Everyone Loves Colors, Right?
Rhys sat quietly as a few others arrived, and the meeting really started to kick off. A Slytherin arrived shortly after they did, introducing herself as Caoimhe and offering them a small smile and wave before turning to the others. Rhys gave a small wave in return, not entirely ready to engage just yet. Caoimhe... what an interesting name, Rhys thought. Much like their own, it was an uncommon name that they didn't usually encounter.Dialogue
After Caoimhe arrived came an older Gryffindor Rhys recognized just from seeing him around. He didn't really introduce himself, but then a Hufflepuff girl (who Rhys could only assume was Kayla) addressed him as Kim. Rhys had vaguely known this, somewhere in the back of their mind, but it was nice for it to be confirmed. Kayla proclaimed him as 'the god of food'-- which led Rhys to guess that he had a knack for cooking, or baking, maybe. They themself had grown up baking with their mum, so they knew a thing or two about it as well. It was sort of one of their hobbies, but not one that they practiced often. Perhaps, if today went well, Rhys could later ask Kim if there was another club associated with cooking or baking. After briefly interacting with Kim regarding her ferret, Squeaky, Kayla decided to get the ball rolling on the meeting.
Oh, joy. It was time for icebreakers and introductions. Both inevitable, and both things that made Rhys want to dry-heave. They sighed as Kayla explained what they should say in their introduction, rolling their eyes and looking over at the group. They noticed as a girl, a Ravenclaw, also heaved a sigh at the mention of icebreakers, and they smiled a little to themself. At least they knew they weren't the only one who would hate this activity.
Another, different Ravenclaw girl introduced herself as Aisley (people here keep having such interesting names) and apologized for being late, claiming to have slept in. Rhys's money was more on that she'd forgotten, though. After all, it was almost 2:00 in the afternoon, and the girl looked surprisingly put-together for having apparently just woken up. But, Rhys digressed.
The Ravenclaw that'd sighed about introductions then introduced herself following Aisley's introduction. Hers was a name that immediately struck Rhys as sophisticated. Cynthia... It was a name that they'd only really seen associated with old elderly women, but it surprisingly suited the girl really well, Rhys thought.
"I like art, because it is a paradise within this dystopia... until it isn't." Rhys had been half-heartedly paying attention to what was being said, but this definitely caught their attention.
And then their attention turned to the fact that now, no one else was saying anything.
Crap, is it really my turn? Rhys inwardly groaned. Oh, well, may as well get it over with.. Rhys reluctantly cleared their throat, sitting up straighter so they'd be noticed, despite being 5'0" and purposely distanced from the rest of the group.
"Uh.. hi. I'm Rhys, I'm a first year, um..." What had Kayla said? Name, year, and what else? Rhys should've been paying attention. Luckily, they could piggyback off of Cynthia, since what the Ravenclaw had said had caught Rhys's attention. And also had been the only thing they were really paying attention to. "I also like that art is a paradise within this dystopia, which I think was accurately put by Cynthia." They glanced over at the Ravenclaw, a small smile almost forming on their lips before they looked to the rest of the group. "I also like how it's an outlet for me to express myself." Okay, that was totally cliche, but it was true. And what did it matter, as long as Rhys got their introduction over with?

