot a spell at her, and the next moment, her legs were not hers and instead decided to start tap dancing. Gritting her teeth in more frustration, she squinted through the fog and was happy to see that her teammate's spell had hit its target. Readying her wand once more through the frenzied dancing, Sable would recieve a glare, if she could even see it through the fog.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1

A quiet optimism started taking a hold of the bespectacled Slytherin; as more and more this duel resembled something like his practice and less like the disasters these events seemed to be for him.
"So kind of you to indulge me, @Adelaide Barlowe" he said with his best poker face, as the Ravenclaw captain missed her retaliatory cast. Every single one of the Ravenclaw actions thus far were within his predictions, and he had actually managed to perform up to his expectations, this time.
And speaking of expectations, just as if on queue, came the smokescreen. Perfect.
"Excellent!" A little bit enthusiasm leaked from the composed, quiet boy. For those who knew him well, he might as well have been dancing for joy. "Let's get this done!"

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
@Gemima Sable @Beatrice Langstreth @Fang Hui-MingWhat was going on with her today? She very clearly was not doing her best, which was unacceptable. Attempting to dodge out of the way of Ming's spell would prove unsuccessful, and her attempted retaliation would also prove unsuccessful. Adelaide couldn't help the laughter that erupted from her, a very unfortunate side effect of the spell, because nothing about this situation was funny in the slightest.
"Oh, please," she got out through fits of laughter, "I was just going easy on you." Her attempt at sounding intimidating would fail drastically considering she sounded more amused than anything. Merlin. This was awful. At least Gem's spell had hit Guinevere, and the Slytherin started tap dancing. Another fit of laughter left Adelaide. But not long after had heavy smoke erupted from the Slytherin's wand, enveloping the entire stage and making it basically impossible to see anyone. Well, this was just great.
Bea's shout of encouragement helped her though. Yeah, she's got this. She has. But she desperately needed to get out of whatever awful funk she was in right now. She couldn't lose. She wouldn't.Action: As strategized

"Yes!" Gem said softly, allowing herself a brief moment of celebration. That was only one spell, though. They were just getting started. She sighed and gripped her wand tighter, ready for whatever else was to be flung at them. Guinevere's dark eyes flashed in anger at Gem through the smoke. The latter smiled and gave a slightly cheeky wink in return. No harm done, right?【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

This time around luck seemed to have a particular favorite or so it seemed. Because both Slytherins would miss their spells. Ming had tried to cast a tickling charm and while well executed, it seemed the smoke must have gotten to him. Similarly it would be for Guinevere, as just as she had been about to cast, the thick smoke forced her to blink perhaps and past its target the spell went. It was not to be the same with Ravenclaw however, both choosing a rather ruthless path. Both Adelaide and Gemima had picked no other than the Knockback Jinx and sent them toward the young Slytherin girl, who would not be able to dodge the spells. She was hit despite the fog and the paintful laughter that momentarily shook Adelaide, but luckily to her would now allow her to breathe and properly steady her wand once more. The smoke had thinned as well, allowing all the students proper sight for the rounds to come, unless of course a student chose to do a repetition of the smokescreen spell.

Alas, it seemed the duel would take a rather dark turn for her.
Pointing her wand at Sable, she would recite the incantation for Incendio Duo and at the last moment, Guinevere’s concentration faltered as she saw spells erupt from the Ravenclaws’ wands and was unable to dodge because of someone’s stupid dancing spell. It seemed she was in the worst shape right now, but there was still time to turn it around.
Stumbling back a few steps, she righted herself. It was not the end of the world. Gripping her wand with resolve and determination, the Slytherin took a moment to catch her breath before the next round of casting started.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1

The bespectacled Slytherin raised an eyebrow at the tactics of the Raven house. He had not expected them to manage to land a hit through their cover.
"Miss Russetwood," his voice was tinged with just a tad little bit of concern. "I hope you're faring alright?"
The Chinese boy was a bit irritated at the turn of events in this latest moment, but it was not altogether unexpected. How irksome, but it was just a small setback. They still had time to overcome.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
@Gemima SableNow this round was what she was talking about. This was who she was, her endless practicing paying off. Finally. Despite the momentary laughing fit that had overcame her, and the fog that had made the Slytherins barely perceptible through the haze; she had still managed to, somehow, miraculously, land a very well-aimed Knockback Jinx at Guinevere. Gem's Knockback Jinx had also managed to hit, likely leaving the Slytherin girl very badly shaken. Great, exactly what they needed. A smirk made its way onto her face, but she wouldn't get too cocky. Not just yet.
At least the laughing fit had now passed, and she was able to take a deep breath and steady herself. Even though she'd still managed to land a spell whilst under the effects of the Tickling Charm. The fog was dissipating too, and she could see more clearly now. Glancing at Gem, she gave her partner a reassuring nod, "Great work. Let's keep it up." The odds have seemed to turn in their favor, and hopefully it would stay that way for the rest of the duel.Action: As strategized

While Gemima and Adelaide decided to perform no proper action of their own, for reasons unknown to the Metamorph teen, he had to say that Slytherin was acting rather unspectaculary anyway, so it wasn't as if the vipers had used this to their advantage. Quite the opposite actually, as Guinevere lost control of the spell and almost made Ming the victim of her fire spell, whereas the boy had missed Adelaide with his own jinx. At least he had seen the spell headed his way coming, even though it had come from a direction he couldn't have anticipated.