As in her actions + attitude, not her looks. Well, for some people, they might consider her cute like that too. But not him. "I can't help it, I love food in general, especially sweets." Kim told Kayla. "If you ever need help with food, sweets, desserts, or things like that, feel free to send me an owl. Or just come to the Tri-Cook Club, my cooking club." Kayla wasn't currently a member but Kim wouldn't have minded if Kayla joined it too. After all, she was pretty good at making those chocolate chip cookies. That is, if she'd been the one to make them. The teen couldn't help but smile as the ferret came closer to him. Squeaky was adorable. Puffie squeaked at that moment, reminding Kim that he was also a 'squeaky' kind of creature. Kim reached up and scratched Puffie's head affectionately. As Kayla clapped her hands together to draw attention to herself, he regarded her for a moment. Listening to what she had to say, he nodded and decided to let all the others go first for now. Unless, it seemed as if someone didn't want to go, then he would go first to give them more time to collect themselves. The boy knew how it felt to be put on the spot like that. Being uncomfortable and nervous was something he was familiar with. "Yo. I'm Kim. Second year duelist for Gryffindor. I've always loved art my whole life and I specialize in sketching, drawing and painting, in that order. I also like composing music and writing songs. I will be the Head Drawer for this club, so please come to me if you need help on anything!" Kim told everyone and inclined his head before looking over at the next person to introduce themselves. He was curious as to how Kayla would go about doing things for their first meeting for the club. |

═══════*.·:·.☽✧ 218 ✧☾.·:·.*═══════André had the letter the Art clubs leader, Kayla Realma, had sent him a couple days prior, held in his hand. It would be their first meeting and take place in the Court yard after lunch. Entering the yard he saw quite a few people he knew. Kim, his 'cousin', Aisley the girl who helped him dye his hair, and Rhys his mom's childhood friends kid.
He also knew the leader, Kayla who had helped him sometime in the beginning of the year when he was still learning the way to the common room. Thankfully he did learn. It looked as if the meeting had already started, but wasn't to far in. Probably just introductions or something. He thought to himself.
He walked up too the club "Hello! Sorry I'm late, also that I don't really have any Excuse..." He took a seat near by the blanket. "Sooo what are we doing at this moment?" the boy asked Kayla. Of course anyone else who knew could give an answer, he hoped nothing to important that he had Interrupted, with his late entry and what not.
He looked around at the students that were on time. "Oh! Sorry if I cut any of you off mid sentence." he was pretty sure he didn't, but could never be to sure.═══════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══════

During the introductions, Kayla was satisfied with what she heard. Love seemed like a word that generally went around the group, or a form of it.
Express myself.
Dystopia.
Freedom.
Creativity.
Kayla was enjoying it, and was smiling while everyone presented. The meeting had barely kicked off yet and she was already feeling...well it was hard to describe. It was like cloud nine, but not that feeling of utter bliss. It was more of a cloud seven. But seven was one of Kayla's favourite numbers anyway, so it was just as well.
As Kim finished talking his bit, Kayla waited for someone to go next. But, instead, André arrived. Kayla knew André as he got stuck on the way to the common room.
"Hey Andre, glad for you to join us!" Kayla said to him, and she looked at the rest of the group, kind of indicating this was a new member. "We're just making quick intros'- name, year and favourite thing about art." she explained briefly and smiled.

Someone he knew well, the boy who was considered to be his cousin. Kim hadn't known he was a member. He inclined his head towards Andre as he spoke but otherwise was silent for the most part. After all, Kim wasn't the type to enjoy small talk. If there wasn't really anything to say, why bother saying it in the first place? It wasn't as if most people actually cared, unless it was about something they enjoyed doing too. Or they were the same kind of person he was. But then... they wouldn't do small talk in the first place if that was the case. Kim's lips twitched with amusement at Kayla's words about her ability to cook/bake in the kitchen. She probably wasn't that bad and even if she was, Kim was sure he could help her gain some skills. More people showed up and introductions were made. Eventually, introductions were over and Kim waited for the meeting to start and for activities to get underway. While he waited, he decided to refill his plate with some more cookies, sandwiches and took some of the fruit, nuts and cheese from the platter he'd brought with him. He also took more water and of course, grabbed some more Bar Ones to stuff into his pockets for later. Munching on the snacks, Kim waited for the club leader to let them know what they would be doing today. |

I was going to have Kim leave the meeting but since it didn't really start yet, I'll stick around for awhile longer. The thread was going to be auto-locked if I hadn't posted, so that's why I'm posting now.
